I think it could be Cyber Sub-Zero from the past, but at the same time there's a cutscene of current-time Sub-Zero and Scorpion taking down some generic Lin Kuei cyborgs around a similar location, so I don't know...

I hope he's DLC. There's a lack of cyborgs in the game, plus in MK9 they did Skarlet and in MKX they did Tremor, so maybe he can be this game's equivalent.

I don't think Tri-Borg is canon, plus his base color is gray, not blue.

EDIT: Plus he can't be DLC again.

There's no reason to assume Triborg is non-canon, but that definitely isn't him.

Hydro~ isn't a bad guess. It'd be in keeping with Skarlet and Tremor as obscure pulls. (And it'd explain Rain not making the cut, if they give him water powers.)

When you think about it there are actually a lot in his favor to make it as dlc. So faf everyone who's a background character is playable, he fits in the skarlet and tremor role, and there are no other cyber ninjas in the game so i think he has a good shot.

When I first saw the Tekunin stage, I was soooo amped to think that maybe Triborg or Sektor would be in the game, but then somebody pointed out that it's probably Frost's stage since she's allegedly part Cyborg now

Honestly I'd be all for Hydro, give me something new. It's not like the Cyborgs are adding a ton of personality to the roster, I don't need K&M in every game.

It would be a cool way to do the Chameleon/Triborg concept, but just make it a super customizable Cyborg rather than having washed down versions of Sektor, Cyrax, etc.

I bet Frost somehow takes control of the Lin Kuei (probably with Kronika's help) reinstates the cyber initiative starting with herself. Sub teams up with Scorpion to take her down. Personally I think the cyborg in the background is just a generic or maybe perhaps a nod to Hydro. But unlikely he will be dlc.

Yeah -- Sub-Zero embarrassed Frost in MKX and we know from the original timeline that she's a scheming traitor. The leaked images of her look partially cybernetic. It's a good theory.
