The saltiest you've ever gotten in this game? Salty stories!

The saltiest I have gotten playing this game was yesterday at a local tournament and not for the reasons you might expect either.

I won the tournament but I was pissed. Why, you ask? Because the 18 - 19 year old kid that beat me at a tourny 2 weeks ago was there and the little bitch decided not to enter at the last second.

Here's a recap of what went down.

- 2 weeks ago I lose in grand finals to the kid's Kang
- During those 2 weeks leading up to yesterday's tourny, I hit the lab HARD. I made my execution better, I learned the best ways to punish his character mistakes, I went in and learned how to use his character so I could see what his weakness were, and really just preparing over all.
- Friday night are causals at Cal Poly. He was there and we had a After we set up started having a few sets which he won a majority of because I had to use a pad instead of my stick, which I was cool with.
- Saturday Morning is the Tourny. I get to the location early to start setting up for the Tournaments that day ( I am one of the T.O's) . About 15 minutes after I get there the other T.O arrives as well as the Kid that beat me and we start helping get the rest of our equipment in. While doing this he makes some cocky smart ass remarks, the one that stood out was "I hope your prepared"
- After getting everything setup, people start getting in some causals before the tourny began. Well he wanted to play me in a few matches so I obliged. Today, though, I had my stick.....
- I only used my main (reptile) when he wanted to fight him. I used Kang, Raiden, Sub, and Noob the rest of the times. Well he didnt win a match against my reptile and had a hard time with my secondary fighters as well. He used Lao, Cage, Kang, and Cyrax.
- He only gave my Kang trouble with his cyrax. so after he won a couple matches as cyrax he wanted to try him against reptile. well we played 2 matches in which he lost and that was the end of causals.
- Then as role call for the tourny begins everyone notices that the kd that WON the last tourny was not entered. He said I'm not entering because " I can't beat him today so I'm not entering"

I was PISSED, I mean he fucking won the last tourny and he was going to be entering in this tourny before casuals and then he Bitched out.

Although I wouldnt have just not play, but if that was his reason for not joining, then LOL. But if he had other reasons, oh well. "I hope your prepared" isnt really a smart ass remark, its more of a competitive urk IMO.

Yes true but you had to be there to get the full context of the smart ass part. Honestly I didnt care that he said it. But in conjunction with him bitching out is why I called it a smartass remark.

That sucks, but you are obviously the better "player" regardless of who would have won or lost. Just keep that in your mind, every time you see him in the future.

I foam at the fucking mouth when somebody FINALLY accepts a match with me, I scroll down the roster to pick Kenshi, and they have compatibility packs for Skarlet, Rain and Freddy. But not Kenshi.

I get angry enough if they don't have any of the compatibility packs, but to have all of the compatibility packs except for Kenshi is fucking infuriating. I can see their tampon strings from space. So then I float around the character select screen for a bit trying to decide what character won't bore me to use for two rounds, as they wait patiently to see who I pick so they can pick Scorpion. Which makes me even angrier. So I babality them and decline to rematch.

This happens to me but it turns out to be that there's Skarlet and Kenshi, but no Rain.
And I know exactly why:

Compatibility pack 1 = MK3 Cyrax and Sektor = bomb trap.
Compatibility pack 2 = MK2 Noob Saibot and Smoke = OTG Smoke bomb.
Compatibility pack 3 = MK2 Kitana and Jade = no exploitable glitches.

Go figure.

I was using Cage and I had no reliable anti airs against her. But then I remembered I had my x-ray.

So I just stood still, baiting her. She jumped.

BAM! X-ray! 50% combo achieved and I won!

From salty to happy in 10 seconds.

Lmao I did that once. Wasn't losing at all but just wanted to punish them in the most extreme way possible. Also, I lost to ridiculously bad sheeva player the other day who did nothing but fireball, stomp, and uppercut. I was Sub...and lost.

It really gets to you knowing that you could have destroyed them too lol.

Lol Darkhood, that's pretty stupid. If you're already AT the goddamn tournament, there's no reason for you not to enter. I mean, I had originally planned to go to Summer Jam (but chickened out a little due to Irene) and I wouldn't have expected to go very far in the tourny, but that's not a reason not to go.

Some saltiness from me:

I get extremely salty when I play Ermacs, especially average-level Ermacs, who seem to act like the CPU. Like, EVERY GODDAMN TIME I'm in range, the split second I release block = teleslam/telepush. I think "wait for it, wait for it.... he's not doing anything... instant air fan! Wait, how the hell did he get me at that exact moment?"

