I agree with the trait buffs, right now its pretty lack luster. I wish his trait grab had more range. This character is too much fun but as it stands I definitely feel like he needs a little help. Some people have proposed making his levitate blast an overhead but I would rather not just throw a 50/50 to him and call it a day. Obviously many people won't agree with me but I propose these changes:
Making canceling into his trait off certain block strings plus 1-3 or at least neutral. For example 22 trait cancel would be 0 on block and if 22 connects, the follow up will combo.
Make mb levitate blast plus 5-7
Make bf2 trait special a hard knock down with more hit advantage
Make levitate blast -8
With these options he doesn't gain any 50/50 but wil give an actual use to his trait and allow for some decent pressure..
What do you guys think? What would you like?
Also please note that this is just a fun discussion and in no way am I demanding buffs. Just a fun hypothetical discussion. Please don't be that person who starts bitching about us demanding buffs, games just came out, blah blah blah.
I agree that would be a really hand buff too.I agree with the trait buffs, right now its pretty lack luster. I wish his trait grab had more range.
You need to have trait up for those to combos.I'm struggling madly with two of grodd's basic combos that seem very simple.
b2,1 - how on earth do you connect the second hit? It never does it.
f2, throw - again i cannot connect it.
Am i missing something?
I see, thanks. You need to have trait up for those to combos.
yeah its tough. I find It best to do it mid combo like wall bounce (step forward), d2, trait, d2~db2 or 22 1+3(mb) ,d2, trait, d2~db2I see, thanks.
I don't ive ever used his trait. hard to find space to do it
How are you getting from the trait into another move without breaking the combo? the trait animation is too long surely?yeah its tough. I find It best to do it mid combo like wall bounce (step forward), d2, trait, db2 or 22 1+3(mb) ,d2, trait, db2
Here's a vid from PND Ketchup & Mustard explaining it.How are you getting from the trait into another move without breaking the combo? the trait animation is too long surely?
Thanks, I watched that earlier on the youtubes, but I can't for the life of me get the second D2 off after activating the trait. the timing and position seem impossibly exactHere's a vid from PND Ketchup & Mustard explaining it.just apply the same concept after 22 1+3(mb), d2, trait, d2~db2. Sorry i left out the 2nd d2 in the previous post...
Try to d2 them at the highest point after the b3 then press trait as soon as d2 hits and keep holding down on the d-pad. I find holding down after the d2~ trait makes the 2nd d2 easier to land. When you get that consistently then add the db2Thanks, I watched that earlier on the youtubes, but I can't for the life of me get the second D2 off after activating the trait. the timing and position seem impossibly exact

Yes optimal Grodd play centers around getting his opponent into b2 restand loops, but that's like saying Fate is one dimensional cause he's all about his zoning. So is this character literally just all about looping his b2 into leap?
His trait seems cool but rather useless, definitely needs some adjustments.
Was excited for this character but he looks boring/one dimensional
Can be used to make his strings safe or just to end things in ,like 112 ground pound if you wanna keep em in that spotwhats the best way to use his ground pound, there doesn't seem to be much point comboing it that i can see, but there must be something.
if it lands monkey leap if it doesnt then nothing lol. if you monkey leap on block your getting a sweet d2. If your trait is up i guess you can use b2 grab as an end to combos, would rather keep the resets going thoughwhat's the best move to follow b2 with?
