My wife found an amazingly informative PDF with all kinds of useful info. It even includes instructions on how to make your own hand sanatizer with alcohol and aloe gel. It looks like you can still find the ingredients readily available at most stores.

You can download it from my Dropbox here.

I wonder if once this is over the worlds gonna put more pressure on China about worker rights. Making their workers keep working while sick instead of making them stay home to recover had a ripple effect that has effected the rest of the world in the long run.

Or apply more pressure on China not lie about a horrific virus, I think it's bullshit that they don't have any new cases too, I honestly don't see how that could be possible. Pressure should be applied on China for human rights in general.

It's been over 2months since it first started and they had a pretty hard lockdown relatively early on. You stop people interacting with each other and the virus can't spread. It's not surprising it's finally come under control.

Secondly, what have they got to prove by lying about that? If anything it shows the rest of the world you can come out of this at the end without the country falling into too much of a shitpile.

They've also been sending medical teams and equipment to Italy and some other countries i think. Had they still been in a crisis, i don't think they'd be willing to offer these to other countries.

According to this article, Dr. Fauci states that as many as 200,000 Americans could die, which means that millions will likely be infected.

I was watching various European news outlets and some regions are under complete quarantine. If you are seen walking or jogging outside, you receive a ticket as though you were speeding. Does America have to follow suit? Trump implied a quarantine of New York but backed off. What do you guys think?

Trump must hold the Chinese government accountable for allowing to spread this virus into every corner of the world.

I've seen a number of articles where the prediction is 100-200,000. If that's the case, Trump would consider that a "good job."

I live right next to NY, literally. The whole place should be quarantined. This is a mess.

Trump said he'd seen early estimates that 2.2 million people could have died if the government had done nothing in a worst-case scenario, so "if we can hold that down to 100,000" or less, it would be a "good job." Had the country simply ridden the virus "like a cowboy" and driven "that sucker right through," the president insisted, disaster would have unfolded. -

Disaster already did unfold.

I hate how every news even here in Germany is talking about recovered patients, but they never mention that recovered patients who are asymptomatic
are still having the virus and can still infect others.
For me a person is fully recovered when they can get rid off this virus, but without vaccine you cant.
So stop calling these ppl recovered!

Considering between 25,000 to 50,000 will probably die from the flu this year and 500,000 will die of cancer and another 600,000 will die of heart disease, 100,000 doesn't seem like the end of the world.

I know this coronavirus situation is bad and it's really scary but we should also try to keep things in perspective.

The lockdowns are starting to show signs of working, so there's some reason to be hopeful that the number won't even reach 100,000. Hopefully the numbers start dropping in NYC to give the hospitals a chance to treat everyone and get PPE to the nurses and staff.

They reported on the news here this morning that Trump is going to address America to prepare you guys for a death toll of about 100,000.

For those of you south of the border, stay safe.

Not only does the flu have a far lower mortality rate than the novel coronavirus, you also cannot cough in someone's direction and give them cancer or heart disease.

This is one of the most sociopathic things I have ever read.

This is what I predicted. Actually, I wouldn’t be surprised if the death count is higher than that. Even now, a lot of people STILL aren’t taking this situation seriously and aren’t doing what they’re supposed to be doing. Mostly through ignorance and/or stupidity. Others are taking the proper precautions and everything but are still getting it like those in the medical field, unfortunately.

Secondly, what have they got to prove by lying about that?
China's Communist "party"/government regularly misinforms their own public and the international community so that they can maintain their power and influence. This is why people who are asymptomatic aren't counted towards the cases in China, this is why they posited the theory that the US created the virus, this is why they tried to get that NBA GM fired for supporting Hong Kong protests, this is why they pretend the Tiamanan Square massacre never happened. Even Trump was concerned about doing testing because of the negative impact it will have on PR.

It does look like they are getting things under control, but it would be foolish to look at any numbers from China without a serious amount of skepticism.

Is there a specific, formal source that shows numbers for your country? Here, the Federal Government's site shows the number of cases, probable cases, and deaths broken down by province/territory.

Do we know for sure that China could have prevented it from spreading to other countries? Globalization being what it is, it seems like the spread of the virus was inevitable.

China certainly has some human rights issues that need to be addressed, and they obviously could have done a better job handling the virus themselves, but I'd rather not use China as a scapegoat to ignore our own administration's failures.

"Yeah people are still traveling. I personally think that’s okay. You don’t need to stop living your lives. As long as you take the proper precautions you will more than likely be okay. I for one am still going to the UMK3/classic MK tournament in Ohio on April 3rd. I’ll be flying in. "

You weren't taking it that seriously some time ago aswell so please, stop.
Btw, keep predicting more stuff. Seems like you're a specialist on most topics imaginable.

I remember a few years ago an ancient virus in Russia thawed out of the permafrost (ironic name) and infected a town's water supply. A lot of the people got sick and one person died. As climate change continues to be a bigger and bigger threat to, well everyone, expect more ancient diseases we have no reference for to thaw out of ice in the colder countries as parts of the world get warmer.

Honestly the best response is "and? You're saying we shouldn't even bother to prevent spread of this?" What about is-em is fucking stupid when death is the topic.

What...think of how many people AIDS has killed. No one went after any African country for any of that as of yet. The virus definately does come from china. But, who is to say it was spread by chinese people traveling or foreigners coming here to make money (like myself). Also china locked down waaaaay harder than USA. I bet if you guys go outside now you will still see people not wearing masks which is silly. I do however think that China probably fibbed about their numbers in wuhan. That isn't that great and may be one reason other countries didn't take it so seriously.

I think you completely misunderstood my post as one of those "it's just the flu" people trying to downplay the virus.

Trust me, I know it's not "just the flu" and I'm taking every precaution to protect myself and my family from getting this. It's very serious and we need to practice social distancing, etc. I would have liked us to shut down international travel sooner and even domestic travel.

All I was trying to say was that even though 100,000 looks like a crazy big number, when you put it into context that it's a brand new virus that we have no vaccine for, that we are still trying to find effective treatment for, that spreads super fast, is not an unexpected outcome at this point. It sucks and it's horrible and we need to do everything we can to slow it down. Unfortunately, it's here and it's part of our world now.

However, there is hope. We will slow the spread of the virus through social distancing and testing throughout the next few months. The number of peak cases for each city will hit between Mid-April to early May. After that we should be able to mitigate the spread enough to be able to treat people properly and with all the right equipment (hopefully) as the amount of serious cases slows down.

I'm sorry if my post seemed heartless or cruel, as that was not my intention. I only wanted to offer some perspective and context and say that this isn't the end of the world. It's a very sad thing, and it's something that we have to accept at this point.
