Played long sets offline with king and king jr with starfire and had more success than dead shot due to the unpredictability in her zoning and her damage.

So conflicted bc I have so much time into my deadshot. But she has that "can I move now factor". DS zoning is 1+1=2. Its mechanical and can be easily walked down. A huge issue is deadshots damage. I watched tekken master BA foxy again at that over seas tournament. In one match foxy landed 12 combo starting hits with DS and tekken master landed 4 and still won that match. DS is good but u literally have to play perfect. Perfect.

A lot of talk about her being broken behind the scenes with a lot of top players. But that is common when a strong zoner comes around. They just want her nerfed. Justifiably or not
im having a hard time understanding if this character is broken or not, she could probably use a tone down on damage and her zoning is really good, but her closeup game seems really bad and gimmicky... like i wonder how this character will be after everyone has had significant time playing against her.... or does her zoning need some nerfs? or will that destroy the character... feels reminicent of potential tanya nerfs making the character go from high tier to trash

The only meaningful cross ups have her too high to convert and is punishable on block. Most of the setups can be backdashed. Have found legit mix yet

Is there any way to do this without risk? Because the opponent only needs to delay wakeup to not be crossed up and punish you because 2,1,3 ins't a hard knockdown.

What are the setups u are using? The hard knock downs?
The obvious one is B3 F3, (hit the F3 as late as possible so they are closer). In the corner you can do the same thing off a double F3 but the timing is harder. If you really want to make it easy but sacrifice some damage, use b12. You can also do a nj off b12 for an ambiguous j2/3

The b12 setup can be backdashed unfortunately

How does she do vs other zoners? I'm worried about getting outzoned as her. She's not built for approaching at all imo.

She seems good against Cyborg from my experience and seems like a potential win. I hear some people complain about Green Arrow, Fate and Superman, but I haven't gotten to play them so I'm not sure.

Beetle versus her is interesting, it seems like a back and forth type of match up.

Seems like a mixed bag.

When I get comfortable we can play the Beetle match up.

What am I missing with this character that makes her the 2nd coming of Jesus/Alien/Tanya?

I feel like people who just lose to her on ranked are selling mad bills about how good she is. She's good but not that good lol. I like how she plays tho so i'm gonna stick around for a bit.

Against zoners her main tools are Stardust and trait beam. If you can make trades in your favor she wins.

Fate is the worst one from the zoners, he simply beats her zoning by doing fireballs nonstop.
DS can be tough but stardust trades with low rifle and it'll beat the MB version too costing ds a bar.
Supes is even imo, whoever gets the right read lands big damage and a knockdown. Both have air options as well.
Batman from far away loses, but he fucks her up upclose, even her broke anti airs can't stop bats' j2.
Beetle beats her, but if you keep switching between zoning and offense it becomes more even.
Darkseid is an asshole coz trades are never in your favor, but she can beat his teleports free with b2. Your zoning is mainly trait against him as everything else is a trade in his favor and you get knocked down as well.

Supergirl isnt exactly a zoner but she's starfire's worst matchup by far imo.

Yeah Fate seems to outzone her clean.

I need some of y'all to play my Ivy. I haven't ran the MU yet and I keep hearing how Ivy wins this, so I want to see for myself.

I use starfire also so I'm willing to run it on either character.

Ivy wins this slightly for a few reasons. For one drill tracks where stardust doesn't, which means she can do it all day and it'll give Ivy a knockdown no matter what move SF uses and SF can't punish it on block like FTD.
The other thing is bark skin, the reason SF's zoning is annoying is the massive chip stardust does but Ivy can negate that.
Lastly there's trait which she can also use to definitely win the zoning war and to pressure.

Upclose Ivy wins imo but SF isnt helpless, Ivy's f3 and b2 are a problem as they'll blow up almost everything but SF has some tools to compete like b3, f2 and MB stardust.

I got ya. Quick summary, Starfire is a hard zoner with amazing meter building potential. She has damage unlike some of the other hard zoners.

Bnbs
Meterless punisher: 113xxdb3 4
Meterless f3 at full range: f3 f2xxdb2 d1xxdb3 4
Close f3: f3 ji2 113xxdb3 4
Meterless b3: b3 ji3 113xxdb3 4
Meterless neutral tool, 21xxb db1 4

B2 can be used to anti air, and combo afterwards.

B2 b3 ji3 113xxdb3 4
You can also do this combo of the b2 has landed on the ground

Meter punisher
D1xxMB db1 b3 ji3 113xxdb3 4
21 and 3 also combo into mb db1

If you want to use meter in the b/f3 combo, meter for the armor

With Starfire having great meter build bounce cancel combos are viable

B1 b3 bounce cancel ji3 113xxdb3 4
21 is also strong here

Great meter build block string 113xxc stardust 4
If the opponent traders with with stardust with d1, you can convert the trade with d1xxmb stardust b3 ji3 113xxdisco party

Corner combos

With meter
B1, 21, 23, 11, d1, 3 all combo into mb orb

If you want to make that 10/10 I replace the ender 113xxdb3 with d1xxdb3
