Not pressing R1 hahahaha
Like in the movelist it's super confusing.

It says "headbutt" up on left analog + X, Square. Then the "headbutt riposte" says down on right analog and Square. Then "headbutt combo" down on right analog, Square, R1.

I was expexting the riposte to be the attack, not even sure what the riposte actually does. I thought the combo was something else.

It goes from high risk/reward to high reward no risk if you get the timing down. I'm the kind of guy that wants to get that timing down pat.

Yeah, but I feel like it is a tighter timing. Its not as immediate as a parry, The attack has to start up and get in to its 'counter frames' before it will catch the opponents attack. Its something that we may absolutely all learn to time perfectly, but the way it works feels way more difficult to me, so in pressure situations or when you dont have the life to risk miss-timing it, it becomes a dangerous gambit. I feel like if Warden's are able to perfect this and land it with the ease/consistency of a parry, its actually a tad OP.. It does bonkers damage and intercepts and inc attack, and even if it doesnt, theres a change the top light is just fast enough to interupt, or cause problems for the opponent anyway.. Imagine a world where any top attack thrown at a warden results i a quarter of your health simply evaporating. Dont get me wrong, Im a Warden main (I decided to drop all pocket characters and not try this one of each nonesense and just find one character and grind) but I already feel like our class has a target painted on it - I dont want to be nerfed. lol.

@Juggs

That's interesting.. Maybe you have really tight natural parry timing? Cause its a really different timing for me. Im also on PC, so maybe there is a difference?

Yeah I don't parry until the last possible frame to avoid trying to parry feints, it took some practice and I don't do it 100% consistently.

Seriously though, I really dislike playing randoms in matchmaking. They either suck, have a horrid 3rd world country connection, or are actually decent and only play you one match then leave. Also some of the better players seem to get hella salty. I figured I would never get hatemail in this game since you can't see recent players, but they must just search my name. People don't like Warden too much it seems.
I love hatemail.

If they took the time to send you a message, you left an impression.

ProTip: If your opponent is out of stamina, stop trying to guardbreak him.

I know if you land a GB when they're out of stamina you get a knockdown throw, aka max damage, but your opponent knows this too. He WILL tech the GB 9/10 times. What you should do is pressure the hell out of him with attacks, you have virtually no risk. If you get parried so what? They can't follow up the parry with anything while out of stamina. If you keep trying to GB and they keep teching, they will get their stamina back and reset the neutral.

When playing Warlord, if you're not vs PK or Nobu you can just headbutt forever it's the free-est dmg.
Also has no one suggested/thought of nerfing fast Unblockables by making them cost more stamina or simply not taking stamina away from the receiver? At the very least it would be a good normization to Warlord. Maybe even Conq/Warden

True but you can just dodge the headbutt and regen your stamina, the only problem is how fast the headbutt is.

Honestly all Warlords headbutt needs nerf wise is longer start up frames. Like maybe add 4 more frames of start up so it's easier ro react to.

What do you guys think of the Beserker? It just seems to me that the character is slept on.

Punishes hard. Great mixups etc. I hardly ever hear the character get mentioned in discussions and that surprises me tbh.

Yeah, I don't try to GB much when they are out of stamina. I always misu right at them, almost everyone expects a cancel into GB so they get bopped. Or misu into empty cancel into pressure. I try not to throw a ton of attacks at then except quick stuff that I don't think they will Parry, but will more than likely block. Getting parried by some OOS is a great way to give them a ton of time to regen on top of eating your own stamina.

I played a match earlier where I canceled a heavy, did misu, empty canceled that, dodged then misu'd, empty canceled, top heavy that I canceled into GB that I then misu'd and canceled the misu into a GB.

Why? Because fuck if I know. My brain was screaming MIND GAMESSSSSSSSSS while I chained together a long line of shit that amounted to absolutely nothing with no purpose. The guy just typed a ?... I had. I answer. So I misu'd him to death.

Yea you can dodge the headbutt but it's a read. Once you're conditioned to dodging then it's ez gb into god knows what.

Warlord is strong, but I think everyone is overemphasizing just how strong. I play Conq and I drain his stamina before ever making the first move. It works well. Get him to Headbutt. Dodge and back off. Get him to swipe. Dodge and back off. Get him to Guard Break. Counter and Shield Bash. Then, read his bar to rinse and repeat or go ham. Instead of breaking down every exchange so that you win, manage bars so that the one you win ends it.

Character is slept on because he's worse in almost every way to peacekeeper. I actually think his only strength worth noting is his exhaustion combo doing a shitload. I also guess he has the best deflect, which could become more useful if parries get nerfed in the future.

I think he's cool but there's no real reason to play as Berserker over PK at the moment.

The only characters that can even come close to dealing with him are the top tier. Conq is top so he has ways to deal with him.

So, top tier is WL, PK, Ward, Conq, and Shu. That just leaves Oro, Valk, Berz, Nob, LB, Raid, and Ken to find a way. Of those, I think only LB and the Ken are truly lost. With that in mind, slow the Headbutt a tad or make it punishable and just help these two classes out a little with a new tool.

The only nerf warlord needs is not being able to counter guard break when in full block him and conq needs that nerf. His headbutt is easy to counter if you just through lights out when your expecting headbutt. when i play against warlords thats all i do it stops them 90 percent of the time and then they don't spam headbutt anymore. If you nerf headbutt you ruin warlord its that simple he needs nerfs to his full guard thats what makes him over the top good.

Headbutt is literally all he has on offense and its easily stoped if your expenting it

I never use the all-block except to taunt so I'm good with that.

I know I don't know it all, but I don't want drastic changes. I play Conq so as long as they don't mess with him much, I'm good.
