And thanks to @FL Rushdown for saying what I've been saying. Just wait until season 3 comes around ya bums. Maybe then capcom will see what to do with Mika.
He might be right. I haven't played her a lot in the new season but I've definitely noticed some situations where I was pretty damn sure my mp into clap should've connected but didn't. Honestly haven't run tests and it's always been kinda finicky but I wouldn't be surprised if there were specific characters/setups that it didn't work on or that it's gotta be closer.

Wish they'd fix the grab missing after clap connects though. Every time I confirm into it and it whiffs I die a little inside.

Try it from my setup though ;)
Got to go for that double dash F.HP pressure. Still good. The lab isn't that easy when you have more than 2 specials. :DOGE

Plus you can just save the CH confirm after your plus on roll . . . . Dammit. I mean mash it on wakeup.

@FL Rushdown it has to be done real close now. Idk if anyone had a thin hurtbox, Might mess it up.

I don't know anything about Akuma and I haven't touched him but I'd say from just playing against him that neutral seems pretty even. once he gets optimized I feel it could easily lean towards Akuma

also I just beat gootecks akuma lul see me on their show soon I guess

Meh, I don't know that we know how much time and focus he has. If he thinks Ryu isn't competitive any more, unless he shifts to Akuma, I don't see Guile as that far-fetched. He only has one season invested in SFV Ryu so it's not a tremendous investment to put aside if he feels Ryu isn't the right choice for the future of the game. I DO think Daigo is most likely looking at the long view and not just who's hot right now, and, paranoia alert, I think he and other Japanese players get some manner of advanced warning for changes and directions and such, so he may have information we dont and is operating on that.
Daigo is an older player and the older you get, the harder it is to be motivated enough to get back to where you were when you could maximize new skills.

You guys notice that Bison is decent now? His overhead hand into his knee creates some nice and relatively safe mixup opportunities.

It's all so very confusing.
I absolutely don't think Akuma has s1 Ibuki syndrome.. I think Akuma has 'probably extremely good character syndrome'.

I can't (and don't) base my opinions on my own play because I'm worthless, but when I see far better players than myself using Akuma I don't see him being outclassed 90% of the time.. I don't see him being outclassed hardly ever. That's not to say he's outclassing everyone or anything, just that he really seems to hold his own.

Every Akuma I see that impresses me seems to have a really solid neutral and good spacing.. there does seem to be this subset that think he's some kind of rushdown monster where you just charge in full speed and do crazy shit, but his two combos worth of health makes that.. not so great. When I see an Akuma win the neutral, pressure as best as he can on KD then immediately back away and reset when/if he loses the momentum, I see that Akuma win or run really close.

These are all super early opinions though and like I said, I am curious to see how he does vs Uriens half mile normals, and vs any character with really smothering pressure (Cammy and Karin maybe? ).

I am optimistic.

Ehhh idk, I can agree with saying Urien isn't as good but Akuma seems really dumb right now man.
Akuma has the mixups and damage, but safety and walk speed are more important going forward - and Cammy kills him in those categories. Balrog matches his damage and mixups with much safer normals and a better V trigger. Akuma is hot now and he is very viable, but he isn't the best. He's 5th at best, IMO.

Also, I get that Daigo is older and old people are less likely to have the energy and such to learn new tricks and such, but Guile isn't new to him and, I mean, he's 35. That's really not tremendously old. Yes, in the world of competitive gaming it's ancient but physically and mentally, I.dont think he's too exhausted to learn to press different buttons, we aren't talking a boxer or something trying to revive his career or make drastic changes after 20yrs in the ring.. we are talking a guy who plays video games for a living (more or less).

Now, I will concede the point that HIS style of play, the ultra, freakishly researched and calculated approach DOES make his changing characters much more labor intensive than a lot of players, so maybe you're right, but I have my doubts.

Check out PR Balrog's Twitch stream and watch what he does with Balrog's V Trigger.
I'm just not seeing it. I messed with training. Watched rog. It just doesn't seem different. Did you mean his trigger was always good and the buffs to other areas make his trigger even better?

If you're talking about df+HP, that into HK is a nice gap. But yeah bison can finally frame trap everyone proper. That and his TC giving him a mixup on hit is nice too. I should use it more.

If you're talking about df+HP, that into HK is a nice gap. But yeah bison can finally frame trap everyone proper. That and his TC giving him a mixup on hit is nice too. I should use it more.
Its the mix-ups that make it good along with his new combos. 50-50's into Turn Punch into juggles are a thing now.

Did they speed up his OH off turn punch? Cause you can fuzzy that to a degree and at least in s1, def react to the OH.. you just block low and of he spins block low a handful.of frames, stand up for a second the block low again. You'll catch the sweep and the OH.. and at least in S1, he was heavily punishable if you blocked it. Of course you have to watch out for the throw, but that goes for any character being in your face.

I'm at work and haven't got a mobile friendly patch notes handy to check out what Rog had changed.
