I am laughing only because I feel your pain. For me the answer has been Practice Mode. It is a rhythm thing. There is a 'beat' after the input of the 3, her foot goes up and just as it begins the descent I put in the B3.
I would concur that practice helps you find the right time and get a good flow going with it. It's definitely doable, even as someone that has struggled with some high execution stuff before. I'm at a point that I generally get it full time as long as I don't start doubting myself or thinking about it (keeping in mind that I've not played online a whole lot and I think it's been a little less reliable there for me.)

I would suggest that anyone giving out timing advice on visual queues be careful. What a person sees is going to vary considerably depending on their personal display lag. Visual timing advice from someone on a low lag monitor is going to be very difficult to consume by someone using a laggy TV, because moment they are looking for will have come and gone by the time they see what the low lag person is saying to look out for.

It makes it tough to really communicate what works and what doesn't. If I had to take a stab at how to time it, I'd say I do think is only the slightest, perceivable bit after returning to neutral. Whatever the display situation is, a person should do F23 then press/hold directions and buttons to try and hunt for when their button presses do and don't come out in order to figure out when she is actually hitting neutral (for their specific setup.) When they find it, start inputting B3's around that moment regardless of what they see.

One (questionable) shortcut may be to pick Superman and try to side switch under him using shield bash after doing a F23. That only works right at the return to neutral. If you can find that moment, then I think you are probably only about 1 frame away from finding the right moment for your F23 B3 link. It's questionable because the timing is rough and unreliable. Just something I noticed that might help someone needing to try another approach.

I imagine it could be very frustrating for anyone using a device with significant delay. The window isn't long and if it's not making sense visually, then they may have a hard time getting their mind to do things at the right time.

I would be curious what the display situation is for people having trouble hitting it vs the people that are somewhat comfortable with it.

These are very good points. I always try to give visual cues as a guide but it never clicked me about other people's display lag.

Hi all, I usually try to find info on my own before asking noob questions, but I haven't played an NRS game since UMK3, I am new to TYM (but I have read almost everything post in this thread), and I am struggling with some concepts in this game, so please bare with me.

- Are there invincible reversals in this game? Does Wonder Woman have any?

- Does switching stances mean anything or is it just for looks?

- Is she really viable in this game? I'm going to stick with her either way and I know it's too early to tell, but I've read what most of you have said and from what I've played so far, nearly every MU seems unfavorable. I have to work my ass off to get in against zoners and 'staying in' doesn't last very long.

- Is it best to just inch forward and duck and repeat to get in against most zoners? Some projectiles (Aqua's trident, Darkseid's normal laser) have a tall hitbox and it's very hard to jump over them.

- How useful is her parry? I've read that you can 11 or d12 after a parry. This is true every attack, even plus attacks?

- Does NRS typically make drastic changes when balancing? A lot of people really want her to have a normal air dash. Is this just wishful thinking or could it actually happen?

Hi and welcome to the forums, to answer your questions:

1. There are invincible reversals in the game. There is a thread somewhere which showcases all the moves that are fully or part invincible on wakeup. For WoWo she has Upward Shield Bash (db3) which is fully invincible.

2. Switching stance is just for looks in the neutral although some people use the move to bait a reaction in the neutral game. The button is also now used for delayed wakeup when you are knocked down.

3. Viability.....is questionable depending on who you ask. I feel she has her issues but no one outright destroys her....yet lol. I personally think she has enough to compete but she really showcases your strengths/weaknesses as a player. There is nothing to abuse or hide behind, but with good play and reads she is serviceable.

4. Inching forward is an option as is jumping, parrying projectiles, walking forward and MB Roll. There is no sure fire away to approach all zoners but a mix of all depending on the patterns of the zoner will help you get in.

5. Her parry is very useful but requires studying the roster's options. There are a couple of threads which lists which strings have gaps that can be parried and punished. It is worth finding and practicing parrying the gaps. It can give a strong pyschological edge if you showcase you can remove an opponent's option by parrying into a full combo.

6. Usually they do but they seem to be taking their time now. As for air dash becoming a base move, I say there is little to no chance of that happening but I could be wrong.

