I bet it won't happen until June. The beta needs to be announced, then it needs to start, finish, and then Capcom needs to code the next update based on their findings...

Expect the 4th character to be delayed as well.

I cant see it until the end of June either. This is Capcom we're talking about. We might get a double release like we did with 'Rog and Ibuki, or they'll just release Washington, which is a character designed to distill the essence of SFV down to an even simpler game than it already is. At the beginning of the round, he throws himself backwards, flipping as many times as he can in the air. If he lands face up, his opponent automatically loses. Face down? He doesnt get back up. He just lays there while the opponent kicks him in the head until the round ends or his health is depleted. Once he's taken enough damage to fill his V-Gauge activating it makes him whisper, lovingly, every time he is kicked, 'Footsiessssssssssssss', until the round ends or his health is depleted. Capcom will later release a patch nerfing his health by 25.

Capcom is supposed to announce the new Character very soon (within the next couple of weeks). But yeah, we probably won't see him/her until June.

There is strong speculation that the next DLC is Byron Taylor. IMO, that would be a huge mistake. Kolin was pretty weak in terms of appeal and Byron seems even less popular.

I would take either one of those characters over Byron and so would 99% of the people that already own SFV. Unfortunately, Capcom already said it wouldn't be a playable character from past SF games.

Theyve said all characters released this season will be brand new.. So no chance of them.

And yeah, Byron Taylor would be terrible for them. Kolin was extremely lackluster in terms of appeal.. I just.. Its like watching a sinking ship and all the guys with the buckets are just dumping the water back into the boat.. we're all standing there screaming at them what to do, but they arent listening. Just smiling blithely and emptying the water right back.. I want Tekken here ASAP, and if I get a PS4, Im buying KOF.

Yeah he's serious, they announced earlier in the season that all characters will be 'new'. they may come from the lore, but they will have never been playable in an SF game before.

The old-school fans are always going to want all their favorite characters from back in the day, but I guess Capcom wanted to try their hand at introducing some fresh blood to the series. It wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if the characters they introduce are actually appealing.

We'll probably get a bunch of classic characters for season 3 in 2018.

I agree with Rip, it could have been a great idea, but i think they should have said the last character will be a fan fav or something, as that would have smoothed over some of the hate and kept some players hanging around a little longer in the hopes that they got their fav character eventually. Attach the choice to a poll (just rig the poll so you know whos gonna win, but the illusion of that choice will keep people happy).. If these 'new' characters were legit interesting or flashy or whatever, sure.. but so far, Kolin, from an outside perspective, is just boring as shit. Slow, heavy feeling, no flash. Nothing terribly interesting.

I don't think the next character (the 3rd) will be Taylor, as the silhouette doesn't really seem to line up to me... I think it will be a totally new character, or possibly Azam, but likely the former.

I do think Taylor will be the 4th though.
