Dont use the analog stick. You just need to learn the thumb 'slide' to catch your diagonal inputs. Trust me, you are fine on pad, like 100% fine. As mentioned, some of the best players on the planet play pad, there is no disadvantage. You just have to practice a little. Thing is, once it clicks, it'll stay clicked, ie once you get the hang of it it wont ever really trouble you again. As to regular combo timing of normals and such.. there is a huge window to input them, again, just practice until you get used to the timing and it'll come easy as pie afterwards. Timing and cancel windows are almost identical across characters too so once you get it down you can jump from one character to another and pick up their basic BnBs really easily.
