I've already accepted the fact that Sektor most likely won't be returning and I'm fine with that.
As long as the game is fun to play and has other cool characters I'm fine.

MK9 characters I feel are very unlikely to reappear (as playable):
- Johnny Cage
- Sonya
- Nightwolf
- Sheeva
- Stryker
- Jade
- Kung Lao
- Sindel
- Kabal
- Rain
- Freddy Krueger

MK9 characters that may return, but in new forms:
- Smoke - As a cyborg since he was in high demand in MK9.
- Cyber Sub-Zero/Noob Saibot - I'm guessing the Sub-Zero we've seen so far is Noob Saibot reborn after the soulnado incident. If not, he has a high probability of reappearing as something new.
- Liu Kang - Evil fire god, anyone? Doubt he'll be a zombie again.


Characters that are almost guaranteed to appear:
- Shinnok
- Quan Chi
- Raiden
- An Edenian female ninja. Either Kitana or a descendant.
- Ermac
- Kenshi - If Ermac is in, you can bet your ass he is too.
- Descendant of Kano, or a new leader of the Red/Black dragon clan.
- Descendant of (Great) Kung Lao, if not Bo Rai Cho.
- A token character. Jax has a shot!

Toss-ups:
- Mileena
- Reptile
- Sektor
- Cyrax
- Shang Tsung
- Skarlet
- Kano (maybe as a full cyborg)
- Baraka

I think we should embrace the change. With the new characters that have already been announced, I have faith that NRS knows the so-called "requirements" a newcomer needs to be able to successfully fit in the MK universe. After all, you can only be creative with the same characters for so long before they begin to recycle old ideas. I wouldn't worry about it.

Kintaro's got as much personality as Goro, and both their personalities boil down to "rawr monster, i'll kill you, my race is best race".

I mean he probably could get whatever 4 armed broad he wants, but that's only because he can literally make them his since he's more than likely the most or one of the most powerful men in his race.

Some of you people disappoint me. I know, you're all welcome to your opinions, but some of you are just throwing the game away because they're trying to add new characters to the game. Why the hell is that a bad thing? At some point, every character was new, so why can't you guys just give them a damn chance.

P.S. This isn't necessarily about the people in this thread, but on the site as a whole, I've seen this complaint a lot.

You don't even know if they're fucking out of the game yet. Why the hell are you "loathing" him right now? Even so, the game's not really built around you, or me, or anybody else. Why the fuck does it matter to him if your mains are removed? His job isn't to make sure your mains are in the game, but to make the game good. I don't care if your fucking mains are Sub-Zero and Scorpion and they're taken out of the fucking game. There are always other characters, so fucking learn to use them.

I personally don't care at this point. What I've seen with the new characters, I'm perfectly happy with introducing new characters and only having a few old ones.

The new characters they've shown are INFINITELY more interesting than ANY character post-MK4. Keep it up, NRS. I'd rather have new characters than some of the shitters you guys are asking for from Deadly Alliance and Armadeddon. Fuck...I'd prefer to pretend those characters never existed in the MK universe.

A lot of them came back though in Armageddon. :) In fact that's kinda of a trend in some other games, If I think about it.

Anyway I don't think it was so much as fuck new characters, new characters are great, IF these characters are quality game play, design, aesthetically etc.. the majority of characters of the 3d games I wouldn't throw into those categories. But then again the 3d games weren't exactly putting too much effort into that.

Havik, Hotaru, Rain, and Motaro are my favorite MK characters. In MK9, I learned to accept that Motaro was a fucking death cameo. And with the knowledge that MKX probably won't include MKDA-MKD characters, I have no hopes for Havik or Hotaru. Rain? I can just forget about him.

So why am I so excited for MKX? Because I'm gonna main the shit out of Kotal Kahn.

I feel like with the kind of technology they have now and the kind of creative freedom they have, a lot of shitters from DA -> A could actually become somebody special. Remember what they did for Jade and Stryker and even Sheeva in MK9 with a fresh coat of paint and a proper movelist. Guys like Dairou (Especially the two sword version that was never allowed to live), Drahim, Hotaru, Havik, and Ashrah who weren't exactly big fucking jokes but still came across that way cause of how stupid the games were might still be salvageable.

I think people have a right to be upset to see their old favorite not returning. MK9 seemed like it was going to be a reboot. A way to make every character young and fresh again. Now we're going to go ahead and kill or write them off anyways? I'm a little upset about it to be honest because I love almost all of the old characters and if none of my favorite 5 are in the game then it will be difficult to get as excited as I could be if they were returning.

That being said I haven't ever missed out on a MK Game yet and I don't plan on changing that now. I just hope that MK doesn't pull a Deadly Alliance and introduce a bunch of poo-poo characters.

You just nailed it. MK9 was a reboot to reinvent the characters. Now it's time for progression, and that's what MKX is for. They never.....trying to refrain from using fuck for me is hard......said that it was a reboot for games to reinvent in future games as well. They went from reinventing, to innovation.
