Video/Tutorial The Kurtis Stryker Guide to Riot Control & Police Brutality

I like B2, F2. It's safer on block and builds good meter. The problem is it's easy to drop/punish.

They can crouch under your B2 if you don't time your jump punch. And if they block your B2, there's a small annoying gap just before the F2 where they can move. I'm pretty sure some characters could punish you with a 6-8 frame attack.

NRS needs to reduce the start up of B2 and either reduce the gap between B2 and F2 or increase the blockstun of B2.
I almost never use any of the back 2 strings because of how unsafe the baton is. High risk.

This one I admit I didn't know was possible but seems amazing.

I'll try to incorporate that in my gameplan for sure.

Final verdict on back 2? You still use it plain for meter VH?

But the standing 3 reset is SSOOOOOO good. I love it. I've developed a very aggressive playstyle lately and I think it works very well. I'm actually surprised at how good Stryker's offense can be. I sometimes deal 70% damage in 10 seconds via 3 resets, or 40% with only frame traps. It's pretty awesome.
Yes this! Reset ftw! Also aggressive stryker is great because later in the round if your hurt and need to zone your way back into the match its less of a tell you'll do that if you've been aggressive out the gate (rushing down if you will).

Added you on live so I can play you before my hitbox comes for my PS3 than I'll be disapearing for awhile until my parts for my HRAP comes so I can have 2 hitboxes for both my consoles (because my converter lags)

EDIT: Ok I guess I got exited a little too fast lol. That combo seems to only work on standing opponents unfortunately. It can still work on some crouching characters but it's very hard and the timing is strict so it's not really reliable.

So vs D4 and most low projectiles it's still better to do JK dash xx Uppercut or JK dash xx D1/D4 xx Roll Toss for 18-20%.

Yeah I love B2 and I'll definitely keep using it. But B1,2,2 is kinda better now. Builds less meter but leaves you at +0 on block which is pretty insane. That being said the reason I still prefer B2,F2 is because it has less pushback on block so I have more success following up with D1, 4 and jumps.

New combo: <-- 2, --> 2 ... dash ... 1, 2 ... 4... Roll Toss.

Discover: normal Sweep (<--4), pass trhoug sub-zero ice clones... you must be kissing the clone to be freezed. Good way to hit if he stay "in" the clone.

Yo V I'm speechless man. I'm sending this video to NRS and thank them as well for making this all possible. And thank you man for finding all this stuff out. Cheers man

Vulcan or PB, do you guys know if there is a recovery difference between low/high grenade and EN grenade tosses?

yo i havent touched this game in more than a week now, cant really give you an answer on that one. I highly doubt there would be a recovery difference between low/high grenade. Maybe EN might be faster but I highly doubt that as well. Hopefully someone else will be able to answer that question for you.

i'm a little a awkward ... i started to play MK this week and i had chosen Stryker as my Main Char... so just to be sure, Stryker it' s a tipe of "zooning" char and had some good pokes, right?

so how do i start to train with him?
like, gun shot ~ Dasha/backdash or something?

Hi guys, i have question about my BnBs:

Midscreen:
B122;NJP;2;Gun;12;Roll
B2F2;12;Gun:11,Roll
B32;4,Roll
NJP;2;Gun;12;Roll

Corner:
B112;12;12;12;Grenade
B2F2;12;12;12;Grenade
B32;;12;12;12;Grenade

Corner meter:
B112;12;12;12;ExGun;3
B2F2;12;12;12;ExGun;3
B32;12;12;12;ExGun;3

For resets i use corners with meter and midscreen:
B112;NJP;2,Gun;3
B2F2;NJP;12;Gun;3

Any better combos? Or mine are good?

EX smash solves all
You can trip the shit outta them with Back 3, Baton Trip. Because the followup 2 is an overhead, they're gonna go for the standing block. This gives the untechable knockdown for mixups.

is most of this information still good or is it out of date?
Some of it is silly day 1 tech.

Example of what has changed: Before, Stryker was at major disadvantage when opponent blocked a grenade. Now he recovers so quick that he has time to frame trap the opponent with a gun shot. It means Stryker can keep zoning advantage even if opponent blocks a grenade.

Other things have changed like how much damage combos do and how safe some moves and strings are. But overall Stryker's gameplan and strategies are still the same.

Thanks for reminding me I really need to edit 1st post and remove everything that's obsolete.

EDIT: Oh wow, the :backpunch and :backkick icons don't even work anymore. :/

We ought to make a Stryker flow chart because this grenade recovery nonsense had always led me to just
grenade->dash->grenade

This is a far more logical. If they block the gunshot grenade again, very logical. ty

GG btw. I just did that low grenade > gun shot trap to you like 3 times in a row. :) As you can see it's pretty damn effective. I try to go for it whenever I get a knockdown or when my opponent isn't looking to zone me.

edit:
Conditionally hitting peopple with grenades staggers them for another grenade.
Conditionally hitting people with a gunshot staggers them for another gunshot.
Conditionally someone blocking a grenade is setup for a gunshot.
Conditionally someone blocking a gunshot should be grenaded.
This is all correct except the first and last one imo (unless you're looking to trade). When opponent blocks a gun shot, you don't have enough frame advantage to score a grenade or another gun shot. You will trade 100% of the time so unless it's gonna win you the round or you have a huge life lead, I wouldn't recommend trying a grenade afterwards..

