If it turns out to be Hydro then this will follow the same pattern back when Skarlet was tied up in Shao Kahn’s Collisium back in MK9 and then later became playable. I don’t think it’s Frost because of the whole joining Kronika theory. Plus making Frost a cyborg is a bad move.

My HONEST guess though is, I think this actually confirms that Tri-Borg has returned and is officially canon OR the better option. We will see Sektor and Cyrax back thanks to timeline stuff. The time line thing is important to note because they both died in the comics. Before anyone quotes me and says MKX comics aren’t canon. Well I got a tweet back from Shawn Kittelsen and he confirmed they are canon and that it will be very apparent in MK11 story. There’s a lot to speculate here now that we have an offical Tekunin stage and it gets a cut scene in story featuring Sub and Scorp. So much anticipation!

You think this is Triborg with Hydro variation? I remember Triborg's MKX ending was "The Lin Kuei was destroyed and disbanded because of what Sub did and The Tekunin Will Rise, a Cybernetic Ninja Clan of Robots?

I'll now quote the line, which I've read like a thousand times in the last few weeks (it's driving me nuts):

"NRS said they wouldn't sell the same character as DLC twice."
It's also been said that they'll never have a character who was previously main roster as DLC, but I've never seen a source and Shang Tsung just disproves that.

There are many characters that disprove that. I think NRS doesn't know what the fuck they mean and just go with the flow.

I think if NRS goes with the decision to bring back Tri-Borg and make him canon. Which would then leave Sektor and Cyrax dead, that Tri-Borg will refer to himself as the Tekunin leader. In story the Lin Keui has been saved and Sub-Zero is the Grandmaster. I see no reason for the robot clan to go by an entirely new name when they are still very similar to what Sektor was creating with the Tekunin.

To answer your question about Hydro....I wouldn’t be upset with Hydro’s inclusion since it follows the trend with Skarlet in MK9 and Tremor in MKX. Hydro could offer something very unique. BUT I think it’s going to take more than just having him use water powers to make him unique. Plus how much sense does it make to have a cyborg spray water out of him when he could be using other gadgets and abilities to get the job done?

Two games in a row that had story scenes specifically about the Tekunin, but no cyborgs in the main roster.
Keep it rollin’, NRS. You’re doing great, sweetie.
I mean, the point of the MKX "Tekunin scene" was to show that they are fucking dead. So it's a bit like complaining that a movie that showed dinosaur bones in a museum didn't have any dinosaurs running around in it.

I was mainly asking for lore input because I don't know much about it other than comic book take on it which I guess is canon according to Shaun K. The writer.

But I agree hydro just spraying water would be lackluster. Honestly I don't mind if Triborg is canon or not just that it's in the game. Even though I'd like Robots to have a strong role. With the story mode being so huge it's possible they get spotlight if they are in, but so could many characters because of the size of this story and the open possibility time travel brings to the table. With a stage based on Tekunin I think there is a real possibility Triborg or some robot will be in the story/game.

Regardless of who's in charge, that Tekunin stage is gorgeous. That's definitely going to be my training stage. I love how calm and sterile it is. Plus it isn't orange like 70% of the other stages
MK11 is giving me all sortsa shit I never knew I always wanted.

Black Dragon stages? Uhh, CHECK!

D'Vorah's lair? DOUBLE CHECK!

Tekunin labs? CHECK CHECK CHECK CHECK!

It's such a breath of fresh air after MKX gave us so many unimportant spots like random forest, empty Netherrealm bridge, jungle and the docks.

They looked nice, but they didn't matter. I love stages that give history to the games. Shang Tsung's Island in ruins, The Cyber Initiative happening live, Kotal Kahn's Koliseum merging with Shao's.

A robo-Frost does make the most sense as the New Tekunin ringleader, but JFC that just means she's going to rip off Cyber Sub-Zero as a concept as well. She can't help being a shameless copycat, huh?

Wait a cot damn minute. D’Vorah has a lost level in MK11? When the fuuuuh did this take place? Do tell....
Rewatch the part of the story trailer with Kronika speaking to Shao Kahn and look at the background.

There wouldn’t be a cyber Lin Kuei stage without sektor and Cyrax. That would be kind of weird.
Shang Tsung's island is a stage and Shang Tsung is confirmed DLC.

Goro's Lair is a stage and Goro is almost certainly deconfirmed DLC.

Weird or not, they're gonna do it.
