Guide The Destroyer of Worlds. Doomsday Guide.

Parries in general win against everything DD throws after a body splash, even standing 3. I meant universal moves. And i dont think BA can back dash after a body splash if you buffer quickly enough the commands. His standing 1 is fine imo. Agreed with his standing 2. It should be faster.
I labbed it awhile back. IIRC Black Adam can back dash stand 1, 2 and 3, but not d1 after blocking a non meaty splash. The good news is thart Adam is so tall that splash hits quite ambiguously against him, so even blocking a splash in the first place is kinda risky for Adam.

I have some experience in the Scorpion match up with someone that plays him really well here and there some things I've noticed about the character

Overall you gotta block low against this character since it stops pretty much every setup he's got and it's very easy to react to his overheads I think the fastest one is 22f startup. Other than that you gotta play patient getting in by dashing forward and holding down then being aware that you are in j.3 range to block accordingly

j.3 Crossup xx Teleport:
Since Doomsday's hit box is so large j.3 xx teleport is braindead tactic against the character What I have found is to properly block the crossup and hold down to block the subsequent teleport.
A blocked teleport can be punished by 23d1 xx Venom for 19% dmg or 3 xx Air Snatch to reverse sides for 16% dmg(Very Important to do this if you block a teleport on scorpion corner wake up)

Scorpion Wake Up Attacks:
Flash Kick:
Scorpions flash kick is a fantastic wakeup attack but can be beat from certain hard knockdown setups, it beats all early jump ins clean.
Also there is a way to make it flip sides while you have him in the corner. After a d1 xx ES you dash forward and hold down, if Scorpion attempts a wakeup flash kick it will reverse sides leading to full combo damage. VERY IMPORTANT OKI

Teleport:
A neutral body splash works wonders on this since scorpion teleports directly under Doomsday and thus leading to full combo.
Also if Scorpion tries to teleport out of the corner a MB Venom will hit him as he is coming back the reason for this is that apparently the hitbox on MB extends far behind him as well

Good stuff. Who's favor would you say this matchup is in?

What about his hell fire though ? Having an unblockable projectile with zero travelling time when in full screen is a bit fucked up against a rush down character.

You tried Jd3 123 or standing 3 and BA was able to back dash after the blocked jd3 ?

I'm not sure if it's optimal, but what I've been doing vs hell fire is neutral jump body splash.

Hell fire should whiff on that also in case he teleports body splash comes down on him and if he spears I believe there is enough time to block coming back down.

Best punish for teleport is doing a string into Venom, Doomsday can't do b3, j.2 or d2 to juggle him then combo afterwards

I've only tried it on the Training dummy, but a blocked teleport can lead to a 3, MB ES, d2, b3, Ji2, 3, Venom for 30%

Seems that a key thing against scorpion is going to be this: The teleport attack hits MID which means that it can be blocked crouching.
Since NRS made it so that to block low all one has to do is hold DOWN instead of db by simply holding straight down it will block mid and low from both directions!

still going to be a bitch no doubt but nonetheless, having your bases covered for random teleport attacks will definitely make scorpions life not as easy to troll.

I have a feeling Doomsday vs Scorpion will be in DD's favor.
After playing the MU extensively offline I'm inclined to think this as well

Doomsday's splash and the hitbox of his EX shoulder extending behind him are great tools in the corner in this MU, all I'll say for now...

Your thoughts ?
Edited my above post... I'm too sleepy to go into details but Scorp has a tough time waking up in this MU. Especially in the corner. The games I played today were streamed... while not super bleeding edge high level they should give a good idea of what the MU is like. If the stream has an archive i'll link it...

We weren't playing 100% seriously and were both exploring the MU for the very first time, but you can see how naturally DD's shoulder helps you get around teleport. Also MB Venom on scorp's wakeup is pretty free, delayed splashes vs scorp are pretty free too since all he has to threaten you with is flip kick which will be nerfed soon so no big deal there

Even at a higher level I think this MU has plenty of potential to be DD favor 6-4

Cool i ll check them out. Thnx Frothy.

Yeah I'm not enjoying myself w this game too much lately, but if I play more dd/scorp sets when ribbz gets better with scorp we'll see if my opinions change then. Neither of us are good enough to know for sure but for a day 3 scorpion you can't expect too much I suppose lol

Jobbers are mouthpieces for gods.
In my gameplay I use a lot d1 ES as my mixup and poke. I sometimes use f2, grab and sweep for oki. I don't use my other string unless on a blocked jd3. should I use them more?

Then it probably depends on the character's back dash, or in general, is character specific. I ll have to look into that. Still though it is risky on BA's behalf.
Yeah, I think most other characters will get hit during backdash. BA's is especially insane because of how far he moves during his invicible frames.

It's not really risky. You can hit him out of the backdash by doing Shoulder charge MB or jail him with a d1, but that's it. Everthing else, including d3, will get evaded by backdash.

It's already tough enough to get BA in a position where he has to block a splash. The fact that he gets to escape almost all your options after that by mashing backdash is just kinda :(

Anyone here have thoughts/knowledge on how to deal with a very good Flash player besides politely asking 'em to stop molesting my Doomsday?

My survivor rank (it's a small conceit) had to have plummeted in tryin' to deal with him.

Everything was interrupted by his jabs. I was able to punish his mistakes but they were few and far between.
