Quite an exhaustive discussion going on, not sure if I should encourage you to produce more posts but one thing is certain here. In the end, no matter what will be said, you will stay on the opposite sides of the barricade and you will not change your minds. Whatever arguments the other side will have, it wont happen. People dont tend to change their minds on such topics. Even if they understand, or trying to understand, others pov.

I'm leaning more towards Nicko's view here but that's a sidenote and anyone who recognizes my previous posts should already know that.

Back on topic, kinda... I just decided I will treat both new cyborg ladies as brand new MK characters. They are not THE Cyrax and THE Sektor of this timeline, in my book. Just some random chicks that happen to join Lin Keui this time and wear ironmanlike suits. And I will give them both different codenames in my headcanon. They can be somehow related to the original Sektor and Cyrax but they will never replace them 1:1. Just as Kate Bishop will never replace Hawkeye 1:1 and Ironheart will never fully replace Iron Man. You get the point.

There was a crazy idea by one of the users few pages back, that their suits are created out of original cyborgs. I'm backing this up. However Im still missing the OG ketchup and mustard, I would accept that.

Nevertheless, it is still crazy for me why they didnt just follow that route of current C&S being completely new characters with different colors and codenames. It would make sense, it would sell anyways and diehard fans would somehow be calmed. Plus they have so many women in MK lore, so many possibilities are just lying there undiscovered but ready to be picked up. Why messing up something that's already well established just for the sake of messing. I really dont get that.

Whole story should move forward after MKX, despite I still feel that MKX story was bad, it was at least a step into a right direction, not retelling the same thing over and over and could be a solid ground for future world building on the well known basics. Back to the future/multiverse bullshit ruined the MK story ans MK world completely IMO.

More than a fair take. I also will definitely play as the iron ladies - besides Noob -, as much as I disagree with the genderswap. In the end, I waited for a decade to play a modern MK game which has all of my favorites and MK1's roster is indeed one of the best, imo. As long as we don't take into account 'armageddon' type rosters. And even THAT is grossly outdated considering there have been a LOT of newcomers in MKX and MK11.

As for the Jacqui hate that some people mentioned ... my take is that it is clearly because of her OP status in online matches and her being broken like Sheeva's stomp was, back in the day - and Johnny in MK1. I always thought she was a decent character, and aside from Kung Jin who was written like a complete asshole, the Kombat Kids were likable characters.

It's a shame that Takeda seems to be the only KK who came back in MK1, though I can see the similarities between MK1 Sektor and MK11 Jacqui. We'll see.

One thing is certain: the new trailer and the release date being very close did its purpose: it made me re-install MK1 and dabble a little bit in invasions. I'm not nearly as crazy about MK1 as I was with MK11 in terms of play time, but I am warming up to it.

 

I didn't even notice it on first glance, but I saw someone mention how nice it was that Noob is fighting with his fists again. I really didn't like that sickle shit at all in MK11

I think the real test tho is gonna be if Noob got his black blood back.

Also rewatching the trailer, I wonder if they spoiled a massive plot detail. Look at everybody that Noob kills in the trailer, they're all Khaos characters. Also at the end, he's dodging away from Evil Takedas whips, and lands next to Liu Kang, as if they're fighting together. I didn't read any of the leaked script, but I do have to wonder if Noob will have a face turn in this game.

If you would have told me that Noob would be a good guy, I would have vomited. But man seeing just how reluctant Bi Han looks when he's getting transformed, I wouldn't mind it.

Instead of these unproven concepts, it seems the Evolutionary Psychologists believe in the “dual strategies theory”, where humans use dominance and prestige and that prestige plays a significantly more important role in establishing men's attractiveness to women than does “dominance”.

From the leaks i know noob crashes kuais wedding,and thats when i stopped reading.
I think its equally as likely he stays bad as is he has a change of heart(possibly turing back to sub zero and being good again).

Which begs the question what happens with noob in this new era,if its the one that keeps going forward,and hes back to being sub zero.

They are yet again so far down the multiverse rabitt hole they might need to heavy reset everythign again for the next mk,depending on how this mk1 thing ends.

So everyone keeps saying Liu Kang reverts Bi-han after the dlc. I didn’t gather that from what I read.

Liu Kang says he can heal his mind, but must place him in the temple of the elements to study Havik’s chaos magic (or something along those lines).

I think it would be nice if Liu Kang’s trusting nature bites him in the ass and he gives Noob (bi-han) what he wants. It’s mentioned Bi-han wants in the temple of elements so maybe they could make Noob a whole lot more important in the next game from that plot point.

Plus I may be in the minority but I hate Bi-han as Sub-Zero. I much prefer his brother and the identity swaps in this game didn’t sit well.

I'm kinda late, and I don't like most changes like what they've done to Scorpion, Shao, Rain, or Tanya, but what's particularly annoying about the cyborgs is that not only they have not been playable since MK9, NRS keeps teasing us with them. Oh, you would like to play as the Cyrax and Sektor in MKX? Well, here's cyborg Chameleon, it's the same thing. Oh I bet you loved that new design Sektor had in the MK11 trailer, but, spoilers, he's just a storymode NPC. Disappointed they were not in the last two games? Don't worry, they are back from the start for you to play as in MK1, as Kameos only!!! Oh, you don't like having the cyborgs as kameos only? Don't worry, we'll release them as fully fledged characters, but they'll be woman, oh, and also, they are no longer cyborgs. And now who knows how long it'll be before we get to see their old selves again.

Yeah I dislike every MK character design in this. Noob looks weird. Sektor and Cyrax being in ugly Iron Man suits instead of full Cyborgs is whack. If you're going to do human versions, do human versions like the MK9 ones

The writing around then was pretty shit. That’s not really unique to them, shit writing everywhere for awhile now, but it’s personally the weakest thing about them.

 

It's funny; I remember a lot of people being very toxic here in regards to Jacqui and the other special forces and I never understood why.

But yeah, Cetrion, Jacqui, Cassie, are all awesome.

Because they're boring as fuck. If I'm playing a game about a mystical martial arts tournament, I don't need a huge amount of the roster to be generic soldiers.

Biiiiiiiig disagree on your take GOAT Cetrion. Additionally, Cassie Cage is a far cry from a generic soldier. Your girl repels down a rope upside down! She's literally saying, "Fuck physics, I'm here for swag."

Besides, I think having more than one soldier is...fine. We have like 8 ninjas who run the elemental spectrum, I think we can handle a few soldiers.

 

I'm honestly not fussed about the gender swap for the cyberninjas. What makes me cringe is simply how much they remind me of that godawful 'Predator Killer' suit, even down to the new shoulder weapons...

 

And they will fail. Because as much as they want to, they cannot 'train' the majority of women to like fighting games, in the same way that they cannot 'train' straight men to be excited to watch Barbie. The majority of men and women want different things as entertainment, and that's f-i-n-e.

They don't need to 'train' them. They just needed to make games more inclusive, which they are.

There are already more women in the fighting game scene now than there were when I first found it, and in the MK scene as well. The Tekken scene is even ahead of us. If we learn to stop being weird about it, this trend will continue.

I don’t see a point in paying for the whole package if it doesn’t come with any assists. Seems like if you’re into the gameplay mainly it will be better just to pick and choose who you like.

There's been datamines that have found that there's some sort of Tag mode inside the game. It could be that they're holding off on new Kameos because they're going to introduce some sort of Create an Assist like Skullgirls has
