Injustice - Filipino Champ calls out the MK community, "if we played MK none of you would ever win"

I think the MK community should pick up other fighting games and actually see how different they are. I think the disrespect comes from lack of experience and I'll be renting SSF4 and some anime games like BlazBlue for several reasons, one of those is to ensure an easy transition into Injustice.

I play MK exclusively so far and I have to say the entry level really isn't too high. I don't think it makes us trash, but we certainly need to broaden our minds if we're going to actually level up.

Somebody issued a challenge to us, could they have done it better? Sure. But it's still a challenge, and MK will not prepare us for this challenge. We need to become more open-minded and realize our flaws and that the majority(not all) of us that only play MK are lacking in the fundamentals needed for other games. Sitting around and talking trash and claiming you'll body him won't get you anywhere.

TL;DR Don't hate, hype.
What ppl fail to see, is that MK has a easy learning curve, but playing really at the absurd high level is really hard

It's not easy playing other games at high level either. If anything it's still harder, but the fundamentals for a game like MK and a game like SF are entirely different and IMO shouldn't be compared.

He's won like 5 MK2 tournaments, how many have you won?
I've never been to any offline event. I have played Reo online for probably 100 matches or so right before he swept the MKs at NEC and he didn't win any more than 10 matches out of the 100. There are alot of guys that could do the same thing against him in MK2. He's probably top 30 in MK2.

MKF30

Fujin and Ermac for MK 11

Exactly, there are a lot of games out there that are "easier to pick up, but hard to master" but for some reason some folks seem to think that translates into= "oh the game is easy so anyone can play it well" Totally not true at all..

Tetris is one of the easiest, simplest games ever made but does that mean everyone can do this? I think not...lol

There is no offline scene for MK2, therefore, results are based on our online performance. Nobody is going to spend $500 to go play a 10 man MK2 tournament. The whole argument that offline results are all that matters is not legitimate in MK2. Someone said in another thread that if you have success online then your success will most likely be greater offline. Weren't you the one that siad that?

Only if this guy mained Skarlet, none of us would ever win.

-> One of the biggest difficulties in offline matches are to handle the pressure. Playing at home in your sofa is clearly different than with hundreds of people watching, screaming and teasing you at each error.
We could say that the lag could make the online more difficult but people get used to it and it even help some tactics.

Anyway I think that if the Capcom high-level scene wanted to play Injustice they would probably run the Injustice scene. Maybe not Champ in particular, but some great player are just so good, whatever the game. it's not by luck that plenty of players very ofter share the top of SF, SxT, Mahvel, etc. even if they have a very different gameplay.

Edit : Anyway Champ is a heel who loves to be hated, and he needs competition (betting on CPU Tournament on DBZ Budokaï and stuff like this), so MK players shouldn't take this too seriously.

Lag varies from match to match, so there is no getting used to it. If I beat someone decisively online, then I would bet any amount of money that I would beat them just as bad or worse offline. Pressure is not going to change my muscle memory.

You know that some technics will be useless online, or in the contrary very powerful due to the lag so yes you can get use to it in a way.
And fighting game isn't only knowing combos, specially in tournaments.

First of all, mine and Juggs conversation was about MK2 and I play that game at an extremely high level. My muscle memory allows me to react to anything without even thinking. I wasn't talking about just combos. Lag tactics don't really exist in MK2 like they would in MK9.

Keep in touch with me. I'm playing Blazblue atm. I'm trying to prepare for Blazblue Chrono Phantasma which looks freaking amazing.

IGAU and BBCP are gonna be my two games. Starcraft's learning curve and technical speed requirements are too much for me, so I'm gonna stick with starcraft being my casual team game.

Someone needs to edit this, like the hitler video to fit the FChamp and the MK community drama. That would be so Hype! Just give me some props.
Mortal Kombat scene unites and forms an out numbered army to take on the legions of Capcom Illuminati who say "We are trash, and WE ARE SCRUBS!" I say to you this FChamp...Over!

So you like two teams in different states that have basically been the best teams in their respective leagues for the past 20 years or so. That doesn't sound like bandwagoning at all.

There's been offline tournaments. My point is you can be the best player in the world, but until you prove it offline, it doesn't really matter. REO has proven he's good, you may not agree, but he's proven himself at a tournament, more than once. Until you do the same, the point is moot. Not trying to be a dick, that's just how it is.

For the record, I'm not saying you're not better than him. I've played both of you and you are better. But you can't claim the best through online, even if there's no offline scene. This is a lesson I've learned from UMK3. Many many people label Shock and Joe 2 of the best UMK3 players. As much as I hate that and don't agree as far as Joe is concerned, I can't say much. Even though I beat both of them 2-0 in tournament, they have won many UMK3 tournaments, more than anyone in the US I believe.

I think online players are great, I'm an online player myself. My point is not that you are not good because you play online, my point is that it doesn't matter if you're good if you ONLY play online. See what I mean?
