If I have any suggestions it would be to shorten the podcast and make it more topic specific or if you're going to do these longer podcasts, edit them so they are only 45 min - an hour long.

Just from a journalism perspective. You want to do your best to keep your audience involved for the full discussion. Whoever moderates (Pig or someone else) needs to not let someone dominate the conversation and allow open form type discussion so everyone has a chance to speak.

No one (even us super fans) has the capacity to maintain everything in a three hour long podcast. I mean... the average movie time is only about 1:45.

Still, great discussions and smart conversation.

I personally think Scorp is just another top char. Probably top 5 but isn't in a league of his own. I'm guessing because he is more insane online than offline. I could imagine him being the #1 online char.

I predict there is more Black Adams in top 8 at CEO than Scorps despite Scorp being what some claim to be the best FT2 char.

Also, there was talk a few pages back about how Injustice is not very random and the better player will win more often. Look up 16 bit vs me if you want proof on the contrary. The chance of scrubbing someone out will be very high as long as the stage select rules are anything but random stage every time.

Beating someone better than you is a lot easier with a 50% chance of getting your preferred stage than if you had a ~3% chance.

I think the attitude of the top players (not all), and the wanna-be top players (sprinkled in just about every page of this thread) towards the rest of the community (ie the tym "trash") is hurting the game/community more than anything else mentioned in the pod cast.

Edit: This is evident in all of the fighting games, but more so here where it's the cool thing to shit on it's player base.

When you say that Frost mains think a MU is a certain number...can you please be specific because I don't know anyone who thinks Frost goes 5-5 with Sinestro or agrees really with any of the numbers you threw out that are supposed to represent what Frost mains think.

Her only bad MU is Black Adam imo. HOLD THAT

I dnt think he is overrated at all, I know he I solid. But do I think he justs "breaks the game"? well I at least want to see a major before that is said. But since that is the "talk" most ppl are saying about him, then it is seeming like a majority opinion. Few will be with me lol. Overall, i'm starting to think most think he is way more than top 10, they thinking he is top 3 from the words i'm hearing about him.

this is what I've been saying, no way I can scorpion just "breaks the game", I at least want to see a tournament where this is proven (a major preferably). There are still other super dangerous characters, a scorpion won't be able to just walk into a tournament and body ppl. We got AM, supes, BA, WW, GL, batman, and etc. Like I said, i'll eat my words if he really is too good.

I will say this about interactables- they help balance out matches. On a stage like Atlantis, Sinestro has almost no chance of beating Frost. On the Metropolis rooftop the matchup is noticeably more manageable. Also Sao87 there are very few acrobatic characters. Frost would be INSANE if she could throw or use the interactables for damage.

I have to say I agree with this podcast a lot. The community is what kills these games and seriously WTF is all the killer Instinct hype get that crap out of here. On another note its not just the FGC that is killing a game type this is all types of games suffering now because the communities quite literally do not know what they want. When they get something they ask for the cry, when they dont they cry its lose lose for all game developers.

Newbie here (first post on tym, igau is my first fighting game), just wanted to say I enjoyed the cast even though it was more than a bit long. Here are some points I'd like clarification on:

1. Why is KF so good? Even after that whole cast I'm not sure. Also, pig, the part about your wife wanting to cosplay as KF was hilarious.

2. What makes Scorpion's teleport fundamentally bad for the game but Ares's and Batgirl's teleports fine? I main Ares for what it's worth.

3. How can anyone think Lobo should be top 5 because he's a DLC character? He should be good because every character should be good, but he shouldn't be godly just because he's exclusive. The latter is anti-competitive. Shoutout to Tom for his stance on that one.

4. In retrospect do you guys stand by "lists" being the reason for MK9 being dead? Seems pretty clear to me that people just wanted to play something fresh but similar in IGAU.

5. Tom was saying people like IGAU because it doesn't have 10-0 matchups. I totally agree a game with less polarized matchups is better, but doesn't IGAU have those? I'm new but I can imagine that oppressive zoners would have an easy time with clunkier characters like lex and joker.

6. Regarding Aquaman, is he really that good at keep-away, or is it the fact that even if his zoning fails he has his trait? Theoretically, where on the tier list would aquaman be if he just didn't have a trait? Totally not saying that should be the case, btw.

7. Generally the whole panel seemed pretty confident that the top-tier characters would stay more or less the same as the game progressed. Is this taken to be a good thing? I play Dota (don't judge) and balance patches in that game often breathe new life into a stale scene dominated by the same heroes. Wouldn't swingy balance patches in fact be better for Injustice in the long run in the sense that they would make people have to figure things out all over again? Tom said it himself, he had to come up with a new strategy when he lost his low scoop on Aquaman. Isn't adapting to adversity what this whole genre is about? If people aren't adapting anymore and they're just going through the motions they will stop playing IGAU just like they stopped playing MK9.

2. I think 50/50 standing reset loops break any game and is a scrubby tactic all together. They have no place in fighting games period whether you use meter or not (Batgirl). They kill so many aspects of a game. Batgirl/Scorp/KF

3. Aquaman's trait in it's current state is scrubby. The "patch" only nerfed .5 secs total

4. No move should chip 6+% (trident rush, and I didn't know batgirl's cartwheel)

5. BA's DK backdash (He has one the best backdash's in the entire game and would still be top if meterless DK was full punishable)

6. Batman's robo-bats need to be revisited. He is mid tier without them but with 1 bat he:
a. has an air projectile
b. can use/combo with interactibles
c. can make strings safe
d. can extend combos
e. gets a really good added zone tool
f. more

7. Can't react jump all seismos (Aqua's FTD) or forward dash them. Why not have relative placement like sektor's up missiles or sheeva/quan teleport?

8. f2,3 breath shits on neutral/ footsies game. f2 should be high.

9. AA special moves don't have AA properties (Banes/Supes/Bane air grab and more)

10. Delay MB projectiles like Supes and GL. How do you make a correct block read then start a dash and then Boom?!

I don't think 1 character ruins this game. I think 7 do b/c of mindless things (although robo-bats does involve thought and creativity).

I say fix these and then balance. This is not about tiers or tourney wins. it's about mechanics. Opinions?
