Well, if Scorpion dominates the game, I am telling you right now the game will not last. Players will not spend hundreds of hours playing the game and pay $700 for a flight and hotel room only to lose to above average Scorpion players in the Ferris Airport or Mess Hall. People are already tired of Black Adam and Rooftop as it is.

well hopefully someone says something to hector or one of the other nrs guys and lets them know so we don't have to deal with it much longer. they can properly fix batgirl while they're at it, and make sure zod doesn't break the game as well. at the rate theyr're going, they'll probably give zod a tracking teleport that's safe on block, grants full combo on hit, and hits from both left and right side at the same time.

The best thing we can do is tag colt with any reasonable concerns and hope that he takes them into consideration when patching the game. As Dizzy stated in other threads the developers don't really care about what people on TYM have to say in regards to balance. But I have a feeling that if you post rational stuff and try to flag colt (pakos?) attention towards it you may be heard.

As far as I'm concerned this next patch coming in with Zod needs to address a good majority of issues going into Evo or the game will be set on a destructful path. I really hope that they can look past giving the testers what they want to win Evo and actually address the games issues.

This podcast was cool because it really didn't seem like a podcast... It was like "Gossip time with Tom Brady." I felt like I was in a hotel room at a tournament with them... lol

As for my opinion on the Catwoman segment... I don't have an opinion on where Catwoman is on the tier list. I just think shes good, and that is all. I also love playing her, and will continue to do so for that reason.

And lastly. If people are getting hit by her cross-up dash, why should I stop using it? The answer is that I shouldn't. This is basic fighting game 101, learn it. You guys should try blocking it at Evo, maybe I wont even use it once. You never know, that's the art of fighting games. :)

NRS developers do not care because lots of people on this website are clueless fools. If you listened to these so-called gameplay experts on TYM, they would have you believe that vanilla Deathstroke is broken, Killer Frost is overrated, pre-hotfix Scorpion is fine, and Hawgirl and Lobo are secret top tier characters.

This thread has a lot of the smarter players on TYM here, so this is the perfect place to lay my grievances with this game and explain why I don't think it is solid.

1. Scorpion does not belong in it in MK form... hell he even takes the spot of a DC character anyways

2. I think 50/50 standing reset loops break any game and is a scrubby tactic all together. They have no place in fighting games period whether you use meter or not (Batgirl). They kill so many aspects of a game. Batgirl/Scorp/KF

3. Aquaman's trait in it's current state is scrubby. The "patch" only nerfed .5 secs total

4. No move should chip 6+% (trident rush, and I didn't know batgirl's cartwheel)

5. BA's DK backdash (He has one the best backdash's in the entire game and would still be top if meterless DK was full punishable)

6. Batman's robo-bats need to be revisited. He is mid tier without them but with 1 bat he:
a. has an air projectile
b. can use/combo with interactibles
c. can make strings safe
d. can extend combos
e. gets a really good added zone tool
f. more

7. Can't react jump all seismos (Aqua's FTD) or forward dash them. Why not have relative placement like sektor's up missiles or sheeva/quan teleport?

8. f2,3 breath shits on neutral/ footsies game. f2 should be high.

9. AA special moves don't have AA properties (Banes/Supes/Bane air grab and more)

10. Delay MB projectiles like Supes and GL. How do you make a correct block read then start a dash and then Boom?!

I don't think 1 character ruins this game. I think 7 do b/c of mindless things (although robo-bats does involve thought and creativity).

TAS_DASH, not a bad list. Those changes could be viable/ some of them you listed I've heard other suggest, so you've done your homework. Some I believe should stay (like Gl's delayed mb on his oa's missile)/ changes to things like the standing resets (yeah they are annoying but vortex's are just how fighting games are (sf4 akuma/ibuki for example)) should stay since that has been established as how those characters (KF,scorp, BG) should be played. Overall, NRS will make a few changes each patch, and some of these you mentioned are all possible changes to consider.

2. I guess I'm wondering why you feel this breaks the game? I don't think there is anything wrong with it as long as the 50/50 options on block end the pressure. I do not like the idea of huge combos into standing resets however.

5. Agreed. Would like to see him have to put something on the line (like meter) to guarantee safety. He currently makes the game look like shit because hes the best escape artist and can use power interactables.
6. Hmm, if anything slow down the timer between bats. I'm afraid to touch his trait by removing functionality because he can easily go from high tier to shit.

And in general I would like to see some stages fixed. No characters should feel like they've lost at stage select.

Acrobatic characters are garbage currently. They need to be brought more in line with the rest of the cast in terms of interactables. If they cant place a bomb allow them to stick out air normals after interacting or have some sort of air animation that can knock someone down at the very least.

Most of the mobility options just end up feeling like, haha I can't believe he used the interactable, I'm just going to wait here and full combo punish.

The reason why i disagree with the vortex comparison is b/c in those game you are coming from a hard knockdown meaning you can wake up or focus the incoming move. It's not a true 50/50. Those are also not loops. The game has tools like focus attacks etc. to make them more like 33/33/33. Of course the game also has option selects which is different scrub monster all together. Vortexes don't work on all characters due to moves they have. Wake up teleports... ex moves etc. These injustice 50/50's are true 50/50's that work on everyone. I say keep frost's damage but get rid of the 50/50 loop. I think those characters are still good w/o the loops.
Also, Capcom realized these were problems and fixed them with SFxT. Thank you for the feedback.

not a problem, always good to have some intellectual talk about the mechanics and components of a fighting game.

9. I don't know if everyone should have an anti-air but the should be some sort of anti air options for way more of the cast than there is. All anti-air specials should be first. b3 MB is universal.

8. I don't mind how fast it is, but what if 3, on 2,2,3 was faster and now you have 50/50's, dashing sweep (df3) was faster, and his grab truly anti aired. I think he'd still be really stong.

2. I just think fighting games should be chess matches not guess which hand. Maybe it's b/c I've been playing since sf2 in the arcades and I'm getting to old for the new school fighters.

The larger issue is the lack of consistency as far as "normalizations" are concerned. Apparently, Scorpion's jump 3 is normal, yet Doomsday's vanilla splash was not. Deathstroke's vanilla low shots were not normal, but Superman's f+2,3 xx super breath is normal. Aquaman's safe low scoop was not normal, but Killer Frost's slide, which has four times as much range, is perfectly normal. In the end, the way the game and the characters are played is all up to the opinions of a couple of people at NRS.

8. Well I guess I just think the advancing properties on the f2 are what makes it so good. Making it a high would ruin it as a tool in my opinion. Slowing it down however would at least remove the frame trap aspect of it. I just find a move that reaches 1/3rd screens length to be absurd at 8 frames start up. No other mids in this game even come close to rivaling that.

I like your analogy. Whenever someone asks me why I like fighting games I say the same thing almost. Its like fast paced chess and when you're playing against someone good its a very good mental workout which I think is healthy.

On the podcast, I forgot to mention that the Hawkgirl forum is arguably the worst sub-forum on this website. Aside from you, everybody is ignorant and under the impression that Hawkgirl is secretly a top tier character. These fools should not be taken seriously about anything gameplay related.

Also, for anyone who perceives this game to lack 8:2 match ups, fight Superman with Lex or Lobo and let me know how the fights go.
