Ugh I hate the krypt rng for not letting me have the kiss brutality, its soooo good. It was in my brother’s first chest lol. I completed the krypt except for the place that requires Shinnok’s amulet, and I STILL DONT HAVE THE BRUTALITY :(

Semiij plays Kitana amazingly. He makes me pulling out Kitana out of the cryo again and again.
I just can't play that good and without that it is rather a frustration lol.

But probably knowing the match ups better will help playing with her in the long run too. She needs to know the match ups pretty well to play the neutral propely. Maybe more than other characters with better mix up tools which is match up independent. :)

I know this has probably been said before but why some special moves like squarewave (ground) and the "further" version of fanlift are not included in her basekit? They limit her soooo much and they also don't allow us to use other abilities. Plus, why the hell did they nerf her combo fans? I just realised she was able to combo off air fans and now she isn't. (I know late to the party :coffee:)

Kitana has some really great facial expressions without the mask. Gotta appreciate all the time and effort put into it.

Personally, I really hope they "fix" her back walk speed and revert her fan toss frame data the way it was. I say "fix" because it's like they changed the entire casts' walk speeds since the beta but left kitanas walk speed in pre-release speed lol. I think NRS wanted Fan-Fare to be this shimmy/ wiff punishing char (classic kitana) and Fan-Service to be a stagger/ counter zoning (pretty unique) char. I think the abysmal walk back speed makes it unnecessarily harder than it should be. NJP wiff punish is an option but it's often inconsistent even with float.

Plus, if I have to risk committing to a whole string and getting full combo punished (TFW you clip someone out of the air with b2 only to get full combo punished) at least let me be some sort of threat to the poke happy mashers. Because honestly (nobody says this), contesting with baby dick d3, long-ranged-but-oh-wait-it-still-wiffed d1, and long-ranged-but-oh-wait-10frames-oh-wait-it-still-gets-mashed-out-by-every-other-d4-oh-wait-its-not-that-useful d4, just isnt enough.

I think that this is the worst version of Kitana. MK9 and MKX she was wonderful, so fantastic.

In MK11, some fights feel like an uphill battle due to low damage output, so-so mix ups, no fan conversions.

I understand she never real had the greatest mix-ups and prior versions were also so-so, but...

1) Mileena back - FFS NRS WTF were you thinking?! Kitana but no Mileena?? Someone at NRS got waxed by Mileena and never healed from it. Still salty.

I think that this is the worst version of Kitana. MK9 and MKX she was wonderful, so fantastic.

In MK11, some fights feel like an uphill battle due to low damage output, so-so mix ups, no fan conversions.

She doesn't really need buffs, maybe some hitbox fixes (especially with her flawless block U2), and personally I'd like Highborne's Sai stab KB to be switched to landing three sai stabs so it's a more practical threat.

Exactly. I think in overall she's fine. She need small fixes, not buffs. They could fix random whiffs when you do ender of B231 343 (sometimes one kick whiffs and you are punishable). Also I think that either you should be able to stop the B231 string at B23 and make it hit confirmable from there or make it so B231 won't whiff when you hit your oponnent just when he started jumping. It's so stupid when you hit someone and get punished and there is nothing you can do about it.

As a Highborn player, the only changes I'd want to see right now is:

  • Seeking Sai does not disapper mid-flight if you get hit (once the projectile is properly out)
  • A little more consistency with Edenian Razor
  • Amplified Fan Throw is a Mid
If they wanted to allow her to more traditionally kombo off Fan Throws, I wouldn't argue either.

This. Her flawless block U2 is one of the worst, if not the worst, in the game. Highborne's Sai stab KB requirement is beyond ridiculous when you factor in getting hit cancels out the sai. The only other thing that needs some attention is Royal Protection either needs its buff duration increased and/or the ability to hold it to absorb multiple projectiles because as it currently stands the move is useless with regard to its intended purpose.

The Kitana discord found something very interesting....it would seem that our damage has been nerfed...but I can't find any patch notes or anything related to it...we think it's the J2s mid combo...i'll leave the gif of the combo before and then after the change.

After: I have also found it to be 365.66 rather then 385.99 myself on PS4, and other Kitana mains say that PC has the same thing as well.

I’m really not a fan of this stealth change approach NRS has taken to fixing things in the game. At the very least there should be patch notes whenever something is changed.
