I also personally think that a move that has armor, is safe, and goes into combo is too much. The only one I can think of right now is Sonya's Cartwheel.
Armored Ex Moves as Combo starters did go a bit far - just look at Rain's Ex Roundhouse Kick, Jade's Ex Staff Slam, Scorpion's Ex Spear, Kabal's Ex Nomad Dash, Sonya's Ex Cartwheel.... to be honest, Rain's Ex Roundhouse Kick is ridiculous with the armor which gives him a free combo then he has the Ex Bubble which takes away 1 Meter which can be put in the same combo. I play against my brother's Rain all the time and people don't realize that makes him overpowered in that sense. Just imagine giving Cyrax an "armored" Ex Bomb as a combo starter then using the Ex Green Net to take a away 1 meter while at it, that's insane!
If they were to reduce armor, I would pick Rain's Ex Roundhouse Kick then Scorpion's Ex Spear which leads to his famous vortex and maybe Kabal's Ex Nomad Dash because giving a zoning character armor into a combo crazy. I see people here wanting to give Noob Saibot armor? That's nuts! He already has a Teleport, an overhead Tackle, Slide, No Block Cloud and his Upshadow which works so good as wake-up attack to prevent cross-ups and opponent from getting in even with poke attempts. That would make Noob Saibot OP when he can comfortably sit back and zone keep them out. The ONLY zoning based character that needs armor is Sindel who has no Teleport, she has her D1 but every wake-up gets stuffed by a poke - what is so wrong giving her an armored Ex Cartwheel? It's not a combo starter, the most she will get out of it is to escape from corners and being poked to death trapped like Sub-Zero and Cage. Giving her an armored Ex Cartwheel will make her one fine solid character.
Jade needs the armor on her Ex Staff Slam, her damage output is the least of worries and that move can be avoided. Sonya needs the armor on Ex Cartwheel to get in on zoners let's say like Kabal/Kenshi same reason Cage has armor on his Ex Red Shadow Kick, to get in on zoners.
Mileena needs no armor move as reasons are well known. Sektor does NOT at all need armor, I see some talk about giving him an armored Ex move - that would make him overpowered. He is actually a truly balanced character, his Ex Teleport Punch is safe on block, his standing 1 is fast, his Uppercut is fast, his Flamethrower is great AA and keeping opponents from getting in, his Back1 pushes them away yet he can zone heavy with his Missile straight and from above. Cyber Sub-Zero is another balanced character, he does not need an armored Ex move his Dive Kick can only be punished by a few characters which is very annoying and he has a Teleport to escape, talks of an armored Ex Slide? There's no reason to give him any buff.
If this next patch ever comes out, the only things that need to be fixed are Cyrax resets, Jax corner game, Smoke reset, maybe Kabal's instant air gas balls, certain characters regarding damage scaling (Cyrax etc), Tag infinites (but no one ever plays it), block infinites, glitches, invisible collision walls, Kitana's X-Ray when she exchanges it against a projectile sometimes the Fan spins on their head, X-Ray failed. I like to welcome buffs on characters who really NEED it, not to hand out buffs for a character to make them even more stronger than they are already solid currently - give armor to those that need it and reduce armor properties on characters who don't really need it (ie; Jax etc) or fix characters that need to be tweaked like Jade. I don't play every character but I feel MK9 is closing in finally being balanced once and for all.
