LMAO. see, you've never even probably tried to learn marvel. they stick to capcom games because capcom fighters generally have a MUCH higher learning curve than mk does. they don't "own" in tekken or doa because those are boring ass games that have little to no following, compared to marvel and ae.

And need I remind you Tekken was the sole biggest reason SF3 and the rest of the 2D fighting genre was banished to the wilderness for over a decade, and still today holds the largest market share across the entire fighting genre?

It is fortified once again; a fighting game is only "dead" or "boring" if it's respective Queensbury rules are too steep an ideology for the Capcom community.

I think you're right its unfair to say one is better than the other or to say what that if we played your game you'd never win anything but it seems like its only Champ talking, most of the other top players seem to be looking forward to new competition from what I can tell

1) I'm not from the Capcom community. I'm not a part of any community, but I will consider myself as a part of this community, or maybe simply the Injustice community, when the game comes out and I start playing it.

2) It will be my first competetive fighter. I like fighting games and I own a bunch of them. I watch a lot of tournaments streams (even watched your games in the tournament last week: good stuff), but I never spent the time to actually learn them, because I was lacking the motivation, which is finally there with Injustice.

3. I never said that MK9 is a bad game and I also never said that it requiers more skills to play UMVC3. I simply said that the Capcom players concentrate more on Capcom games, because there is more money in it and that MK9 has vastly different mechanics than Capcom fighters, so it's harder to pick it up at the beginning.
Every player on the planet would drop a game that he has a hard time getting into, if he already has to spend a lot of time practicing for the games where he is already good at, but still has far more competition.

That's also my biggest problem with the people in this thread. They bash Capcom players for not being good at MK9, but at the same time no one acknowledges that they never achieved something special in MK9 fighters (with PL maybe being the only exception).
Acknowledge that and then we can discuss further like gentlemen.

My post was towards F.champ's video, not you man. Capcom players have always said that MK9 was trash etc etc, while not even giving the game a chance.

While MK9 is, pretty much, dead in the EU, with the exception of Greece and the UK, its alive and well in the US with many tourneys with prize money from what i ve seen. Well, ok, it does not have the pot Marvel or SSFIV have, but still there is prize money for the taking.

My point is, that, while i totally respect what he is trying to do (bring two different fgc's closer, which is a very good thing to do IMO), the way he did it was wrong. He cant just come out of the blue and imply that an entire community is trash, simply because he and the other Capcom top players didnt play MK9. Thats arrogant AND disrespectful.

I think the MK community should pick up other fighting games and actually see how different they are. I think the disrespect comes from lack of experience and I'll be renting SSF4 and some anime games like BlazBlue for several reasons, one of those is to ensure an easy transition into Injustice.

I play MK exclusively so far and I have to say the entry level really isn't too high. I don't think it makes us trash, but we certainly need to broaden our minds if we're going to actually level up.

Somebody issued a challenge to us, could they have done it better? Sure. But it's still a challenge, and MK will not prepare us for this challenge. We need to become more open-minded and realize our flaws and that the majority(not all) of us that only play MK are lacking in the fundamentals needed for other games. Sitting around and talking trash and claiming you'll body him won't get you anywhere.

TL;DR Don't hate, hype.

This gets me real wriled up! You scrubs actually think you can hang with a community of players that have been breaking down games for 10 years? What happened when mortal kombat 9 first dropped? We saw the testers do good out of the gate, Justin bodies all of your heroes at PDP for 10K, and then loses interest in the game.

Here is whats going to happen. The testers will start out doing well with their artificial advantage. Except this time testers are apparently being pulled from multiple communites (would it surprise you if EG is helping test the game?!?!?!). Interest dwindles and the true fans of the game end up levelling the playing field.

No doubt in my mind EG will body you scrubs out of the gate. And if their interest stays, they will continue to hold you down while ricky goes in dry.

Justin won one tournament. Good for him.

Let's keep in mind that just 3 months after the game's release (ie before the capcom guys "lost interest"), Perfect Legend and REO squared off in the EVO Grand Finals. Two MK players. Yes, I know, it's shocking. But of course, don't let facts get in the way of a good story.

I have not read the 400 plus posts. I am a street fighter and mk player. I have travelled to a crap load of tournaments. I play both. While I am not a top player, I can say the street fighter skill is way higher in their own game then mk skill in ours. When I travelled for street fighter alone, we have had Laugh, Infiltration, Ricky, Tokido, others in our room for money matches. Hell, we have had Filipino Champ in our room more than once playing. In Utah, we have two top street fighter players. 801 Strider's footsies are way better then I have encountered in MK. This doesn't mean Top MK players suck. But at the very highest end, they are better at their own game.

If they take on injustice as their main game, I see the names champ mentioning winning the tournaments.

Not to disagree with you... b/c I (and many others here) couldn't do shit against MK top players or other games' top players... BUT

with a new game, comes new top players. Just b/c you're top in certain games doesn't make you instantly top in others. IGAU is it's own beast. So, don't laugh off these "no names" ... they may be the next REO or whoever in those other games.

History will just repeat itself, obviously their games have more depth, but just because a player is insane at football doesn't mean they're going to be a god at table tennis.

The same argument was put forward last time, and the capcom heads just got wiped out. The only way they can be on top in injustice is by having injustice as their main focus for years after it releases. To do that, they'll drop off the top in capcom games anyway
