My mistake... $60 with MK fee included...Its still too much....
I agree. Register early and pay $35 instead.

Why would you make MK9 on Xbox360 when every other tournament (legit one) follows the standards set by EVO - PS3 + ASUS...

Are you aware of the fact that 90% of the pad players use PS pads?
Why do they have to buy those shitty converters for nothing?
So because EVO uses PS3, every tournament must also do so or it is not legit? Even though the PS3 version is notably worse? 360 players make controller concessions for PS3 players every week, and when PS3 players are asked to do the same, they react like this? What a joke.

If you followed this at all, which you didn't, you'd know that Focus Fire will have converters for rent at the venue. Even if we didn't, being asked to do what the other half of the community has already done shouldn't provoke you into acting self-entitled, but that seems to be a motif on this website.

If you support MK, do it the right way.... NRS dropped 1K for every evo qualifier. your event just happened to be one of them so don't brag about that.
No they didn't. There are about 20 Road to EVO events this year. Only three have the 1K bonus from WB. I can't speak for CEO or ECT, but I'll tell you I knocked super hard and super often on NRS' door to get this done.

Good luck with the tournament tho, looking forward to see laggy converters and glitches all over the place.
Good luck with life behind your computer monitor tho, looking forward to see you spend the rest of it shitting out poor troll posts.

Great work for everything you do Keits. I do have one gripe with you though...
Why don't you have your One Piece avatar?

<3 Keits, best T.O PERIOD! And he's 100% fair.

Also...what Tim Static said.

I'm staffing this tournament and I'll have a TON of brackets to run all weekend. But if I can get a lagless PS2 -> 360 converter (heard it doesn't exist, and I REFUSE to play on 360 pad...fuck that lol) to borrow then I'll enter MK at this definitely.

Only game I registered for at this tournament so far is MFGT. Gonna enter VF5: FS too, as long as it's on PS3.

This weekend is gonna be fucking amazing I can't wait.

Ikizzle, I'm rooting for you. But second place is the highest you can get, ATL gets first place.

Congrats. You are still complaining about of ton of stuff that is either solved (coverters), irrational (360 version hate, thinking everyone should just do what EVO does, even though EVO's system choice is purely based on the fact that they own PS3s), or based on self entitlement. As well as just plain making stuff up (WB sponsoring all road to evo events).

You are not doing your community a service behaving this way.

It's all good Keits, no worries brotha. The MK community appreciates all that you have done, and are currently doing, for us. And soon everyone will witness exactly how much your fairness and you being a great Tournament Director....pays off.

With UFGT8 being a great success!

Hey Keits,

Coming from the perspective of someone who attends tournaments as both a competitor and organizer I see where you're coming from in terms of getting frustrated with some members of the MK community; at the same time however it seems like similar problems that a lot of us have had in the past could occur again.

I'm not speaking for everyone here, but every tournament that I have been do there has been at least one loss resulting from a converter issue. For instance, at Civil War I lost a round due to playing on a 360 with a ps2/converter, TrickyLizard lost a whole match and Blackula lost a round to me in losers finals. Now while one can make the argument that people who wish to play on 360's pads would have to use a converter while playing on ps3; the large majority of pad players use the ps3/ps2 pad. At each tournament I've only seen one or two players per tournament use another controller. When running a tournament on 360 you are forcing most likely over 50% of your player base (for a game like MK at least) to use converters or another controller. I commend you for taking the responsibility and having the organization to have rental converters, but gather ps3's is not that difficult. The MK community is extremely self reliant and when asked for help we supply a lot of our own equipment. There is no fact that MK runs better on either system; the hell stage lags on ps3 but the desert stage lags on 360 - those are your difference in gameplay.

On to pre-regestering: this is a pain in the ass to be honest. Unless I know for sure that I can get my money back just in case I have to back out, I will never pre-register for an event. I understand the benefits of having everyone register a week before the tournament; but the fact that you will still take at-door people and still have to change brackets is confusing to me. Why push the issue then; and why increase the coast by so much?

I believe AC1984 meant to say that all 3 upcoming evo events have the $1000 pot bonus. Who knows why or how the other events got the money; but everyone attending UFGT owes you thanks for that. Regardless, from a consumer point of view; why travel half way across the country when a tournament closer to us is going to offer the same prize?

---

While some of the community may be ungrateful, we're getting spoiled at the moment with a lot of MK-only events such as Flawless Victory and then there's MLG. With all these great MK events, we actually have the ability to pick and chose which ones we want to go to now. Again, from a consumer point of view, I don't think there is any reason for the north east to travel over 15 hours to worry about converter issues/new controllers, pay double the price of other events or face pre-registering, have the same prize money as something much more local, and lack a small off-stream for pools due to contract issues. A professional tournament like UFGT is a business in a sense, so I hope you can look at this from that point of view rather than thinking I'm bashing or complaining about the tournament you hold. UFGT is a nice product, but just not for me (and what seems to be a large majority of MK players on travel restraints).

Best of luck with UFGT; sorry that there has been so much backlash from the community.

And most insulting of all, is that a comment like this will probably get looked over by our community. Had I just called you an asshole for insulting my friend; I would probably get a quick response and a few likes from the TYM members.

I believe someone posted actual proof of something a while back (I'm too lazy to find it) but I have experienced a couple actual random lag spikes on different stages on ps3, outside of xrays. This has never happened to me on any stage on xbox.

Also, Keits do the terms of the event prevent streaming from a 4G card, or are they just for the internet usage?

I would like to see actual evidence of this occurring (outside of the 1 in a million) and being able to prove it was the ps3 and not the hdmi cable nor television/monitor/copy of game.

At Civil War the game froze for a second while I was playing and then went back to normal. Who's to say it was the 360 and not a scratched disk or monitor issue?

The only argument one can make about the difference in systems is the convenience for pad players on ps3 and disconnecting/reconnecting controllers on ps3 grants you more control.

I've said it before and I will say it again: gameplay should come before the controller. No way should PS3 be tournament standard.
I've said it before and I will say it again: you have no proof that the ps3 version is any less tournament viable than the 360. A quick poll will tell you that most likely 70% or more of our player base use a ps3 controller. Also converters can and have had issues, gameplay issues.

Lol well if you want to talk about disconnecting controllers, xbox actually lets you easily see on the console if there is another controller connected, therefore no home button issues

But you can not switch the controller number like you can on a ps3, correct? Without plugging it into a different slot ect.

EDIT: You know what, sorry - here we go into opinion land.

The only fact is most pad players play on the ps3 type controller.

Actually it was posted awhile back ago on srk news. The differences in ps3 and 360. 360 also has 1 less frame of lag.
