Delay the MB on shield toss for as long as possible, gives you more time to connect B3Anyone have any input tips for b3 after mb st?
I'm almost always blocked. I know I'm doing the b3 input wrong..but I'm not sure what exactly
Ah okay. Thanks! Gonna practice that later on today. It can be pretty demoralizing to not be able to do her high damage combosDelay the MB on shield toss for as long as possible, gives you more time to connect B3
You can use it to parry gaps in strings like Grodds 22. You can parry on reads if you think someone will try to go for a poke like GLs plus 1 string. I use it alot on Robin and Superman players. At the start of the match I just walkback on Superman and if he f23's, the f2 will whiff but you can parry the last hit and you will full combo punish him for it.I've been working on my Wonder Woman since the patch and I wanted to get some advice on using the parry. Is this a viable option for certain match ups? Is there a trick to using it well? So far my only use is against slow projectiles to get a bit of meter and take no chip. Any tips or advice?
Thank you a million, I didn't realize there were so many ways to use the parry during their pressure. I'll have to lab these situations a bit, but I'm sure I'll get a lot more milage out the parry just from these uses alone. You can use it to parry gaps in strings like Grodds 22. Robin you can parry his birdarang easily and turtle with a life lead. Same thing applies to the Beetle and Batman mu. You can also parry the gap in Robins mb dp and get a full combo every time. Alot of Ranked Robins like going that assassin Srtike from fullscreen for whatever reason but I parry it until they start canceling it. Brainacs dk you can parry the gap in mb dk but he can make his dk gapless if the Brainiac player does it either around your toes or instant. Not sure if 1 or both. So I usually don't use parry against him but it is an option. You can also parry his trait. Again kinda risky since he can call his trait whenever and he can punish your parry attempt if he's close to you so be wary at were he is at.
Other traits you can parry are Harleys Hyenas, Darkseids demons, Ivys pukeys spit balls or whatever tf its called.
I also use parry on b3/f3 happy characters like Aquaman, Crow, Starfire or Ivy on reaction. I'm not sure if you can reverse your input on f3s that can crossup like Batman's, GLs or Flash's. FYI you can not parry Cheetahs f3 or Flashs b3 since they hit twice.
Cyborgs 112 has a gap you can parry. I'm starting to parry Atrocitous' f2 and have been able to hit or trade a hit before he can finish his string. I think that 1 Cheetah string that's like mid low overhead overhead or whatever. I think its 332? Well you can backdash whatever string that is and if you see the Cheetah player finish the string, the last hit you can parry after you backdash and you can blow her up for it.
I've run into some maniac joker players that like to crowbar in neutral. So parry blows that up and get a hefty b3 meterless combo punish that. Same goes for wakeup happy Blue Beetle or Red Hood players. But mist of the time I don't fight ppl who usually do those things but you never know until you start noticing patterns from ranked players.
These are the things off of the top of my head that I parry. So hope this helps.
The recovery decreases with each strike parried. Yes you can get all three of FatesOn beating mutlihitting attacks, I wasn't sure I could parry again in time. There is enough time to parry the full Dr. Fate mb projectiles? Does parry become cancelable on hit? I haven't had a chance to get back to the game for a minute, but I need to test this stuff when I get back on.
Started playing around with the parry into backdash thing after reading this. Supes was running over me for a long while until I found out I was letting him doing a bunch of unnecessary stuff to me. The idea of having a "you can't touch me" answer to MB laser is very appealing.Adding to what the esteemed legend that is Yoaks said, I like parry a lot because it is a core part of WW's lore anew the books are why we bought the game.
You can with practice and timing parry multihitting attacks like Supermans meter burn flying punch or Dr Fates meter burn projectile.
However an easier tactic is combining parry with backdash. Doing parry and immediately doing backdash will let you escape with little to no damage even on things like Starfire's annoying meter burn trait of death or Captain Cold's oddly spaced meter burn projectile.
This was a help after getting the life lead. I am a total noob but I love WW and am partial to any bits of her mythology that NRS used.
