Shoutout to INFIL. He kept it real in this interview man and hopefully capcom takes notice
Dammmmnnnnnnn, I have always liked Infil (Decapre player BOIS) but after that interview my respect for him as gone up quite a bit. I feel like a lot of pros don't say anything, or arent publicly critical because of fear of back lash from the public, sponsors/advertisers and the FGC at large.. but he clearly just laid shit out.
I dont agree with everything he said, for instance I dont mind the DP changes and I feel like they reason they were changed wasnt to make the game easier for new players.. It actually makes it harder for them because they no longer have a semi i-win button.. Every one of us here has played the newb Ken or Ryu player who just mashes his face off.. Its wrong, but to him, it feels like a powerful option he can exploit. I think the issue with DPs in V though was the difference they made given the way V is played.. Characters that had them just TOTALLY changed the dynamic of a match vs characters that didnt. No, they weren't OP, but they created a power gap that was significant. I dont see the harm in needing to spend a bar, given how much they potentially grant you.. I feel like non-ex DPs shouldn't be CCable though. but anyway,
I disagree with some of the things he said, but agree with most, and I definitely agree with the spirit of the video. I am liking S2 a lot so far.. I dont feel like Akuma is weak, but who knows, maybe Im totally wrong here, as Akuma's mixups and setups and such are discovered and players learn to play against them, maybe he will end up on the weaker end due to his health but with his toolset, damage potential and his ability to pressure on a KD, i dont think he's ever really going to be bad - BUt I do hope we dont see him relegated to a character who either WINS or LOSES.. I dont like characters like that personally.
SUPER glad he's looking at Ibuki.. She's still my fav character and Id love to see what he could do with her.