Is there a discord for Wonder Woman? I'm not going to get all into discussions of tiers. I have my list of who I think is the best, but I refuse to sit in forums & continue to milk something into the ground. If a character doesn't seem fun, I just try to find someone else & go quietly. And besides, I usually play what I like whether I'm competing or not. Honestly, a lot of people who discuss character listings aren't as good as they think they are or they'd like to think they are *myself included, but this is why I only mention who's who & move on*. They'd rather loom around instead of actually play. Others go by hearsay.

But yeah I'm in the Injustice discord, just would like to see a discord for Wonder Woman. I'm trying to play her as much as possible. If she doesn't do well with certain characters, then Supergirl & Batman has her back. But I'm not going to make excuses.

I have heard that you can't avoid command grabs by neutral jumping. That you have to use a normal that makes your character airborne. It didn't appear to me that WW has any normals that do this. Is her Up Shield Bash the only move she has that is airborne?

Also, is there a section I should be asking these noob questions in or is this thread acceptable?

I thought you could neutral jump to avoid the command throw, but the command throws normally have good recovery so it'd be tough to punish it. I'd think if you want to punish a command throw you could try a meter burn B3? I'm also a noob so I really hope this is the secton to ask noob questions.

Wonder Woman is a solid character. She might not be top 5 but I'd argue top 10. People that are raging about her sucking and being trash are still in stage 1 of the "Wonder Woman grief cycle." It goes like this:

1. Anger/Outrage: "Why the fuck did they change her so much from Injustice 1!" or "She gets zoned out so hard this character is fucking stupid!" or "NRS buff everything she has because if not she's going to be dumpster shit tier for life!"

2. Depression: "Why am I not playing Black Adam?" or "This character is nothing like I expected."

3. Acceptance: "NRS probably won't overhaul the entire character the way I want" or "Maybe I should start labbing stuff that I personally struggle with?"

4. Enlightenment: "You know, she actually has a lot of strengths, even / favorable matchups, and seems to reward high level play. To really recognize her potential I need to level up by learning parry windows/punishes, frame data, improving footsies, and work on matchup specific strategy" or "Gal Gadot was super fucking rad in the movie so I'm going to stick with the character."

Pretty much yep. You right.

She's honest. In a dirty game like inj2 she's can be played very honest & in some ways dirty.

She's got great damage. All her traits are good. Nice footsies and spacing. Her parry is very quick. Lots of great things about her but she does need a lil help. All the wiffing issues suck but over all I love her.

I play her more then Atrocitus and he's my main because I'm old school and I love honest, basic, simple characters.

People keep saying you can only parry one hit in some people's strings/specials but you can usually parry them all if you're fast enough.

Go into practice and use superman's flying punch MB / Scarecrow death spin / Atrocitus rage charge until you learn to parry every hit on their special.
I don't know if you have to be fast to parry all of them or if there is a timing to parry. I play on hitbox so I can parry fast enough.

Kiko

Face it, you're done.

There is definitely a timing lol, when the attack hits the first parry, the next will be ready to go for the upcoming attack (needs to be done as the first hit is landing).

I said quick because you have to do it in rapid succession. :)

Honestly, from what I've seen, she just needs her gaps to be fixed because of what type of character she is. The trait & normals are there to stay, so IDK people keep posting about it. On top of that, there's nothing that you really can do to change them lol! She's fun to me. So I play her anyway. It really does me no good to keep complaining nor to keep discussing it with people who aren't trying to play her for what she is. That's the problem with forums anyway. People would rather spend time discussing characters & politic rather than play. Then, they suggest changes that would only benefit "them" & not the entire cast. Not how balancing works lol. She's one of my favorite characters in the DC Universe too ( & yes Gal Gadot did the damn thing in the movie, I loved every minute of it).

EDIT:
- Clean up some gaps
- Give her more cross up potential in her legs' buff (airdash)

Isn't it weird that the Shield buff that enhances shield attacks doesn't actually add any damage to her shield toss? It eats projectiles but maybe it should do a little bit of more damage don't you think

That first part makes sense. I'm not sure about a MB b3, but then again, I know nothing about how NRS games work.

What's up my people? Would someone mind sharing a current Discord invitation for the Wonder Woman channel please?
