1. i dont play MK9, never did. I play UMK3. am not doing any match up chart.

2. so far some of these charts are pretty off. looking more like speculation rather then from exp.

3. the colts will go 0-16 w/o peyton manning.

I'm trying to get the best players of all the chars to discuss/play out matchups to finally make a well thought out, community ran matchup chart. It should cut down the trolling/whining by a lot, considering this will mostly be (hopefully) top players making this chart. I think your name has been floated around for a couple of chars, I have you on CSZ so far. Do you main Mileena also?

But....you never played that game before or even talk about it. And for the record....you never really talk about none of the 2d MKs before. It was all about MKvsDc, MKDA, and MKD. I think I'm being troll by someone I really support.

so after looking at some of these charts i can say that this project isnt going too well. it looks like we will have 30 different charts with a different match up in each chart, which makes each chart contradict the other.

Am I missing something? What charts?

You're referring to the matchup chart threads in every character forum? To be fair that was THTB/Konqrr's idea before this "community chart by pro players only" thread even existed. Back then we didn't really have a plan, so Konqrr was just asking around for everyone's input and opinions on all matchups. So yeah it's pretty chaotic right now.

How about we do a dynamic tier list Shoryuken style? http://bbr.s23.eatj.com/matchupper/

But again, only the top players of each character would be able to score their main character's chart. So in the end we just round up the numbers and have a pretty good average. That could work.

I suggested this a LONG time ago and PMed all the top players individually. Only REO, THTB (who's been extremely helpful), and Tom Brady got back to me at the time. Michaelangelo did also, forgot about him. You've pretty much repeated exactly what I said in the first post.

Either way, as long as it gest done, that's all that matters. The problem is, we are still trying to decide who's the best person for each char, which the community has not established yet

I don't see a lot of huge disagreement with my matchups vs. other experienced tourney players', at least. I know Fly and I both have Kano-NW as even, and Teef and I both think Kenshi beats Kano 6-4. Pretty much every good Kano and Kabal player I've seen has that match as 6-4 Kabal, and I agree with that as well; Kano vs. Sub is the same story. IIRC Konqrr and I both put down Kano-Kitana as 6-4 Kano. You get the idea.

If people are just complaining about the overall chaos of the matchup threads, that's kind of the whole reason we have this project!

I'd like you and I to discuss CSz and Kano

CSz can dive kick knives, parry all balls, trap him w ending combos w u 4 med bomb cancel.

Kano wins up close w low starter, xray, and Kano owns the air with up ball when CSz is overly aggressive w dive kick and JIP

5-5? I've personally never had a Kano beat CSz more than 2 games out of 10 which is why I'd love to discuss w you who feel has the best Kano.

Most of the people in the Kano forum have it as 6-4 Kano and that was my very tentative rating in my post there. It feels more like 5.5-4.5 Kano the more I play though. Not being able to toss knives is a bigger deal than I originally thought since he apparently has the old knife recovery back.

But straight ball seems to punish all dive kicks from what I can tell, and CSZ is one of the characters who can't crouch f+11. His pokes are obviously weak aside from b+22, so stay in f+1/b+1 range and Kano should have it I think. Most Kano players still seem to think of him as keepaway with knives/upball, when the real heart of his game is hanging around mid-range. That's where CSZ is weakest, hence why I like this match.

I love this idea. But don't you think it's unfair to make it top players only for each character? I mean you don't need to be top to know who your character sucks against and who your character beats. But hey, I think my way would be faster but I can understand why you guys are taking this path.
