All you have to worry about is doing whats right. If you see something, say something. You don't need a movement for that. It's called being a good human being.Yea. I understand that it is something that I will never understand unless I have personal experience with it. Its just how when I heard about these females coming out about R Kelly doing things to them when some of them went with him willingly and then later said that wasnt the case or Bill Cosby and how long it took for some of these women to come out and say what happened to them. Its just something I cant process because I have never had that way of thinking.
I don't know how realistic my idea is but if there isn't one already, there needs to be a sort of network where if a person is reported as having been kicked out of a convention for doing something bad word should be passed to other convention via some event network to blacklist them. If such a system is in place then it seems to have failed.]Apparently Gllty has been known to be a damn predator FOR YEARS! Even going to Anime events, GETTING KICKING OUT BTW, because of how she creeps on women.
It aint hard to change your appearance and get a new name. Some musicians do it to when their career fails and they want to start over.I don't know how realistic my idea is but if there isn't one already, there needs to be a sort of network where if a person is reported as having been kicked out of a convention for doing something bad word should be passed to other convention via some event network to blacklist them. Maybe because the person ran it was afraid of the backlash. I still need to talk more to that person but all I know is people been known about Gllty's behavior. Its just never been public until now.I don't know how realistic my idea is but if there isn't one already, there needs to be a sort of network where if a person is reported as having been kicked out of a convention for doing something bad word should be passed to other convention via some event network to blacklist them. There are people who go to jail for years of their life because of accusations. Im even saying it happens often but this is people's lives we are talking about. I couldnt imagine having that kind of weight on my shoulders. Not only that but with social media being the blood sucking worm that it is, those people who do get falsely accused dont return to their normal lives and will forever be scarred. Look at the VA for Broly, Vic.
Dont like that you included just men because people seem to have this idea that women arent capable of sexually harassing men or other women but that was probably just an oversight. Not everyone gets to be as lucky as Vic and still have a chance at a good life. My issue is that even if that chance is rare its still not a chance I am willing to take.According to the National Registry of Exonerations, since records began in 1989, in the US there are only 328 cases where men convicted of sexual assault were exonerated because it turned out they were falsely accused. That's out of 2479 exonerations in that time period. It certainly does happen, but it's super rare. False accusatons are obviously a bad thing, but it's a smaller problem, especially compared to the problem of people choosing not to report when they've been victimized.
Vic Mignogna is doing fine. He hasn't face any legal repercussions, he's already made quite a living for himself, his fans just raised $230K for a legal defense fund, and he's still doing signing events. As far as I know he's still pursuing voice acting work currently, and he's probably still going to have plenty of voice acting opportunities in the future. We also don't know for sure if he's actually been falsely accused. To my knowledge he hasn't been cleared of anything yet.
That 328 includes men and women, I'm sure. Not a lot of people would admit this, but yes, women aren't delicate flowers XDyep, and fuck them that good, when they agree with , and is a consensual agreement from both parts, hehe ....
My friend was falsely accused and now he's a registered sex offender and can't leave the country all because his ex was pissed at him.Very few people actually get their lives ruined over false accusations.
That sucks for him. He was convicted in a court of law though, was he not? I'm not as familiar with the Canadian legal system, but it's not like he was simply accused and added to the registry without getting his due day in court. Hopefully he can get things cleared up. Like I said, it certainly does happen. Doesn't change the facts. Doesn't mean it's still not a rare occurrence. My friend was falsely accused and now he's a registered sex offender and can't leave the country all because his ex was pissed at him.
Yeah, that's true, he was found guilty but based on what evidence? They were both drunk so hey I don't know. Maybe he did it, I honestly don't wanna know. But it's still hard to make a ruling when you weren't there especially if both parties were drunk. That sucks for him. He was convicted in a court of law though, was he not? Well, for one, he hasn't been PROVEN to have done anything yet. That's how we work in the civilized world; Innocent until proven guilty.According to the National Registry of Exonerations, since records began in 1989, in the US there are only 328 cases where men convicted of sexual assault were exonerated because it turned out they were falsely accused. That's fine, since he hasn't faced any legal repercussions yet. Innocent until proven guilty is a legal standard. It applies in the court of law.Well, for one, he hasn't been PROVEN to have done anything yet. That's how we work in the civilized world; Innocent until proven guilty.
