I always crouched fullscreen agaisnt Deathstroke. Straight shots would go over your head. There was no reason not to crouch and just block then move forward.

I don't see what his f3 or b2 have to do with his gunshots? When hes within range of those normals. Hes in s3 or Hook Charge range for Lobo. I just have to pick my time to move against DS if hes walking back or what not then move forward once I blocked gunshots.

Batman it was different if he had trait out. If i blocked trait whether it was 1/2 bats it was still his turn. Lobo's jump was to floaty to avoid batarangs that followed after trait or he goes in and starts pressuring me.
You're applying Lobo's kit relative to how DS'a zoning was in the full cast.

You're also assuming he always has trait. Block it once, now he has to wait for it to recharge.

I'm not talking about the Deathstroke/Lobo match up. Or Batman vs Lobo.

Relative to the whole cast, Deathstroke was a better zoner than Batman.

The gunshots opened up these other tools. You're crouching to avoid the guns, so he uses that to use his overheads. It's basic conditioning.

Another thing: DS can use Reversal guns to full screen punish some projectiles, low guns to duck and punish others. So he does better in zoning wars outside the 3/4s screen range where Trait would be a factor.

I think people undervalue DS guns and how they synergied with his other tools.

I don't know what to say to this lol. His f3 range hits from about start of the match range. I'm not gonna be afraid of low gunshots from there. But like you said that might just be Lobo/DS mu thing. Cause when hes in that range, hes eating a s3 xx hookcharge.

I've played the game since launch and always had a harder time getting in on Batman than Deathstroke.

It's might be a Lobo/DS thing. I've also played Injustice since day 1. One of the reasons you'd see other top DS players use guns up close is because they were looking for the overheads. Once that was established, they'd start low blocking or what have you and they'd use f3.

It might just be a difference of opinion thing. I feel like DS zoning gets a bad reputation. It's very good.

Well this thread took a weird turn into talking about Batman/Deathstroke/Lobo lol. As much as I'd actually prefer that over discussing some of the somewhat horrifically designed 50/50-related stuff in MKX I'm going to have to remind you guys to keep it on topic, you can discuss Injustice 1 realted topics in the Lobo/Deathstroke/Injustice/wherever matchup discussion(s) :p

Be honest. This thread was dead until me and Rude starting talking about Injustice.

We kept this thread alive.

one of the most overlooked issues in the game are in-string mixups (Sonya, Reptile and so on).

the problem is, some characters forces you to block one way, making some options free to use. Reptile for example is guilty of this. since his f412 hits mid/OH/mid and one of his best normals is an OH there's no reason for you to block low, unfortunatley tho this makes f4 ex slide in the corner a free option that launches for 34% minimum. Really, nobody is gonna block that, it's unreactable and unreadable unless you always do that. If you block that you dont know the MU basically.

the same happens with Tanya, s1 ex low drill lololol.. free

There it is...
But I'm not getting hit by it, I'm blocking it, but then my opponent gets to be +22? For what reason? D'vorah hasn't spent any bar or anything on it and yet she gets a free mixup? I know there are ways out but you have to make a read.
Certain characters without meter have to take swarms all day for free cause if you jump she can just run in and AA you from fullscreen. Ferr torr on knockdown its a fucking nightmare. Floatiest hitbox, garbage movement speed.

From oki setups, you have to stay down to avoid the puddle then stand up and eat the 50/50.

Not to mention d4 swarm, cause like with cage, you basically have to eat d4's all game cause of the f2. Except her d4 is 9 frames, jump in range and has no hurtbox.

D'voras offence is one of the most braindead and stupid, safe 50/50s

Inb4 derp you play cage comments, his game is less stupid than hers.

I don't understand why if Kano spends a bar on a 50/50, you lose 40% if you guess wrong, and you get literally no reward if you guess right. It's still his turn even. At least if Alien, Ermac(kinda), Sub-Zero, Kenjutsu Kenshi, Kotal, Mileena, etc want to launch you they are unsafe.
Albeit b+1 used to have slightly less range, Cutthroat has always had safe 50/50 mix ups. The major difference is that many characters were normalized while Cutthroat, who was a high mid tier character for all but the game's early lifespan, was buffed. As a result, Cutthroat is a super top tier character while almost all of the previous top tier characters are mid tier. A classic example of NRS's tier shifting.

50/50's that lead to big damage either way would be somewhat ok if everyone had one. I play kitana and she only has her B2 that's an overhead but it doesn't armor break and it doesn't lead to a combo.

Unrelated but I'm salty about how some characters have trash d2's that don't hit behind them like mileena, jax, kang, and Johnny cage do; and also how some characters have godly crossover punches like sub zero whereas other characters have to time their punches very very carefully in order to have them hit the opponent when jumping over them.

Why is it that people complain so much about anti airs. At high level you rarely see anybody having issues with it. And you can always trip guard it anyway. Or simply move back and do what you do. Plus the uppercut is hella effective if you have nothing else.

50/50s should never be safe. But they are apart of the game. And if pro players deal with it we can too. I have lost tons of games making bad reads on my opponent and my on screen character died. But I didn't. So I just played more games. And I have locked people out and pulled the same crap on them. Stop bitching. And fined what works. If you were a better player. You would win. Dealing with 50/50s is minimal guessing. And maximal understanding of the person you are playing.

movement in MKX is slower with some characters, there is also a select few characters who are wonky enough when doing an air attack that it can even stuff moves such as KL spin which shouldn't happen, add that with long range reaching normals and fast run speeds and you have what people are complaining about mostly.

Because not everyone has the time and/or talent to play at that level and as such will have a hard time anti-airing.

Are we really still having this conversation? Have people just not gotten it yet?

MKX... is geared... towards offense. Ridiculous offense... such as 50/50s... that are safe... loopable... long range... or whatever.

This is the game we have, and have had, for sixteen months. Seriously, shitcan the "are 50/50s not fun/killing the game/broke" threads already. Every single one. This topic isn't a dead horse we're still beating. It's a grassy patch of dirt that flourished from the fertilizer provided by decomposition of tissue and meal created from the bones we continued to beat into dust.
