I said that she can stagger 112 after a d1 on hit actually.

At max range you can stagger d1: I labbed her against Black Adam and as long as she is out of the corner (where I can do f12 and low crush her next d1) and out of my d1 range, I assure you even on block it's her turn more than it is mine.

I'm really skeptic about interrupting the laser before it comes out as long as the Supergirl only uses it from time to time, as even though you might recognise it, you aren't ready for it as you would be next time. But hey, if you can react to it all the time props to you.
The risk reward for a laser cancel is not really in your favor. If by some magic it hits, that's minimal damage. On block you don't really net anything. If read or reacted to that's a full punish.

If it was airtight it'd definitely be worth canceling into frequently, but as it stands you're taking a fairly significant risk.

Why anyone who was hit with a d1 would stand up and block your standing 1 is beyond me. But using even the most basic logic, if you know she's going to mash something out you'd just block it, which sets up the situation of: 1) Force her to spend meter again or 2) Wait to punish the laser cancel, or 3) punish whatever else she does if she's out of meter.

Unsafe strings, problems in the neutral, no projectile obviously, not a ton of options vs anti-air zoning (Darkseid's beams track her lunge, for example).

Overall she's very good IMO, but the top top tier in this game (Batman, Adam, Superman, Aquaman, etc) is superb.
Thanks, I don't know much about her, but the great damage she gets out of very mobile and chaotic mixups made her a good candidate for the higher tiers in my eyes, but I can see why air zoning would shut her down. It's still early for me to have an opinion on her.

Yeah, her mobility is largely through lunges and dives, so while she does fine against horizontal zoning (duck, dash, duck, etc) air zoning can be a problem. Darkseid is trouble and Batman is a nightmare lol

112 is +, so here's a stagger for you. Besides, if you space it right you can even stagger her d1 as it's a low profiling 7f low starter.

And you can't interrupt string cancels into laser each and everytime unless you are ready for it as the Supergirl player is abusing it.

I said she has options, not that those options are free to abuse.
Yeah, please tell a Supergirl player what is plus and what's not because he obviously doesn't know that. Pretty obnoxious are u? :DOGE

He's the one that said that she has no stagger and everything she does leaves her at -9/-11.

Besides, early in this thread I labbed her plus frames off of MB breath and it looked like some big innovation (for some reason).

If you realistically think you're going to stagger a high string following her low pokes and that it's a viable tactic, I don't know what to say.

Yes, this +2 (its not +3, I'm sure you would need to tell me that aswell) which starts of a high and has a big ass gap is such a useful stagger in a game with d/b to block.
Did you actually play this character yourself or do you go to practice, check stuff and then feel like you actually know how she plays? One of those guys huh?

Oh silly me, going to the lab trying to figure stuff out.

I'm guessing the guy saying that she has no option after MB breath but blocking was right, no need to see if a 7f low profiling d1 low starter with good range has any use in that situation.

Besides, aren't you the one that in an early MKX tier list had Jax mid tier and justified it as "he's overrated" when casually he's your main? Granted, I've done the same, but you can't really call me "out of those guys", when you are "one of those guys" yourself.

If the opponent is respeting you, he needs to react to your s1 to get his turn going. Again, possible but you need to be ready for it.

But yo, don't use your tools then complain about having none. Have fun.

Wrong info. Never made a tier list + I said Jax was UNDERrated.
Still one of those guys who use a character in practice and then discuss like they used him for ages.

You keep saying 'starter', but you're not starting a combo unless you commit to d1~breath, which is either unsafe or will cost you a bar of meter to stay safe on block.

Wrong info. From what I remember I said Jax was UNDERrated.
I remember the opposite, but I might be wrong. Still, before the last patch Jax has always been considered solid, so it would be weird to call it underrated.

What matters though is that while I can understand people saying she's not great, let's not say that she has no option when she does.

It still demands some respect by the opponent's part.

We are never going to agree anyway, so let's just be thankful that tier discussions create so much arguing even at these early stages of the game.

Whatever, you can remember what u want. I played the character, I said in the early MKX he was underrated and said he was mid tier in the final game. I don't discuss characters I don't actually use.

welcome to the ButtSlam
j1 is an air to air not an anti air lol and you can backdash b12, lab b12 and look at how slow it is you can stand jab punish it. and yes you can jump from jump attack range and lanterns might will whiff, lanterns might cant be used to whiff punish or as a footsie tool anymore.

also b1 is not one of the best normals in the game at all, it was in IGAU but not in this with all the stupid shit scarecrow has, adam, superman, aquaman, catwoman, swamp thing, robin etc have. its really not among the best its just a low. it is good for sure but one of the best? nope.

and im not downplaying im just informing you that the character is nowhere near viable he isnt good he wasnt viable in the first game and he was toned down. the other legacy characters got cha nges and some nerfs and buffs but the only buffs GL got are his forward dash distance and walk speed.

if youre mad about me saying deadshot destroys him go to the GL forums and see if they disagree, its a fact that anyone can backdash b1 so how is that downplaying? im not even salty about it because im gonna main red hood i just want people to stop thinking he's a powerful character when he isnt.

instead of assuming im downplaying and arguing why dont you try testing the stuff out and playing as GL. i didnt start saying he was garbage as soon as i found out he needed buffs i gave it a few weeks lol
Dude, just stop omg!

You obviously dont know how to use b1 properly if you think it's a garbage normal, which you unbelievably stated in one of your previous posts. You mostly go 5-5, even win against the characters you listed (except bladam, but who doesnt lose to him?).

for christ sake even against aqua he does well. he cant just herp derp b123 in the neutral or f2/b2 cause b1 outfootsies him, and aqua's wakeup game is not his strongest suit.

you must be a guy who thinks that even MUs are bad MUs.

b123 is -9, I belive b12 is the -11 on block string.

Making her 1 a mid would be way too strong, and with her crazy good mobility and neutral she really needs no help in my opinion.

Besides, I still have to understand who she loses to.
You're right, actually. B123 is -9. I still think it should at least be -6.

Why would making 1 be a mid be too strong?

It's a quick string that is plus on block, removing the gap would be smarter imo
It being quick doesn't matter when it can be ducked. After jump in, D1 beats it clean. Doing it meaty only really works on delayed wakeup and the purpose is to do the 1 before it would connect anyway. And you have to be literally right next to them for it to connect. Her only plus string is duckable while Aquaman has a forward advancing low string that has distance and speed AND is not only safe but plus? And making Supergirl's 112 start mid would be too strong??

Pah lease

And to be clear, I main Aquaman as well.

I have to man. Supergirl isn't top tier and I used Aquamang in Inj1 and he's just as strong if not stronger in this game. You always have to main at least one top tier!
Hard not to agree but I can't get into any of the 'top tiers'. They are soooo fucking boring to play.

True, I hardly use Aquaman because it's boring. And I haven't even labbed him at all, just changed the combos a bit from Inj1, and I still win fairly easy with him. Supergirl eventhough she's not as good is so much more fun to play as.
