Yeah D4 special lol. You mean b14? I used to use that but jumps get you punished :(.
With reborn F3 cancel into tele catches them and you can confirm it but it is expensive. Standing 11 is ideal so I do d3 preferably when possible because that jails on hit.

Yesterday I met with a Raiden who did 2-3 D1 before the follow up wtf I barely could poke him back with 8F (I was with Cassie). I need to check it probably just bullshit but it worked. :D
 
Is everyone having a problem with after amplified telepot and then f3 and then the 11 whiffs on females? I lost a lot of matches because of this

Well I have to say that it is not even too difficult in laboratory environment. I started being interested and will probably try it in real match (online). :)

F3 has really good audio visual effect on hit and block and it looks like time for the cancel.

I am wondering if anyone use it already or tried.
Maybe it is just another wasted resource to spend on the game but fun. :D

With Cassie it is an issue... F4 or throw reversal works and will stop them hopefully.

It works well and is rewarding until your execution fails and you get full combo punished but can be done fairly consistently... Just to always check defense bars.

I had no mood to try it in real match. I just do not have the mood for Reborn.
I appreciate neutral and footsies a bit more with SR. I still use teleport too much for whiff punishing.
Reborn gives an extra layer to the teleport and I do not want to evolve toward that. :)

Maybe if they nerf the recovery a bit or something. I did not overuse cancel is mkx either but sometimes after strings on block not to remain close. Like I would use it here. Just here it is much more than that.

Maybe I change my mind later. That F3 xx tele hitconfirm is huge as he does not need to rely on B14 hitconfirm against jumpers or even on oki. But there is good play without it just it has big competitive potential.
Meta is not Scorpion in tournament scene. :)

Don’t know if y’all are aware of this, but f3,4 pushback on block changes if opponent is crouch blocking.

This is significant in MUs against characters like Jacqui. If she blocks it low she gets a b1, or f3, so you’re right back in the pressure.

I was watching Viennality top 8 yesterday (not finished) damn that Sonya/Erron/Geras matches are so boring to watch. :D
I know it is good as "neutral focused" but damn (esecially Sonya vs. Erron but the neutral was really good it was not fun to watch to me - it would not fun to play to me either)... Maybe not surprised as my taste is different from Sonya/Erron/Geras/Jaqui.

I watched the Reborn vs. Cetrion play it was disappointing to watch too. Reborn tele cancel had only one reason: go in. Other is just the standard struggling even against a zoner. Well Shark teeth is a very good player but his Reborn was pocket - but Cassie would have been even worse.

But fortunately people are rather complaining about teleport. :D

yeah I noticed that as well. if you block anything standing there is more pushback than low block. als9o I play searing rage (thankfully) so they always stand block after f3

I do not think about other players.
I do like. Why? Probably due to similar strong footsies playstyle.
I played Scorpion first then tried Cassie and thought omg she wad even more fun and did my style.

I tried many characters for fun/at worst match up knowledge and so far they are favorites.
I have a 2days Kung Lao he does not kidding with the opponent. :) He will probably not my favorite but can have fun.at mid level (without the sickest combos but good practical ones) and extra knowledge can not hurt.

Yeah it sucks. I use 11xx db3 amp, dash, 4 now on all characters. You miss only like 20 damage for a combo you can hit 10/10 times. On KB the combo is pretty hard even on males and borderline impossible so 4 is the way to go there.

Yes it is not easy to find that frame.
I also prefer B13 hitconfirm but the "why not jumpers" after D1 makes it difficult to use.
They probably jump to punish D1 throw or avoiding combo potential (e.g. against Cassie they also do as F4 converts AA but F41 not likely) so need special threatment. :)

Yesterday I hated SR as a less cautious "reflex" F32 lost me a close game (he jumped out and punish). I am seriously thinking about Reborn only to remove this move lol (but I do not really want to use the current cancel so that's why I rather not).

Yesterday I was not prepared to bullshit grandmaster SR who did ton of D4xxDS lol.
I started blocking it but forgot to crouch block and could not punish haha.
He was my first warm up match "never better".
I've been using reborn for 3 days. Online KL is STILL frustrating but though I like Searing Rage I'm finding myself having a hard time switching back from Reborn since I can pressure better at times as people are more scared of the TP. I did get pretty salty a few times since online favors a lot of mashers or jumpers. I lost a mirror too where i got aggro'd but at least I tried to steal some of his stuff and it works sometimes. ONLY Downside with the cancel now though is I have to manage defensive bar much more since against someone like sonya for example I don't want to get caught or hit and not have a break away.

