So in staff stance NW has a gap between 1f1 db2? There's one between db3 and bf3 as well, but it blows up reversals. i didn't know this.

Been playing around with Nightwing again and learning more combos, can he ever get passed 40% consistently without being in the corner? The most damaging without a jump in attack I could get was 39%-40%.
Staff Stance
1F.1, 4, DF.2 MB, B.3, J.3, J.3, Wingdings

Yes, it has a hole.
If you go for 1F1~DB2 then pokes will hit you of the DB2, don't know how big the hole is.

However if you're playing against someone who likes to poke there, you can go for DB3 and convert it into a 30% combo with MB.
It has a hole as well but it will blow up any people that like to interrupt it, I guess only armored special moves/supers can only interrupt it.

I'm platinum mad!
Saw this on the most recent Michigan Masters CORN stream.
This has to be one of (if not the) swag-filled combos 'err.

Corner (Staff): 2, 3, d1~4~Fury, d2~Fury, 113 = 31%

Idk if this has been posted yet since I haven't read every page, but

Corner:
MB Staff Spin, d1, d1, d1, d1, 1f1 xx Staff Spin = 31%
MB Staff Spin, d1, d1, 1, 1f1 xx Staff Spin = 33%
MB Staff Spin, d1, 1, 1f1 xx Flying Grayson = 34%
MB Staff Spin, d1, d1, 1, 1d3 = 30% Cross up flying grayson for 43%

I'm sure there are better ones but these seem like the best ones I've found.

Also MB Staff Spin, d2 xx MB Ground Blast, etc

i was watching a stream yesterday and the guy was doing B2 (something) df2 j3 wing dings. i would assume the (something) was f213, but with that string i can't get the j3 to land after the df2.

Sorry if this has already been posted, but I was playing around in training mode and noticed in escrima you can connect a f213 after hitting 113. After you opponent's launched, delay the f213 slightly and it will fully connect. You don't have many options after hitting the f213 other than flip kick or trait into staff spin. It's difficult to get escrima fury to connect, and if it does, it doesn't net you much.

So the combo would look like:
113, f213-db3 (26%)
note: db3mb doesn't seem to do any extra damage in this combo and you can't get anything off the bounce from what I've noticed

113, f213, trait-db3 (26%)
note: db3mb will net you 31%

Not sure how useful this is, but it's something. You may want to use this if you mess up a canceled special after hitting 113? I dunno.

Update: after playing around some more, I found that if you go f21 into escrima fury it will connect. So:

113, f21-df2mb, j3, db1 (37%).
That's pretty solid damage for a broken combo!

It may be useful against aquaman because after the 113 they're in a juggle state. If he activates his trait a little late, he's eating 37%. 113 is fast, so it's not out of the question.

Way I see it is, chances are you're landing Escrima Fury once, maybe twice in a match if you're lucky.

May as well optimize the damage as much as possible to make every time you land it worth it.

And again, the B3 is not as hard as people make it out to be.

I actually thought I was doing something wrong with my Dick. Most of my damage comes from frame traps and staff stance.

Tbh I disagree with Saitsu, I think with escrima you should be focused on setting up good positioning instead of straight good damage, Ive sacrificed 5-7% of my normal damage on combos so I can end in a hard knockdown to follow up for mixups

And you can still optimize the hard knockdown combos.

But if you ABSOLUTELY cannot rely on your ability to land it then yes, go for the easiest, simple hard KD combo you have. I'd give up 15% of damage if it meant I'd never drop a combo.

I know and I do good damage on my bnb in escrima, but unless if I missed something NW most damaging combos end in a techable knockdown

But my thing is I rarely ever open people up for an opportunity to land escrima fury. I guess im spoiled by marvel 3 and ssf4 hitconfirms.

I find that I can hitconfirm with escrima offline but online input delay makes nightwing feel likes he is walking on glue, so tbh staff is better online

Truth, justice and the American way.
I am not sure if this is known or not, but you can connect a b3 on a regular escrima fury.

F213~escrima fury (hold forward) B3 J2 J2 F213~Flip Kick 35% meterless
F213~escrima fury (hold forward) B3 J2 J2 F213~4~Staff Spin 35% meterless

F213~escrima fury (hold forward) B3 J3 F213~flip kick 35 % meterless
F213~escrima fury (hold forward) B3 J3 F213~4~Staff Spin 35% meterless.

However, I am going to combine this setup, utilize the the b3 to get a free naked 4, and go into the 1D3 in staff do do a crossup setup.

I will let you guys know how it pans out.

I am working on some new switch combos around it. It's pretty dirty.

I didn't think I'd be able to connect the b3 so consistently, the timing isn't as terrible as I thought, but it's still a leap above my level of execution. I've been in the lab practicing back dash timing on GL's b13 for a couple hours optimizing whiff punishing. Here's what I got.

B11 df2 b3 j3 f213 db3 - 34%

You can staff cancel f213 into staff spin for a ji2 cross up setup, and you'll still get 34% on the whiff punish.

Anyone got a better GL b13 back dash whiff punish? I know this is an extremely situational combo, but I play against a very good GL regularly and anything I can use to blow up b13 would help.

I mean, how much damage did the combo do? How many hits? Or better yet..a link to the stream with timestamp? Did you not try to re-create it yet? Might just have been a 3 or a 3,3.

Or you could describe the move like did he take the sticks and swing his arms wide as if he were swimming (3)? or did he bring them down together in a manner similar to hitting someone with a steel chair (2,2)?

If its the one after Doomsday does a Supernova (around 78 seconds match time) and he dashes out, he followed B2 with f2 into fury after, 27%.

And the one at 3:38:23, is B2, F2xxFury, J3xxWingDings MeterBurned for 11 hits, 32% damage.