Just an update on that Frogirth character. If doing player match and i pull him, he'll sit at the screen not doing anything, wont accept. Waits for me to say no so he wont be the one doing it. refuses to challenge. Seek him out, he's such an ass.

Welcome to TYM, hopefully your stay here will give you better sportsmanship. And nope, i beat alot of your toons with my tsung, we had some good matches. Then you play ur sheeva who's pretty good I must say. I don't know sheeva, but i morphed into her and you didnt move from stomp so I capitalized it. We had some good back and forth matches with different toons from then on after you got mad salty and I told you GG's and you were like "NOT REALLY" I told you every loss is a learning experience. Then you sent me a friend request. Fast foward a week later, we play one game, my shitty lao against an ermac you obviously know. My message wasn't a salty message to you. IRC correctly I stated that it had nothing to do with you and I kept getting caught in his unblockable 44% dmg combos cause my lao is terrible. Once again i'll repeat it wasn't stated at you but the character. And I told you that I got salty over keep getting caught cause I made terrible mistakes. You know the kind of message people figuring things out make. Dunno how you took that personally. You then proceeded to repeat what i said out of no where, and defriend me. And avoid me for weeks. I think you might wanna re-read the message if you have it. Cause you clearly took it the wrong way. Just found it funny when you had your attitude problem when I sent you a sincere GG's and you spit in my face, then I see a few other players here mention your name over the same type of thing. Perfect for the salty thread though.

EDIT: haha though, salty situations turning salty players into salty friends (maybe?). Only the salty thread. Bringing the community together over anger.

Saltiest ive ever got must have been when i was fighting this scorpion user online who had first class horrible connection and just kept jumping and randomly teleport punching and mostly his fighting style consisted of 100% lag set-ups. My dash block cancels weren´t coming out right and when i did block his random telepunch the lag was so horrible i couldn´t land my punish combo and he ended up wining the match and leaving afterwards with a myriad of slander on the chat screen how hes the god of fighting games..... ugh i instantly pressed my PS home button and turned the system off threw my controller on the sofa and took a silent moment just thinking how i would brutally assault this person if i ever would meet him IRL

My stupid noob friend! When he comes over and plays offline with me i own him so bad we have even made drinking games out of it, but thats another story.

Thing is, he's not that bad but at the same time he's not good. One time he was at my house playing and after a couple hours of getting his ass handed to him he left kinda pissed raging and shit, after 2 or 3 hours the guy goes online and sends me an invite. He utterly destroyed me time after fucking time online, i mean its like the lag suddenly jumped his characters 5 tiers above what they normally are, I honestly believe he gave his account to another person or something lol. He beat like me 12-4 or something like that. That happened over a month ago, guy won't shut up about it still, i've beaten him like 100 times after that and the douche keeps reminding me lol.

I usually dont get mad at this game. If i get owned by someone whos good i give him props, if i lose due to lag i just go "FUCK" or something alone those lines. I've never sent hatemail. The one time i got mad was when I was facing a noob who had the worst connection ever, and all of his shadow charges kept hitting me. Im pretty sure it was lagswitching because the first round it was perfectly fine. I lost the match and nearly broke my controller but then I said "if he spams...what if I do it too?". I rematched him, picked Scorpion and spammed the living shit out of teleport and he didnt block it once LOL. It was laggy the whole game but the 2nd round i got a flawless victory and finished it off with the klassic fatality

now it might be a prick move to fight back spam with your own, but you gotta play dirty sometimes in this game. The guy sent me a typical "FUCK U BITCH" msg at the end of the game. Was laughing

I just faced a guy who played as Noob. ALL he did was d4,d4,d4, instant jump kick, teleport and shadow.

It was the most annoying experience Ive had in a while. I won probably 10 and lost 2.

Had myself a salt mine tonight. I was trying out Sektor to pick him up, and I lost to a Sub. No problem, until Subby teabagged me the entire fatality timer through.

Why? It's not an FPS, you just look like a damn child doing it.

Luckily, I salvaged the mood by beating him a few times after with Smoke and Kabal.

Earlier today I was playing in KoTH against two people over and over.
I had a 15-20 win streak at the time, this guy comes in and boo's me and gives me zero's.

When it's our turn to fight he picks Cyber Sub-Zero and Tea-Bags the WHOLE match.
So after I win, I tea-bag him relentlessly.
I then send him a message reading;
"YOUR GUNNA LOVE MY NUTS!!!"

Case closed.