Now I'm in a crisis between two variants. I want to use SR as I still love it and it's combo potential (sucks in reborn when I hit someone and realize how much bar I HAVE to blow to get decent damage or curb damage for pressure) but reborn has a good escape move in TP Cancel when people get button happy. Freakin Liu Kangs most of all, even if I push him out with f+3,4 he can still combo start me if I move or try to space. They never seem to block. Liu and Jax players. Feels like they just roll their faces across the controllers/sticks

I've had minor troubles with that, especially doing a 2,1, 2+4 ender in SR, whiffs on females and a few others. I always have to briefly hold forward or quick dash cancel

I chose Cassie as a sub largely because I wanted to play her as a secondary on announcement last game but never did. I intended to have Frost as that but right now she's not that great. I also chose her because not only does she have footsies like scorpion but in addition she has a safe 9f mid combo starter. A LOT of people (mostly online) just swing for days and dont block or disrespect frames. Cassie you can't swing on her recklessly. If I d1 and it hits or d3 and it hits you aren't beating me out when I use f+4,1

she compliments scorpions more calculated/opportunistic style. She in my case can be far more aggressive and oppress better without having to use defensive bar (I learned Yaas Queen)

whoa whoa WHOA. Hold on. I must have missed that. My bad. Again I've been using it for 3 days and focused more on pressure and reset so for his one bar stuff I didn't know THAT worked specifically. And I never said his damage sucked but overall SR especially with kunai powered up he hits like a truck. Plus I still have defensive meter since I'm not using TP Cancel. BOTH his variants are very good and viable imo SR itself is def based more on "easy" damage though.

Plus if they're super low I love using DS or DS Amp to chip them out

All that shit is pretty much optimal, but you gotta try them against females and find substitutions for stuff that is too hard on them. Generally everything works on females with extremely tight timings, so it's usually not worth to grind out.

He's got one for Searing Rage too if you wanna stick with that.

He does great videos because these combos are optimal, practical and cover a variety of situations, from side switches to corner situations to anti airs. It's great stuff that doesn't have enough views.

Nice you are doing more optimal than me with SR (+20). :)
I tried this one but it was pretty strict to me and first 20 times spear whiffed.
Then it started to be consistent. :)

However I do not use F32 in combos due to break away punish and with S4 it is the same but more difficult to punish it (possible but need to practice = it will be 99% good online).
F32 does just 1 damage more than S4 though (without BS) so S4 is pretty optimal if you land it consistently.

I go to 2 week holiday soon I will miss Mortal Kombat lol. But hopefully will be loaded with more energy to play it. KL is disappointing to me (more annoying than feeling it competitive) so I may stick to friends but will see it later.

Tbh I felt F3, F32xxBF1 strict too that's why I was happy not using it for other reasons. :D
But now I limit myself with a bit less damage potential. It looks not crucial though.

But maybe I will start using 11xxDB3 AMP, F3, F32xxDS more as a good BS setup (if the opponent does not have 2 def bars). :)

Reborn is better for the reasons you mentioned.
"ONLY Downside" if your opponent can handle the tele cancel - but you are still not behind with Reborn as you can play normally as you should do with SR and you can still use cancel for escape and positioning. And opponent will still be scared of teleport.

In that special case SR can perform a bit better as due to F32 threat Liu Kang will probably block high and that gives the extra pushback and F4 will whiff. In case of crouch block yes F4 will catch any movement (as Scorpion is minus).
With SR it is needed to watch the blocking patterns and if opponent is crouch blocking F34 to get the spacing advantage intentionally you can risk an F32 to punish him for that (or just simply do not try the press buttons after crouch blocked F34). It sounds easy in theory but difficult in practice (watching and taking the risk). I found someone blocking F34 randomly lol (which was a good move or just did not know about it at all).

Nobody can "handle" the tele cancel tbh.
From what I've seen with others and notice about myself is that I'm trying to identify situations where people use the cancel and act proactively.

For example I like not blocking at the start of the round against Reborn and just keep me finger on one then just hit 11 into a combo when I see the teleport.
Or if I notice that somebody like to cancel behind me on blocked strings, I just hit a button.

Tons of people I thought were "reacting" to tele cancel and jabbed me afterwards, I noticed that if I just let the teleport rip in the same situations I caught them with it, as they just had a read on me and sat there waiting for the cancel to hit a button.

You can see tele cancel being used to great success against great players in offline tournaments as well.

I don't think there's a foolproof way to deal with it and you're best off just blocking and trying to get Reborn off his defensive meter with big combos.
