Fatal Blows must be changed

Nothing wrong with femininity.
But, not wanting to be attacked is a human thing not a man or woman thing.

You were implying MK wasn't as good as other fighters and that it was for "casuals".
Sorry you don't know how to block. Maybe if you weren't a casual youself you wouldn't lose to Fatal Blows. Sorry you are bad. Maybe try Tekken or something since you can't hang with us lowly MK casuals because you don't block.
There's no reason to divulge regarding your first sentence. You've said enough about yourself in that aspect. I'll give you credit for admitting it though.
But yes, MK is definitely the most casual out of any fighting game. And fatal blows? Crushing blows too? MK11 is probably the most causal MK game. That doesn't mean it's a bad game though, nor does it mean I don't like it. I wouldn't be playing it if I did. Saying "go back to Tekken" isn't really an insult either. That's like a COD player telling somebody to "go back to Halo". Obviously, one game is more skill-based. It's a flawed argument.
I'm still waiting on that quote, or quotes rather.
You guys just make up stuff as you go now.

Make stuff up?
Like you and how you don't get hit with Fatal Blows, yet for some reason you still cry about them?
If anyone here is a "casual" it's probably the guy who is begging devs to intervene on his behalf because he lost a match to a Fatal Blow.

Also if you lose to Fatal Blow it means you dropped a round to the opponent without out it, it also means you took enough dmg that you were low enough a solid string would have polished you off, Fatal Blows are no different than if you failed to block a combo. You gotta learn to defend man.
Stop begging for FB nerfs because you don't have any skill in defending.

You are one mad little dude. I wanna know who the player was that beat you so bad you broke down this hard.

I don't see how they take any longer than X rays or Injustice Super moves.

I don't mind them but it would be cool if when you used it and it misses, the FATAL BLOW that is blacked out would slowly fill up with the yellow color until it's full. Its a QOL change but I think it would be easier to follow when it has recharged if we could see it coming back like we do with our regular meters.

You just have poor reading comprehension skills. If you revert to my first post in this thread, you actually fit the criteria of the typical MK fanboy. The catchphrases are on point.
If somebody came on here and had a legitimate complaint against Scorpion, you'd assume that that person is terrible against Scorpion. That's your problem; you jump to conclusions way too much. This is actually a defense mechanism of sorts in psychology, hence the femininity comment, but that's another topic.
The bottom line is, I'm willing to play against any of you on Xbox, so you can post the outcome on here afterwards. In fact I'm on right now. So if you're up for the challenge...I'm off from work tomorrow. I have hours to play.

Alright, I take back the insults, everyone, especially Amneoss. Sorry. Most of what I said was out of frustration. My main problem is with crushing blows. I mainly use Johnny Cage, and a lot of his stings whiff. So if you can guess, I'm constantly getting hit with uppercuts/crushing blows while advancing with F3.
I do think fatal blows are annoying, personally, but no, I don't think they should be removed. I just hate how some of them are long and take me out of the "zone" when my pressure game is on point. I do like how I'm able to cancel out of them. I just wish the stamina meter was there.
I just saw "fatal blows", and it sounded sort of like "Crushing Blows", so my anger sort of spilled over to thread.

Fatal Blows are detrimental to skilled play. It's a dumb mechanic that does nothing but rubber-band matches like the Blue Shell in Mario Kart.

It's an anti-climatic experience seeing them used and neutral play being halted.

Can anyone (incognito NRS employees included) elaborate on why it's needed?

I like what they did with Johnny by giving his Fatal Blow a second use by letting him cancel. They should have done something similar to every character in the game. Give some actual management to this resource. Jax gets unlimited heat for 10 seconds, Erron's Rifle is instantly reloaded, etc. And when you spazz out and use this armored, 30% life stealer, you lose access to that edge your character had

lol how is he losing the entire game if it's 1-1 and you're ~400 damage away from death and get caught???

I think there's more going on then the fatal blow here....
You'd be hard pressed to find a fighting game with no comeback mechanic. Street fighter, tekken, dragonball etc. Etc. Learn how to deal with it.

maybe they could have added two qcf to make it harder but this is mk. most players are casual and they would miss out on this mechanic if it wasn't easy.

They should just remove the coddling mechanic. Have people win on their own accord.

Comeback mechanics are whack no matter the game. They're an absolute contradiction to the reason fighting games became popular in the first place. These companies don't give a damn about the integrity of the genre. Their goal is to sell as many units as possible. They'll add "illusion of progress" mechanics without hesitation. They've already sold this game with all of it's content locked on their servers.

Your right to a degree. They have to balance hardcore vs accessibility. Either way someone is not going to be happy.

I like having some type of comeback mechanic because it helps maintain high stakes and tension throughout the whole match.

In the specific case of Fatal Blows, I think they're mostly fine, just need a few tweaks.

Use only logic, please
Sounds like some of you need to learn how to be more aware of your situation during the game and play accordingly.

Rule #1
Block

Rule #2
Punish

Rule #3
Win by outsmarting your opponent.

Fatal blows don't do any more damage than supers in any other fighting game. Reduce them to 18%? WTF? Why have the mechanic then? These moves are meant to even the odds if your opponent is not paying attention and gets opened up.

Sounds like it's time to stop mashing and start playing for real. Getting hit by a raw Fatal Blow should be the exception, not the rule.

Honestly, I totally agree.

Fatal blows are by far the dumbest thing in this game.

  1. The cinematics last way too long for something that is given away for free and something that happens every match. I'm already tired of seeing them.
  2. They are given to everyone for free and require no resource management whatsoever. They should require you to have meter to use (and potentially take a certain amount of meter to use as well).
  3. Safe on block, regens if you miss or it's blocked... that shit needs to go for sure.
