my problem is pressure after kd.. i b1 but thats unsafe and the when i go safe its d2 and i get smoked idk just trying to find median.... thank you for the constructive input
In the corner after a knock down 212 is really good. Its safe and launches. Or you can just go for a D4. What variation are you using.

i try to d1 or d4 to keep ppl honest but alll the starters are high except b1 so they just d2 for the kb

Well your first mistake is using that new variation. Just forget it exists. Stick to Seeing Double.

Try your best not to use highs until you feel like they respect you. Spam your D1's, d3's, d4's, and b1's until they respect you. If they never do then keep them away with Noob's reach. B3 Slide is good. The f2 string, while a high is really good. Stay mid range and spam slides. Watch out for their jumping.

That's pretty much all I got. I'm no master with him. I just get by.

with what range fam I played a scorpion tele on block b1 wiffed has 50% of the time. And we gonna talk about how b1 1+3 doesnt come out consistently ... my guy miss me with the toxic shit
Nobody's being toxic to you. Toxic would be if I called you a moron for being unable to punish scorpion TP with it.

You have a 9f mid with no hurtbox that also sets you up for counterpoke whiff punishes. That's better than 90% of the cast. B11+3 comes out consistently if you spend 30 mins in practice mode learning how to do it, the only weird thing it has going is the cancel window.

so i just picked up noob because i played him in mk9 and im having A ROUGH time because the lack of mids. I tried to switch to the wait and punish game and ive timed out and lost my past 3 KL matches doing that. Just asking for a little insight from yall who played since day one. thanks in advance
His b1 is an excellent 9f mid with no hurtbox. You can't hitconfirm as the full string is unsafe but with Seeing Double you can make it safe with mb slide. Use B1 1+3 for punishes or counterpoking that will lead to the KB, don't throw it out all the time.

I just started playing Dark Sabbath (only just picked up Noob and Seeing Double wasn't very fun to me.) Anything I should watch out for with this variation?

  • Expect to be D1 and D2'd a lot.
  • Be aware that most of the time if you get them in a combo they will breakaway.
  • Understand that over half the cast can punish B1, 1+3 Leran who those characters are.
  • Never use B1, 1+3 while YOU'RE in the corner
  • Understand that you most likely never hit the Shadow Tackle KB
  • Same for B3, 1+3 KB
  • When things work out, this variation does BIG damage without much effort.
  • Jade...

This post is a contender for the most amount of downplay in the least amount words I have seen in a while. Congrats!

literally the only thing he exaggerated about was the rarity of the shadow tackle KB. It's doable quite easily with seeing double. Everything else he said was spot on.

He replied to a post asking how to play seeing double lol

Regardless, if someone is asking how to play a character they want to know what to do, not a sarcastic "just dont do any of this" downplay laced post

Learning how to avoid the unsafe stuff is half the battle with Noob. Can't be aggressive with your only mid unless you burn your meter on block, and yeah against low level mashers you'll get poked out of lots of plus situations due to his high strings, as well as D2d a lot, this actually happens against higher level people who know the noob matchup well.
With Noob you gotta learn how to be safe and calculate your aggressiveness or else the dmg taken to given ratio gets really tough to win.

Otherwise my advice for seeing double is F221 string is your friend, get used to the distance of B3, D3, and D4, and use shadow slide unpredictably off of all them.

I didn't mean to make it sound like that. I just prefer Seeing Double so much after the buffs.

I do think it's good but not for me anymore. Sorry.
I think both are really good variations IMO. I use them depending on the MU and my opponent's habits. For example, if I go against a Liu Kang that keeps pressuring me or try to make some space, then I use Seeing Double. If I see that a Liu Kang applies space control with his fireballs most of the time, then DS is the answer. If you're spot on with your footsies and whiff punishes, Dark Sabbath is a nightmare to deal with.