Unfortunately in the court of public opinion its the opposite. Thats the downside to things like this when somebody is outed. So just like somebody said, I encourage everybody to get both sides of the story. But alot of these muthafuckas are coming out with confessions like WTF!?That's fine, since he hasn't faced any legal repercussions yet. Innocent until proven guilty is a legal standard. There is no “beyond a reasonable doubt “ stipulation within the court of society. We can and should call out those who have but be careful not to ruin someone’s life on a hunch.Ykes. Just looked through the entire thread. While I am all for catching these monsters and having them confess to their crimes.
We need to realize that this should all be done LEGALLY. Going on social media and throwing out names is how some people's lives get ruined and not all are guilty. As much as I want to believe the victim in these situations I will always listen to both sides because only those people were there and if only one is talking there is more to the situation than is let on.
This doesnt apply to situations like Gllty and those that she has harassed because both sides have been said and there was a conclusion and the truth was revealed. Not every story is like that.
Dont go online and post about how someone may have drugged you or harassed you. Take it up with the legal system first, get everything settled then go screaming online once things have been determined to be 100% true or as close to 100% as possible. This is even more especially true when there are a large number of people who enjoy being the victim and would do vile things like fake deadly illness for sympathy.
That's the special skill of shitty people they will take anything, no matter how good the original intentions were, and twist it to their own advantage thus ruining it for others.Wow that's beyond Fu%&*# up. That's horrible and I feel bad for your friend. See this is why and it's happened here in the USA too but you don't hear about it, it's why with this whole "metoo movement going on" I'm skeptical about these stories unless there's actual, hard evidence. I feel like people forgot how the law works, you're innocent until proven guilty not the other way around. Sadly that's what it's come down to now days. It's why and a prime example of this is the Kesha case, I'm 99% sure she lied because she first even said the guy she got involved with music wise with her contract "never raped her" then she gets locked into a Sony contract with the guy and all of a sudden "oh yeah uh he raped me" she just tried to lie to get out of that contract not a doubt in my mind, the case got dismissed due to lack of evidence and her story not being consistent with things she's said in the past about him.
There was a local case near me too at a NY college, this one bitch tried to lie and say her ex raped her along with others on the football team so they suspended him or took him off the team but further investigation proved she lied and then she admitted it just to get back at her ex because he broke up with her or something. This is why IMO the metoo movement is a bad thing at times because people try to take advantage of the whole "oh we live in a world now where people believe women now anyway so I'll just lie and screw up this guys career, name etc" It was the same with Mattress girl, she lied just to make a statement. Thankfully in some states they go to jail for that since that's a serious accusation not to be taken lightly.
Of course don't get me wrong, if someone is raped, abused etc they should report it and that person should be brought to justice. But if someone is found lying about that shit too they need to also be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law. This should coincide with the newer laws regarding "revenge porn" well what about "revenge lies" just to ruin someone? To me it's no different.
Absolutely. Getting both sides is great. At the same time, if there is a credible person, or credible people, making an accusation, then I think it's worth listening to them and giving them the benefit of the doubt.Unfortunately in the court of public opinion its the opposite. Thats the downside to things like this when somebody is outed. So just like somebody said, I encourage everybody to get both sides of the story. But alot of these muthafuckas are coming out with confessions like WTF!?
Yeah pretty much, it's messed up. Like some people can't tell the difference between ione thing to get back at someone but another to ruin their entire life. That's the special skill of shitty people they will take anything, no matter how good the original intentions were, and twist it to their own advantage thus ruining it for others.
Under title 9 in the US you can’t even consent to sex if you’re drunk. It’s the reason why I don’t attend any parties despite being in college.Yeah, that's true, he was found guilty but based on what evidence? They were both drunk so hey I don't know. Maybe he did it, I honestly don't wanna know. But it's still hard to make a ruling when you weren't there especially if both parties were drunk.
That is a smart idea. Even if it is considered as a part of the college culture, if there's a risk involved, sometimes its best to not take part.Under title 9 in the US you can’t even consent to sex if you’re drunk. It’s the reason why I don’t attend any parties despite being in college.
