I think he looks as he should, it's great. I also really like the undercut, and I'm guessing so does @Vslayer. The voice is quite weak though, I don't like it at all.
You know me so well :p

I actually think his voice is pretty good but it does sound a bit too young? I'm not sure yet.

So what do you all think of his unburnt human form? I think it's fine, but I prefer his masked version better.

Is this for real? He looks way too young. Like a teenage Dwayne Johnson if he lived in Final Fantasy. Don’t get me wrong though; I like most of his movies but dear God, who’s in charge of character design this time around? Very perplexing direction they’re going in.

*edit* oh I get that they’re doing the timeline thing before he was burnt, but still. Unflattering mugs for pretty much everyone that’s been revealed so far. It’s like they did a mad dash past “realism” and wound up in some twisted version of it.

I think his fatality is actually a perfect metaphor for how they’re treating the “progression” of character design here. At least above the neckline.

Yikes. I don't like it at all. So much weird shit going on in that design at the same time. (Which I guess is par for the course for Kabal)

This... kind of explains why Kabal looks so un-Revenantified compared to other Revenants, and why I was originally convinced we hadn't actually seen his Revenant outfit yet. His regular outfit looks much better, and NRS probably figured it looks twisted enough already to pass for a Revenant suit. If this concept art is actually the best they came up with, I'm legitimately glad they stuck with something much closer to his original design.

Was looking back at Kabal's kombat kast today because I was wondering why everyone seemingly forgot about him lol.

Now that I think I know the game a little better, he seems like he's going to be very good.

I think it's funny how with every new character comes the hype train that runs over the previously announced character. Johnny, Cassie, Kano, and Jade are the fresh new faces in town lol.

Hopefully there will be a good number of Kabal mains still because he seems really incredible tbh.

I think not a whole lot of people are talking about Kabal right now because we haven't seen any gameplay of him past his Kast. Everyone else has more gameplay available and/or are more recent

So, he appears to be the new Kitana, with instant air straight glaive into dash, and ex glaive into dash full combo from a projectile full screen.

I will probably play him and Skarlet for the beta, so I wonder if in case the dash cancel ends up being shitty we will be able to equip both straight air saw and the diagonal one) and low saw on top of that?!)

Let's share some Kabal tech & kombos guys :)
F22 and F224 seem to be his main strings here, at least I've been using them a lot. His AA Hook Grab is really good for kombos too.
Here's a sick Krushing Blow kombo I got with my loadout... BF4 KB, F22xxDB2 EX, F22xxNomad Dash, F2xxBF4 EX -- 42% damage.

Is it just me or does his instant air straight projectile have even more recovery than his standing one? Seems like a waste of a slot considering how good his default projectile is. Also, DB3 is reeaaaaalllly good. Plus 6 is no joke in a game with little to no armor moves or invincible backdashes, not to mention the absurd pushback on block. NDC is pretty damn useful too, even if it doesn't give a ton of adv on block most people tend to treat it like it does and it makes hit confirming into ND a lot easier.

I'm having trouble finding a more damaging 2 bar combo (not that 2 bar combos seem like a good idea in this game). Pretty sure the more traditional spin 23DB2MB F22ENDER does like 260ish, do you guys have a better 1 bar Bnb? Also, has anyone found a decent combo off the enhanced low spin special (the one that launches)?

23 is his most damaging string.
23 db2mb 23 dash 4 db3 is like 37%

Also some random thoughts day0 (and keep in mind i'm useless at the game):

Restand move:

Restand grab does a shitttton of damage at the end of the combo, doesn't seem like it cares about scaling. Does way more than db4 as an ender.

With restand, F4 db3 is the best ender even if slightly less damage than 4 db3 or other strings.
F4 db3 will always, at any range, leave him literally point blank at all times after the restand.

I can hardly see a loadout without this move, it's godlike.

Anti air grab:

Best pick out of the two extenders. The other one is useless since there's no mixup as the first two hits are mid and it's shittonunsafe. I would never pick that one, always get anti air grab as the extender as it hits after his most damaging string, 23.

Low hook:

If you're willing to risk a -17 to have 50-50s after your restands, this is pretty much guaranteed. There is no escape, they just have to take f4 hook or f4 overhead. You can do F224 and f22 low for an unreactableish one, but you have to be frame perfect with your f2 otherwise you get poked out.

NDC:

Ugh.. ok so..you get one or two more reps in the block string. If you don't have low hook you just have to mix with throws.
For now, day 0, it seems not worth the trouble as it takes up your defensive meter which is like air. One rep and you lose a wakeup and your breaker. Not really a fan, and it doesn't seem to be that much of a payoff to just get a grab attempt or a -17 low.

Surely someone capable can find actual setups worth it, I haven't found any and it doesn't even extend the combos. Bleah

Low saw/ straight air saw:

Godlike for walkbackers and jade jumpbackers. If you want to cheese I would go with both of them.
Straight air saw links and amplify combos after a jumpin kick with dash, if you're into that sort of thing.

Gas blast:

I think I have found finally a move more useless than cage glasses toss.

Gas air jump:

Godlike if you mained beetle in inj2. Since there are no crossups you will get d1'ed out of it unless you just use it to gain space with his godlike j2 or space it really well.
Probably useless against kung lao spin and other horrendously broken anti airs. Not my style of play so haven't given it much try.

I was getting 26% off of a 1 bar.

B12 xx Nomad(BF3), walk forward slightly, F22 xx BF1xxMB, F4 xx DB4

26% ish I need to restart the game. I go out for a smoke and get a glitch then I'm having to reset my loadouts (ughhh)

I really wish that they included a practice mode in the Beta it's brutal restarting the tower match every few combos trying to find optimal damage and what reaches.

Well, it was trial by fire but:

b12d2 KB

b12d2 always triggers on Kounter and Punish. If any of these messages pop up on your b1 you will get the krushing blow.

Hard link afterwards with 23 dash and f22 dash. Easiest one is standing 1 dash without moving at all.

db4 KB

Always triggers on punish, reversal and kounter, buttttt it has to be the first hit. I never got it triggered after punishing with a string. So you will get it guaranteed on scorp teleport or other unsafe moves higher than -16, but otherwise you have to risk a full combo punish in footsies to hope for a kounter hit with it.

Awesome thing is, amplify is considered a separate move and will also KB even if you previously KBed with the normal version. Seems like a bug I wouldn't get my hopes up to use it, it will probably get fixed.

D2 KB:

Same old same old. Easiest link is f22 dash for full combo

Amplified Glaive KB:

Haven't tried it, AI did it to me and some guys online, seems to trigger on a punish after a string? Have no ideea, but the damage it gives doesn't seem to make it worth.

Low Hook KB:

Will trigger if the opponent is blocking high. He has to be blocking, if he was mashing it won't trigger. Only does a shitload of damage, no followups. Sends him fullscreen.

F224KB:

Triggers on kounterhit (and probably punish, haven't tested it as f2 is 12 and I always punish with 23 for max damage in these situations).
No followups, just big damage. Uh.