And if it's for trading, then it might be worth to burn a meter for EN grenade or EN roll toss instead of just a grenade.

That was only AFTER I read about it and only had just begun to digest its implications. And when you did it I was like; ah yes this is effective not realizing it wasn't me nuking you it was me being nuked savagely. I need to unlock all the costumes on my 360 still ech, I should just download the save file would be faster.

Wait! You guys played each? I wanna see footage lol :)
Um; I have a dazzle I can record it its a shame you ask now I just sold a 200 dollar capture card on eBay I will procure a new one. We've had several matches actually we have 3 bars and the XBL network is substainially less static than PSN so its a little closer to offline on Xbox than PSN online. Its worth noting that most tournaments excluding WCG use Playstations offline with the disc so its pretty shitty in comparison to the installed version.

----EDIT---UPDATED----MOVED--->

Regardless I just wanted to mention that its not shameful to just hit people with a normal with Stryker. Also don't do more than one backdash with Stryker when I see people do this I cringe. Just dash once and walk test this its way faster.

Also if you dash before Stryker says 'busted' it will cancel him saying that for + frames so if I hear b- you can do it at the bus- as well but if its just clipping the end of busted its not safe to take a crossup. But if you do it early enough I think you can crossup out of a corner safely with a jump or a rolltoss if you can dash into rolltoss properly, its a lot of inputs to dial into a controller. It may very well be a 1 frame link of xrayxxrolltoss which may very well be impossible on a traditional controller (try a hitbox)

There you have it Vulcan. Correct me as you will :p

Also for your own sake take every character into training mode and realize their forward dash, back dash, walk speed and back walkspeed are all different.

Will help your spacing immensely. EAT THIS!

I don´t know why... but i love burn meter with EN grenades... just the high one, i think isn´t so useful... the low one, is more "acurate".

True. I almost never use the high grenade except vs certain specific characters like Kano, Kitana, Sindel etc. Most of the time I just use low grenade. High grenades are good to control air space, but that can scare them to jump. And I often want my opponent to jump at me so I can juggle them with 20-30% combos. :)

Carefoot: Come to think of it, I'm pretty sure grenades don't staggers enough on hit to allow another grenade without trade. So on "grenade hit", I think gun shot would be better...

Just to be clear to readers who don't play Stryker enhanced grenade high and low are identical. Only non-enhanced versions have unique arcs.

Version 3 of Flow Chart (final revision I promise to make it in photoshop :p)
Conditionally hitting peopple with grenades staggers them for another grenade a shot to the dome.
Conditionally hitting people with a gunshot staggers them for another gunshot.
Conditionally someone blocking a grenade is setup for a gunshot.

Someone blocking a gunshot can be grenaded for a trade (if they attempt to zone you out, and providing they do not have a longer start up to their projectile than Stryker which is 26 frames so look it up); you can here make a read obviously if they are going to try and trade (which I will note is a pretty tournament level decision) they ought to be ex-roll tossed if your on a life budget and must keep advantage. Or if you ex-grenade here instead you will score a hard knockdock possibility and keep advantage in a trade. If they block your double grenade you will gain a substaincial amount of meter back for your 1 bar investment not a shit ton but enough to make you realize that Stryker in a match can accumulate a lot of safe chip damage.

Now you could also from this point after a blocked gunshot is go for an ex-gunshot and you will neutralize the advantage for 1 more gunshot so take another gunshot. (so basically if they block this you do 6% chip which is one whole gunshot; leaving you back at;

Conditionally after someone blocks your ex-gunshot followed up by another gunshot (your opponent will be pissed their arms are a). shot up b). shaking from the ammount of twitching they do when someone blocks ex-gunshot) you will have gained enough meter to warrant to do dash in and roll them to gain advantage again or ex-roll them from where your standing OR ex-grenade them for a full trade and keep position if you have them in the corner. Additionally at a close range dashing forward after shooting at disadvantage can be harder to read as Stryker has a fast start up forward dash that is good for wave dashing (far better than some of the cast I will say but not as scary as Sektors). I personally find standing 4 to be my favorite tool for gaining advantage anywhere on the screen. Also with a dash standing 4 is like a baseball bat with 8 frame start up and advantage on block. So obviously in the corner if you cancel into the occasional DB4 than into another standing 4 I've won many a games just making good reads kicking people in the face.
Random fact; Strykers X-Ray does 2% chip on block.
