Are you guys going to have mk11 for xbox one?? And I'd love to be apart of this, do you have any details as of now??
I know we’ll be offering our services for PS4, and I believe Xbox will be available at launch, though I need to double check with King. If not at launch, we’ll definitely support Xbox at some point. I’m also hoping to be able to accommodate PC players as well eventually.

What details do you want to know?

Ok well I hope you can at launch. And about the esports dojo team. Being apart of it? Like requirements, etc.?

Hey King. I believe making a detailed training video that cost like $5-$10 on your patreon or elsewhere to supplement these sessions would be really beneficial. Meaning you would have your personal training sessions, but also a general training video that is the same for everyone. All you gotta do is a drop a link to where you can buy it on your streams and youtube. It would become a passive income. Meaning you put in the work into the video then reap the benefits anytime someone purchases it. And you don’t even have to promote it too hard long term, just push it for awhile then like I said, just link it whenever you put something out.

Hope this helps.

Is this still available? Is there a deadline? I didn't see anything like that on the patreon page unless I missed it. Game comes out in a few weeks, so I'm just curious. Thank you!

We're still working out the details of what all services we want to offer and how we want to compensate team members. But our system would essentially work like a US-based martial arts class, where the main instructor (Forever King) only handles the lessons they are required to handle. Everything else is left up to assistant instructors. Think Gracie Jiu Jitsu, but for fighting games (and eventually other genres).

Here are some of the ideas we've considered:
  • Human Training Dummy: This would be a low-level position. You essentially just do whatever the customer needs you to do, such as repeat a specific setup against them so they can learn to beat it. This would primarily cover things that are difficult to set up in practice mode.
  • Basic Training: Why pay a premium to train with a pro if you just need help with the basics, or how to do combos, or how to deal with zoning? You do 1-on-1 sessions covering very basic gameplay.
  • Advanced Training: This would be a step below training with Forever King. It gets into more advanced concepts like frame traps, tick throws, punishes, etc. This would also include character specialists who can teach someone how to play a specific character at a high level.
  • Match Footage Critiques: Customers can submit their match footage to be given detailed and specific feedback about ways to improve.
  • Playing Matches: Other than training, we also offer ft10s, 20s, etc with high level players, either casually or to practice specific matchups against character specialists.
Those are just some of the ideas we've considered. As far as becoming a member, I'm still working out the details. I believe I'm going to put together a short application you can fill out that includes your skill level, preferred characters, availability, etc.

Compensation can be structured as cash payments or free training (almost like a co-op, where you devote time training new customers and then you get 1-on-1 training with Forever King in return). We'd then hold an audition to make sure you're a good fit.

Is what still available? If you want to pre-order MK11 training time with King, you can sign up on King's Patreon page. Within the next day or two we'll be launching esports-dojo.com, where you can actually create an account with a profile to help manage your training, sessions, payments, etc. If you mean joining the team as a trainer, that will be available soon. We're still working out the details.

I just meant if I could sign up and be trained by FK still. That's all.

Hey all, I'm working on the prices and services for eSports Dojo and was hoping to crowdsource some feedback. I'm trying to work it out so that I can pay just about anyone $10 per hour to play fighting games, and pay top players $30 per hour ($60,000 at 40 hours per week, 50 weeks per year). This is just brainstorming, so please don't go to King's Patreon page and get angry the services listed are different than what I'm proposing here. I'm just gauging the validity of the idea.

So here's what I'm thinking:

Session Type
Length
Hourly Rate Paid to Coach
Total Cost of Payroll
Week 1 Basic Session
45 minutes
$10
$7.50
Week 1 Basic Session
45 minutes
$10
$7.50
Week 2 Basic Session
45 minutes
$10
$7.50
Week 2 PRO Session
1 hour
$30
$30.00
Week 3 Basic Session
45 minutes
$10
$7.50
Week 3 Basic Session
45 minutes
$10
$7.50
Week 4 Basic Session
45 minutes
$10
$7.50
Week 4 PRO Session
1 hour
$30
$30.00
Total payroll cost per month: $105.00

So, basically, you get two 45-minute training sessions per week to work on your fundamentals, combos, anti-airing, tech, setups, frame traps, matchups, etc, in a 1-on-1 environment with your regular coach. Every two weeks, one of your sessions is a 1-hour long set against your Pro Coach (with their mic in) to put everything you've learned to the test. After the set, the Pro will provide written detailed feedback (using a standardized feedback form to ensure you get quality feedback). Your next basic sessions will focus on any issues highlighted during your pro set to help you improve on those specific issues before your next pro set. This should result in steady, structured growth as a player.

You would also receive access to the eSports Dojo Discord, which all regular and pro coaches would be members of, along with assorted high-quality media and written training materials.

At a cost of $105, we would need to charge a minimum of $125 per month, with $10 going back into the business, leaving $10 profit per customer. We would probably still offer tiers, so you could do fewer sessions for a smaller monthly fee, or pay for 6-12 months upfront for a significant discount.

So my questions:
  1. Would you consider $125 per month a reasonable price for such services?
  2. As a player looking for revenue streams, would you consider $10 per hour a fair rate to go into online training with customers?
  3. Are there any addional services you can think of that you would like to receive for that $125-per-month cost?
Also, @STORMS, I'm loving the new Table system. This will make it really easy to list character move sets and frame data in character guides!

I would say $125 at a monthly charge is probably too expensive as a consumer for anyone that's not seriously training to compete for tournament. That's just me though. I know I wouldn't personally feel comfortable with paying that much.

So this essentially functions as a "package" then? I think the price is fine. If you lower it too much, you are devaluing the service and obviously it will be much harder to make money.

What I would do is make multiple packages, 3 minimum. One for 125, one for 50 (with less sessions obviously) and then one package for 200. The 200 package could be advertised as like the pro package, for the most serious players. The 50 dollar package could be pushed as like the "pub stomper" package, for those who dont want to compete but just want to be better for regular online games
