You know j.i.1 shuts down like 90% of people's options yeah? I saw you whiff a j.i.2 and thought to myself "but if he used j.i.1 tho"dat 21% throw
I've got the big damage combos down, just waiting for the opportunity to use it with a max PNG buff. People are learning and are holding on to that breaker.
haha yea I thought the exact same thing half way through the jump. Been getting too cozy with ji2. I never seem to be able to space them well, either I'll whiff the ji2 or I'm too far away after a ji1 for any follow up to technically connect. I still don't even like being in the air, Torr just doesn't belong there. You know j.i.1 shuts down like 90% of people's options yeah? I personally disagree, but thats on a different matter. The air is the biggest thing Torr players should practice controlling, its the only place the opponent can hide from his suffocating ground presence so neglecting it opens them up to losses.haha yea I thought the exact same thing half way through the jump. Damn that was Really good als if you'd get that combo in the end it would have been perfect
Thanks @Blewdew dunno why I didn't go for the command grab brutal, like I was bothering you about So I found out today that b1 is a godlike aa, up there with LF and Cassie.Damn that was Really good als if you'd get that combo in the end it would have been perfect
@Doombawkz what exactly do you mean with that? I don't Really feel comfortable in the air either like @Kamikaze_Highlander even though their jip1 is Really good. And anti airing is another thing, I'm quite consistent with the d3 aa but playing dvorah and triborg as well who have so much better options with s1 I always feel like I'm taking a risk when going for The d3. It's an okay option but I have more success with other characters
Ferra/Torr as a character has exactly 1 weakness: His ability to control the airspace around him. We all know it, its common knowledge and its something people aim to exploit.@Doombawkz what exactly do you mean with that?
So how do we go about that? Play more lackey XPFerra/Torr as a character has exactly 1 weakness: His ability to control the airspace around him. We all know it, its common knowledge and its something people aim to exploit.
As a player, while you COULD choose to simply focus on your ground game, you're simply keeping that weakness prevalent and leaving yourself open.
If you learn to control the air and even become dominant in it, then your opponent is forced to play the game Ferra/Torr wants to play.
Remove the opponent's one option, and they are left with only things that favor you.
Or as I said with Bane in regards to his mix-ups
"Its a 33/33/33, but when his armor is beating your options 2/3 of the time, every time, and each armored option covers 2 of those 3 options, you're always going to be playing a game where you're not favored.
You can't claim to have an option when the odds of picking the wrong answer are twice as likely as you picking the right one. That's not an option for you, that's an option for me.
Once you're in that situation, you're mine. You are no longer making reads, you're making guesses. You're no longer fighting for control, you're fighting for escape.
Once you're on your back, your goal isn't to win, its simply to try and survive."
I feel like if F/T players started investing more into making their air game strong instead of simply focusing on how the ground game will play out, they'll become like Bane was: A character who doesn't just have options, but has the ability to take options away from others.
Lackey has the hardest time, j.i.1 and j.i.2 are universal, you know.So how do we go about that? Play more lackey XP
Psssh we are still bottom 5Lackey has the hardest time, j.i.1 and j.i.2 are universal, you know.
However, even you can't deny that if Ferra/Torr didn't have their air weakness that they would be dominant to the point of being one of the, if not the, best in the game.
We are bottom 5, middle 5, top 5, and until proven otherwise don't even exist in the gamePsssh we are still bottom 5
Those Option do work yeah but only as a Read. aa'ing with normals is usually better since they have faster startup and faster input Time, making them a good reaction tool (except cassie's flip or lao's Spin lol fuck these moves)You know thinking about it, how weak is it really? Ferra toss and njp make jump ins basically impossible unless you're right in our face, you cant meaty jump in either as bf3 will stuff that most of the time. B1 is a great aa for cross ups, can't believe it took me this long to figure that out. Along with d1 and d3. Jump in 1 is fast and long, and jump in 2 has a great hit box for cross ups.
Also you never answered my question @Doombawkz, what tips do you have to improve our air presence.
I still think we've been secret A tier since the 8/31 patch last year, approaching A+.
Thats because jump in range is also sprint up normal range/advancing normal range, this game has retarded neutral overall but Ferra Torrs is luckily legit instead if gimmicky which is why I really liked them. So yeah at the same range you have to worry about jump ins you have to worry about everything else too so it makes stuffing jump ins more of a read than anythingtrue, tho jump ins I can usually react to if they're at the right range.
Yeah I was more referring to bf3 and db2. Njp is godlike and definitely should be usednjp usually stuffs run up normals too, in my experience
If I scrub like me can do it so can you !!!! Don't give up.Got excited, tried to do the Lackey combos presented here, failed....excitement depleted.
This combo is good too. The end is simpler and only lose 3%.
