Two men enter, one man leaves!
Megadeth's not too bad either. Rust in Peace and Peace Sells are really their only good albums.

Oh man, I wasn't trying to upset you with my remark. Bottom line though, any poll dealing with the greatest anything is just going to be a popularity contest. As for Dimebag, yes he was talented. He's also overrated in my opinion. Heafy is also talented, but I don't like his music at all. And that's what's important to me. It's not how talented you are, it's what you do with it. There's thousands of bands who don't display the skill that Trivium do, yet I think their music is better. Something else I don't get, is why you think I was being a douche. I mean, yeah, my remark could be taken as condescending, but I do want you to know that wasn't my attention.I see how you'd laugh, but this isn't my opinion. It was a poll on ultimate-guitar.com (I believe). But you can't honestly say there's many better guitarists since the turn of the 21st that are better than dimebag. And matt heafy is boss. I don't understand how people can be douches and dicks about someone elses music choice, I mean its opinion. I don't think its hilarious that you don't agre with me lol. And once again, it wasn't my opinion, it was a poll taken by a guitar community similar to this forum.
It's because these bands get credit despite objectively inferior musicianship. It's an atrocity that this dude from Trivium generally gets more praise than someone like Sanders or Suicmez. This isn't my opinion, this is an objective statement on complexity.Ah, there's the crux! If no one praised them you wouldn't care. It's not just that others like them when you don't. It's that many others like them and they receive a lot of praise and are... dare I say it... that evil word... Mainstream! How can they receive so much praise when they don't meet the standards of the great rev0lver!??
Let people like who they like, praise who they praise. Why must it be such a mission for you to let people know you don't like something that they like, moreover, trash something they like. It gets really annoying after awhile, rev0lver.
Countdown to Extinction is good too, forgot about that one. After that though...
I don't think this would actually happen, but if it did, that's kind of pathetic. Honestly, seeing a kid in a Trivium shirt at a death metal show is a positive thing as far as I'm concerned. Being exposed to different music is a good thing as far as I'm concerned, and maybe he/she would actually like it and become more into it.Wear a Trivium shirt to a death metal show and expect to get punched out lol.
The reality is, there's a lot of hazing in regards to metal, you mention a mainstream band (we all started with a mainstream band which we now thinks sucks...I started with Slipknot and got hazed constantly for it). The idea is that eventually you succumb to "Alright, fuck it...what's this shit you guys keep rambling about?! Oh wow...this shit's fucking good! Wow this old lame ass shit I used to listen to blows ass!"Ah, there's the crux! If no one praised them you wouldn't care. It's not just that others like them when you don't. It's that many others like them and they receive a lot of praise and are... dare I say it... that evil word... Mainstream! I think every album has at least 3 songs I would consider good and BTW Killing is my business is up there with peace sells and rust in peace. I have only disliked United abominations but even that had Sleepwalker, Never walk alone, and a tout le mondeCountdown to Extinction is good too, forgot about that one. After that though...
Oh shit that probably did sound awful now that I read it.. it wasn't a direct insult at you I can assure you lol but other than the popularity how can one know whose better (which is a rather impossible task in and of itself)? Notes per minute? Platinum cds? I'm really not being an ass here I promise I'm just trying to get some feedback lol I personally think there are better than those two, they just get credit. And I understand hating a popular band, I mean it seems everyone loves bullet for my valentine and ill say it first that they're garbage. I respect your opinions and I apologize if it seemed I was being rude, I mean everyone has their own opinions and they're entitled to them.Oh man, I wasn't trying to upset you with my remark. But why can't I or rev0lver express our opinion about Trivium? Because it's negative? I don't see the logic. But you are right, it is opinion, which is why I don't think anybody should be getting their panties in a bunch over what someone else thinks about the music they listen to. I listen to a lot of death metal. Do you know how many times people have put down the music I listen to? Or refer to it as "Kill-your-mother" music? And guess what, the only thing I think is, "Their loss."
Here's the bottom line as far as I'm concerned. If you enjoy the music you're listening to, then that's all that matters, because that's the ultimate reason to listen any music. Enjoyment. Why let what someone else thinks about your music affect you?
I've already seen it happen, hence why I gave that example.I don't think this would actually happen
Hmm, I actually include up to the Black Album. Load was the beginning of the end to me.Metallica were kings up till "And justice for all" After that they lost a lot imo. Megadeath stood up.
Rust in Peace is definitely the best I think.I think every album has at least 3 songs I would consider good and BTW Killing is my business is up there with peace sells and rust in peace. I have only disliked United abominations but even that had Sleepwalker, Never walk alone, and a tout le monde
No apology necessary. No offense was taken. As for greatest guitarists, I don't really care about it. AND RAPE YOUR DOG! KILL! KILL! KILL!"Kill-your-mother"
Gah. White Zombie > Rob Zombie.I can't believe I forgot rob zombie.. such a badass
That's so dumb. I seriously doubt this would happen in Maryland though. By the way, was it this guy?I've already seen it happen, hence why I gave that example.
First of all, even if you want it to be so, it's not an objective statement to say one band is better than another. The fact that you would even hint at the notion that your opinion is a fact is really amusing. It's because these bands get credit despite objectively inferior musicianship. It's an atrocity that this dude from Trivium generally gets more praise than someone like Sanders or Suicmez. This isn't my opinion, this is an objective statement on complexity.
It's also because mainstream metal bands give the impression that they represent modern metal, when they do not. You talk to a random person on the street about death metal and they think of something like Slipknot. It's insulting. Wear a Trivium shirt to a death metal show and expect to get punched out lol.
That guy looks like he spends A LOT of time in his mother's basement lifting weights. I bet he rents a lot of B grade horror movies from blockbuster when he borrows his mother's station wagon too! Speaking of Maryland...MDF MAN! I hate you for living there...you lucky bastard! That's so dumb. I seriously doubt this would happen in Maryland though. By the way, was it this guy?

What makes me laugh is when people say they're bad because they're mainstream sellouts. The reason they're popular and mainstream is because they make good fucking music lol. And I did get some funny looks wearing a trivium shirt to a concert.. but maybe because I wore it to kenny chesney, who knows.First of all, even if you want it to be so, it's not an objective statement to say one band is better than another. The fact that you would even hint at the notion that your opinion is a fact is really amusing.
And I have worn a Trivium shirt to a death metal concert. The only real response I got was a couple of the actual band members saying that they liked Trivium. In case you were going to ask, it was Samhain fest in NC a couple of years ago.
That's not the problem. People talk shit about the music I listen to all the time. But when people start saying it's a fact that certain bands are shit or that they're objectively inferior, that's when they need to realize they're full of shit. But why can't I or rev0lver express our opinion about Trivium? Because it's negative? I don't see the logic. It's Will Rahmer from Mortician. That guy looks like he spends A LOT of time in his mother's basement lifting weights. I bet he rents a lot of B grade horror movies from blockbuster when he borrows his mother's station wagon too!
I know it's Will RahmerIt's Will Rahmer from Mortician.
I don't know if you remember this, but it's pure gold.
Reverse Mental Torture!!!
He was speaking on terms of musicianship/instrument playing. That's not the problem. People talk shit about the music I listen to all the time. But when people start saying it's a fact that certain bands are shit or that they're objectively inferior, that's when they need to realize they're full of shit.
ajajajaj this made me laugh. The bold part was when I realised you were joking and you knew what you were talking aboutThat guy looks like he spends A LOT of time in his mother's basement lifting weights.
