Liu Kang to me its the new number 1. He was Top Tier even before the patch. Now with the nerfs to the other top characters, and he get kinda slightly buffed i think he is the one.
Its pretty dumb what NRS is doing. This is not a proper balance, but just changing the characters at the top.
If you wanna balance things, do it the right away. If you take something away from current character, give him something else. Take smth, but give too.
Otherwise you are doing b.c. They should have touched and balanced the KB and FB, cause this was the main thing that gives certain imbalance. Throws also should have been touched and that f**** 50/50 should have been removed and add animation for front/back throw.
I have problems with Liu Kang even before the patch. He is fu**** pressure character with great safe strings and they are extremely fast and he steal turns a lot. Also he has abilities that will shine, when people get more use to the game and get better, like his parry for example.
He simply have the best zoning from "mixed" character. He destroys Cassie in that department. He can throw low and high fireball at the same time, his low fireball is actually low, while Cassie is mid, and you not even need to crouch to block it.
Cassie or anyone, that is not full zoner cant play zone game with him, simply because he have that imba full screen Flying Dragon Kick, that is insanely fast - 14f, and its full screen and even carry a f** KB. You dont even need to flawless block, you just need to normal block and hop reversal eat that kick in the face. And you can even amplify that s.... He is simply the best anti air hero in the game. I even forget that he have a Air f Fireball ....
He have crazy good KB, on which you can even combo and do insane damage. His FB is ridiculous, it has good range, its crazy fast and hard to punish because of the blockstun. And if thats not enough, he can fu** FB on combo, early on, and even at the end of the combo for insane amout of damage, because his FB has the best damage scaling.
And what really piss me about that character is his easy as F** combos. There is simply no room for error, so he is f** safe on his combos and wont drop them, unlike many character, that have hard combos and often drops them and eat punish because of that.
Baraka, Jax and Kabal are the other characters that i really think are underplayed so far and i expect big things from this characters, especially from Baraka with his insane damage, due to his KBs.
