The risk reward for a laser cancel is not really in your favor. If by some magic it hits, that's minimal damage. On block you don't really net anything. If read or reacted to that's a full punish.I said that she can stagger 112 after a d1 on hit actually.
At max range you can stagger d1: I labbed her against Black Adam and as long as she is out of the corner (where I can do f12 and low crush her next d1) and out of my d1 range, I assure you even on block it's her turn more than it is mine.
I'm really skeptic about interrupting the laser before it comes out as long as the Supergirl only uses it from time to time, as even though you might recognise it, you aren't ready for it as you would be next time. But hey, if you can react to it all the time props to you.
If it was airtight it'd definitely be worth canceling into frequently, but as it stands you're taking a fairly significant risk.
Why anyone who was hit with a d1 would stand up and block your standing 1 is beyond me. But using even the most basic logic, if you know she's going to mash something out you'd just block it, which sets up the situation of: 1) Force her to spend meter again or 2) Wait to punish the laser cancel, or 3) punish whatever else she does if she's out of meter.