It is a great help in the Superman matchup. I use it to alleviate f23 pressure (learned in the matchup thread) and it is now standard operating procedure to get ahead and wait on the other side of the screen ready to parry into backdash the stupid lasers.
To be honest, for me it was really about the Meter Burn version and trying to figure out what to do when they start abusing it. At the time they just did it to chip me out and I read on the forums that it could do multihits with multiple inputs so I started to explore it.Started playing around with the parry into backdash thing after reading this. On the flying punch I had a question. If I'm ever in the situation where I know it's coming well enough to go for parry I started feeling it was just as easy to d1 into an up shield. Is the idea to only backdash on MB and full punish on standard flying punch, because I think I'm too old for that. The d1 works for both, but it does cost a bar to get anything out of it.
BTW, Saltface is doing a WW "Grind." If he sticks with her it may be worth seeing what he comes up with.

The parry into backdash I discovered playing around with ways to get around the laser spam which has robbed me sometimes of a half of a bar. At the time, should I manage to be winning they just walk back to fullscreen and laser away. I was also having trouble with Captain Cold and his weird meterburn projectile. So I started experimenting.
It works against both those but it gets tricky if rather than approaching you they start mixing empty jumps, heat zaps, and meter burns lasers.
I will YouTube Saltface--thanks for the heads up!
Thanks!I thought I linked to his twitch

His video from last night is up here as well https://www.twitch.tv/videos/167301425
He was also playing on Sonic's stream against his cold with her a couple of hours ago.
I was certainly getting destroyed by anyone that had a basic zoning strat going with her. Kind of looks like you can bash in after a lot of her projectile stuff, but it's about it and she can run away full screen pretty much at will. Not sure what to do, and seems pretty steep. Thanks!
I just finished being zoned out again by Starfire. I still feel her bracelets of submission need a meter burn reflect option. I slowly chased this Starfire from one corner of the stage to the other slowly being chipped as I went until I died. I got my hands on her once. The rest of the time was chasing her down and dying as I went. Avoiding the projectiles with the bracelets and backdash didn't put me in a position to get any damage going. Every time I started to get near it was meter burn roll (she always had way more meter--it's like she gets WAY more for shooting than I do for parrying), a sudden advancing overhead, meter burn wierd beam, or sudden advancing low. It's like suddenly she is in my face like immediately and I get knocked to the other side of the screen. It's abysmal. A reflect option that costs something seems fair and it is so like a basic part of WW--there literally is nothing that those bracelets cannot return.
OMG. Goober! I wasn't using bash for advancement after any projectile! I am going to try that today! I think that is a lot of my problem--not using the full range of stuff she has and focusing too much on what she doesn't have. Still working on thatI was certainly getting destroyed by anyone that had a basic zoning strat going with her. Kind of taking a break from WW to try and level 20 every other character, so I probably won't be figuring out anything anytime soon. If anyone does I'd still be interested in hearing it.
Good job. But isn't that super boring? That's what makes me a sad panda, WoWo is incredibly boring in this game, they 100% changed her playstyle around.I must say after the endless stream of Deadshots and Starfires it was exceedingly satisfying to have the last ones leave the game because I was being patient and moving only to punish. This tells me that I fall under the category of those whose playstyle may not match the way the kit is designed. I have been complaining about being zoned out but in those matches I was jumping around trying to make something happen or create an opening getting a decisive L for my troubles. Whereas in these last ones I was very chill and moved back when they advanced so as to avoid the weird overhead and low she has and then bash away or combo away to get what I could and then chill again.
Dude WW is simply not for you. I'm sure there are other characters in the cast that will fit your preferences.Good job. But isn't that super boring? That's what makes me a sad panda, WoWo is incredibly boring in this game, they 100% changed her playstyle around.
And the wrong way too, which part of her screams slow/reactionary character. She's a speed blitzer. Out of the entire cast she should have the easiest time against projectile zoners
...no shit.Dude WW is simply not for you. I'm sure there are other characters in the cast that will fit your preferences.
