Community Concerns Regarding NEC '13

GTFO Dave, I play on both regularly. 360 lags at the select screen, but plays better in-game. You have been biased about this in the past and you're doing it again. We know more now than we did way back whenever you guys made that decision.

This is true. In my match with XBL Mind Gamez at Evo, on an ASUS that was not connected to any stream equipment, he caught me in Cage's xray and was unable to get the b3 followup because the game lagged (visually, not just him being dumb). Stuff like this has NEVER happened on xbox.

We NEED to have our own public point system for our FGC tournaments. This way if WW has 3000 points and Blue nine has 2000 or whatever, there can be no speculation or argument. That would solve everything.

I have this covered, and it will be a lot better than the point system. But I need everyone's participation to get it rolling.

Kombat network needs to shut cd jr and stop him from coaching maxter during a match. Even the commenator said it wasent legal and should be " DQ" for doing that... But i forgot is cd jr, he always does that. This cost a lot of people winning a match over someone that doesnt know the MU.

Dude this is not a NY bias kind of thing. Even Jer went up to give advice to Big D in his match vs SonicFox and it wasn't a big deal. Neither are from NY

Would it be fair to have 4 tournament players make the bracket to keep each other in line?

The 4 people would have to be 100% public

The bracket/pools would need to be released 5 days prior to tourney

i dont see the problem with coaching, if someone doesnt remember something about a matchup you may as well confiscate the players phones so they cant look up notes beforehand, and good luck doing that lol.

Soonk, I'm not saying you held up the entire thing, if that's what you thought I meant.. I'm saying it's ironic that you'd complain about seeding issues while specifically avoiding pitching in to help the project that's solving them.

It's not a ton of work for each person, takes about 5-10 mins MAX.. But to make it happen we just need a little bit of participation from everyone.

The stream monitor on Saturday was Bad. The lag was horrible. Soonk and Curbo were literally talking to each other about it mid match.

Can 16bit elaborate on what Sth meant about keeping quiet? That could be misinterpreted.

I had no idea about Riu till after the event. It sucks cuz I probably would of made top 8. But regardless he played good and deserved his spot. I do see how ppl can take that as special treatment but I understand where dark rob is coming from

WOW, so this thread is pretty much what I have been saying since EVO. I guess it takes a person named GGA Soonk for people to actually give a fuck! lmao..... Check this out. The outcome of EVO would not have been changed necesarilly but it might have shaken things up a little.

First we had Master D move from his original pool which had 1 other top player Pig Of The Hut, move to pool k20 who already had decent competition with players such as k-frog, Cat, PND_Ketchup, Marvaz, CptXecution.....Had master d not moved from his pool it would have been a toss up between himself and pig. That alone right there would have shook things up BIG time.

Then we had shoryuken added to the pool, ANOTHER top 3 player in his area....Things got harder definately. Last minute decision by the TO okd this i suppose, so I was fine with that.

Then lastly, out of nowhere, Tom Brady informed be right before the pool was about to start that Noobe was added as well....I dont know about you guys buy , Kfrog, cat, ketchup, cptexectution, shoryuken, myself, noobe, master d all in 1 pool???? hmmmm

You guys might say well why are you so upset?? Well i felt like my money was wasted going to an event that was "rigged"...Just look at who I had to beat to come out POOLS.. Shoryuken,master d, ketchup, kfrog, noobe, that alone is a mini tournament in itself..

Imagine what happens if Noobe had not been allowed into our pool??? And Master d stay in his origianl pool. We would have had myself and someone else out of pool k20 and pig and master d in their pool. That alone would have been a HUGE change of outcome of top 16!

Thats why i stopped playing at tournaments and stopped posting in these shitty forums, cause ONLY if you are a certain someone your posts matter.

To end things, and reply about the original post. What happend at NEC is another "Favoring" issue that should be addressed.

The STH pic was just an off-handed joke. Who knows what they were talking about. My main issue isn't that he may have rigged the brackets, its that any player had their hands in bracket making, thus rigging was a possibility.

no, he explained that he forgot to add riu, which nobody is buying. pimpuigi was swept under the rug.

I don't want to get involved with this right now. But i will say this much. On The On Blast Show when Phil and Dark Rob were on in regards to the 3 out of 5 thing it was talked about that Riu was going to come late and this can be confirmed by looking at the shows archive stream chat. I am almost 100% sure that Maxter brought up Riu coming late in the stream chat and either Phil or Dark Rob said something about it on OBS. So honestly Dark Rob FORGOT to add him. Is it wrong he was added in and didn't have to wait as everyone else did that's debatable but to complain that it wasn't known or say @DarkRob is lieing is BS. It was something he forgot and being i watched this being talked about On The Blast Show. The most I see is being he forgot to add him it wasn't known maybe for people who listened out side of the On Blast Show.

Like I said in Showtimes thread, the RIU thing is wrong. Even letting him choose what pool time to be in. Being placed in later pools should not be allowed. Tommy Wafflez couldn't attend UFGT8 and I had to take a day off of work because of this. Keits and CurlyW are nazis and rightfully so when it comes to pool placement.

Pig Of The Hut Regarding seeding, I'd suggest a two-step process, where 2 or 3 players who are involved with the MK community give a ranking of the current players (it could be a rough tier-type list or as specific as you want to make it), then either hand it off to another, uninvolved party to actually create the pools OR have a computer randomize the pools making sure that there's an even distribution between top seeds and lower ranked players.

CRUM The problem with random seeding is that you could potentially have a pool filled with all top players that eliminate each other before even getting out of pools. It makes top 16 completely uninteresting because scrubs were able to weasel their way out of pools (and subsequently get bodied by whoever made it out of the top player pool_, meanwhile everyone's pissed because several top players go 0-2, which statistically should never happen in a well-balanced bracket.

Mannnnnn the more and more i think about that evo bullshit the less I want to compete. The only reason I would start playing again and going to most tournaments is if their are SET bracket makers and it is random by seeding and made public. I think that point was brought up already.

He did arrive late, explained his situation, and appealed to the tournament organizers (with the assistance of Tom Brady, who I believe was merely advocating for the strongest tournament possible). The k20 pool still had room, so it was the obvious choice.

We're not trying to rig anything. Tournaments are very chaotic and sometimes you have to make difficult decisions. It was determined that moving Noobe (someone who paid quite a bit to attend and had every intention of playing) into a pool with room provided a more desirable outcome than upholding the disqualification and removing a player due to an unintentional rule violation.

Concerning "favoring", Noobe was disqualified at the same point other players were disqualified. Any player can appeal to the TOs concerning this ruling, and I know other players have had the ruling reversed, regardless of their status in the community.

@pigofthehut im with you on the way things get seeded it just makes sense. I can see where @Qwark is coming from, but then Qwark you gotta understand people aren't gonna watch a stream with Reo blowing up people left and right because he knocked out the competition that wasn't knocked out or randomed. As a tournament player I kind of see getting tough matches like life. You can't always choose what obstacles you gotta cross.

Arrangements or not, you just can't add people in the last second. If you do, then people are gonna be pissed. Nobody knew about this until it happened. So naturally people are gonna be pissed and conspiracies are gonna be discussed. I probably won't make UFGT coming up...but I'll talk to Kiets so maybe I will. I could pop in at any time.

Also, LBSH. If this was someone who was not from New York or VSM...their ass would've been ordering a Blizzard at the nearest DQ.
