I don't know if petitions changes anything but in this way, we can see how many people are not happy with the situation. it's gotta be at least one hundred thousand people who are really disappointed with the situation. I am one of them.
Don't be naive. News of this was plastered all over many gaming sites. These signatures could easily be from people who don't even own the game but wanted to show support. Their decision was probably made by the dwindling playerbase on PC, even after optimization was improved. Realistically speaking, if they did release KP2 on PC I wouldn't expect active-player numbers to be anywhere near the petition's 9k signs but who knows. The player count dropped fast and it seemed that a lot of people didn't really give it a 2nd chance.

I appreciate the effort of those that are still bringing up the issue to NRS/WB in a civil manner via social media. It's been a little harder for me to care lately since I've been on SFV but if KP2 ever did drop on PC, I'd get it for sure.

This whole situation could have gone so differently.

If WBIE would have hired a competent company to do the port, the steam reviews would have probably been 75% positive or higher. This would have given people more faith in the game, and the playerbase would be several times what it is now. Another plus would be, less people buying from grey market websites out of fear of being burned. In this scenario, MKX ends up being the highest selling FG for PC in 6 months time. I really believe that.

people who don't even own the game? What are you talking about? Why would they care if they didn't buy or want to buy the game. Did you ever play single player mode for hours except the story mode? It is the most boring thing you can do. This game is nothing without multiplayer online mode and there are dozens of games they can enjoy playing single player.

I agree with you. Having said that, I do give WBIE credit for ultimately dumping High Voltage Software and contracting QLOC to clean the PC version up. QLOC did an excellent job, and the PC version is in great shape outside of the lack of current console updates and content.

Hiring QLOC is far more than I expected WBIE to ever do. Which is why the silence and lack of additional content is all the more frustrating. They really did show good support for the PC version, and then walked away...

People who don't own the game have signed the petition; some of said signers have posted this and I'm sure there's others who haven't. I'm not sure how many though. Console-only players have also signed the petition.

As for Single Player, I have and do, it's my most played mode. Mostly Single Fight these days, but also Klassic Tower on occasion. I mainly play on Hard, and on occasion Very Hard. I only play Online with buddies since they're closer and the connection is usually better.

Check the MKX Steam forum. There are thousands of complaints about the situation. There will be tens of thousands people who wanna buy the game if Nrs fix and support the game.

I frequent the Steam board, as you should know if you go there.

I also fail to see what checking the board to see the thousands of complaints has to do with the fact that some people who've signed the petition do not own the game, and that I also enjoy playing the AI Offline.

I'm looking at this through an entirely different lens.

The way I see it, we were all sold an Early Access game, all of us, PC, PS4, and XBox One. However, unlike with other Early Access titles, we were not informed that this was the case. We all funded the games continued development, while only 2 platforms made it out of beta on March 1st. Characters are missing entire combo strings, stage fatalities are absent, stages are missing, and most importantly, we are stuck with the placeholder net-code. So, I don't have it in me to give WBIE credit, for hiring QLOC, to put some polish on the beta for us. I'll be happy to give them credit, when they finish the game and not a moment sooner.

at least those of us who feel that XL overnerfed a bunch of characters, the pc edition will always be an option if u want to go back to playing pre patch tremor, tanya, Lao, Quan, etc :D

I disagree with this though since Mortal Kombat X is not early access and is not a beta.

Not yet. We can probably take our hints from steamdb activity, unless they plan to launch a new store page for XL.
That one support rep you spoke to was speculating that new content would come by the holidays, correct?

So that's still a while away where lots of things, good and bad, can happen.
