For some ungodly reason the default variations are not the tournament legal/kompetitive variations, which is what people are referring to. You can change them to the tourney presets in kustomization or through the practice menu. There's also two names for each of Shang's tourney variations so it's a little confusing. It’s interesting when i downloaded him, the two variations I had aren’t what everyone else had. I had something called Outworld Sorcerer and something else with only ninja moves
Shang Tsung does not morph back when he is supposed to when you hold block in the neutral. The recovery is always the same, yet the recovery is faster than the animation suggests.Hmm I did not know that so Shang recovers quicker if you don't block? Maybe timing block correctly makes him safer?
I can tell you for sure that when I downloaded Shang on Monday (I am in Russia so I had it 10 hours earlier than US) I checked if he had a damage boost on the Soul Steal by doing a throw ,and thought that he didn’t ,because I did a throw right at the end of the 6 seconds of morph time. Damage boost doesn’t apply to anything past 6 seconds even though Shang doesn’t morph back due to him being in a throw animation. have a damage boost on his Soul Steal. I even did Cetrion’s combos but due to them requiring you to do j3 jump cancel into j2, f13xxgeyser, Shang didn’t have a moment to morph back either, but the timer of the morph was up, so I got the same damage as Cetrion. So glad that there is damage boost after all!!Please read my post. There is a damage buff on everything except krushing and fatal blows.
Slide - BF4So do I have to know ALL roster of characters to be able to use ST for competition or its not necessary? From what I have seen so far he ends his combos in soul-steal move and always morphs into his opponent. Is threre another way to end up his combos without sacrificing much of the damage?
Ive been getting decent damage off Soulsteal buff. I Amplify Soulsteal which makes it 9s timer up from 6s.I can tell you for sure that when I downloaded Shang on Monday (I am in Russia so I had it 10 hours earlier than US) I checked if he had a damage boost on the Soul Steal by doing a throw ,and thought that he didn’t ,because I did a throw right at the end of the 6 seconds of morph time. You can end combos with s3 xx Ground Explosion (DB1) which does more damage or s3 xx BF4.So do I have to know ALL roster of characters to be able to use ST for competition or its not necessary? Not my point. b3u4 and b3d4 are an easy funny online as well, hell I fuzzy block it by mistake personally. Its good online but offline its fuzzyable even when using B3U4/B3D4. The B3U4 can be jumped into full combo punish. It will be godlike online and his D3 is broke but he will not get away with it offline. Almost everything is gaped and more negative after raw Flawless Block.
He is strong but very honest. I'm happy with shang I just don't Like that he only gets half damage after soulsteal on KB's (but does get more damage after Amped soulsteal in combos) and if he uses D2 KB he loses his.
The B2112 can be parried full screen which is (soap bar in my mouth).
It's extremely good, but I've been playing Shang mirrors all day and it's possible to distinguish after some practice. It's still very good though.D3 and B3 is a legit mixup, it's basically impossible to tell which is which
Damn son, it's tight butYou can get a far up skull midscreen after a F242
If I were to cancel it, would I retain the frame advantage and damage? This man has a nice sweep, good range and only -7.
So Soultaker's(Spellmaster) Scatter Souls charge delay actually charges the move up and buffs its damage and frame advantage. There are four levels and you can tell by the screen shaking. It doesn't seem to affect the amplify version. Not quite sure how you would use it but here you go.
No charge: 60 damage, -6 on block
Level 1: 80 damage, -1 on block
Level 2 100 damage, +4 on block
Level 3 120 damage, +4 on block
Nah, I wish.If I were to cancel it, would I retain the frame advantage and damage?
Already with the hotfixes? So , was something changed, I am getting 12% for his forward throw with 2% back now. I am pretty sure it was 10%+4% back yesterday)
I'm still getting 10% damage 4% lifesteal. I'll go restart system and check. If it gets changed to 2% back I'm gonna be pissedSo , was something changed, I am getting 12% for his forward throw with 2% back now. I am pretty sure it was 10%+4% back yesterday)
Have you noticed any changes yet Cuz there has been a hotfix that changed his (Forward throw) and his (B2112 string) to be a projectile on last 3 hits so it can't be parry'd fullscreen.Alright alright guys. Hear me out.
I've started whiffing b1 into d2 on the opponent's wakeup and it hits waaay more than it should. Honestly I feel my soul fading away each time I use it... luckily I usually steal my opponent's at the end of the KB combo.
It'll probably stop working this well once people figure out the match up, but that's just one more reason to abuse it!
God I love Shang!
