i'm not quiiiiiite sold on the mask - i always really liked that ugly, angular chunkiness to his old ones and seeing a sleek full-face design feels a bit like fan art - but i'm sure i'll get used to it and i'm loving the way he looks, just tossin and catchin people w/ hookswords and using superspeed for things besides nomad dash is exactly what i wanted in terms of design and that fatality is real good stuff.

You guys are putting a crazy amount of stock into non canon intro dialogues and possibly non canon "default" outfits. Remember MKX with Liu Kitana and Kung Lao's default skins? They were what-ifs only. And all the dialogues they had were based on the non-canon scenario that they were alive.

I don't trust these skins or dialogue one second. It's 100% possible that Kabal is a revenant jobber in story mode, and nothing more.

I really like how much more emphasis there is on him using his hookswords for footsies and what not. That D4(?) is clever. @DownfouralitY might literally live up to his name now

That 'cancel' looked a bit unclear on what it was meant to be for though. Is it just a feint rather than a pressure cancel per se?

Glad the traditional gas blasts are gone too. Not even just for balance purposes (cause he does still have projectiles with the saw blades to some varying degrees), it was always just really cringe to see him shooting purple plasma from a respirator.

But yeah, so far, so good.

So what do you all think of his unburnt human form? I think it's fine, but I prefer his masked version better.

I like it, it's kind of hard to get a feel for a character when you can't see their face. I'm glad they gave us the option, he could pass as a native American man.

Unmasked Kabal is amazing!!! He looks latino too! Good for the representation.

Man I love the way he plays! Wish they showed Kano or another character since this is the first Kast but eh. It is what it is.

So far, kinda mixed on a few things. Super happy he's back, he is my favorite character, but theres a few things that bother me.

I wish they had focused on his rushdown more than making him a sort of midrange zoner hybrid, maybe that wont be the case in all of his variations. Not a huge fan of him throwing the saws now and the lack of gas blasts, I figured they would keep it in some capacity, just not like how it was in 9. The literal "gas" blast doesnt look that good to me, but I like the float jump thing. Super cool.

His design is decent, i'm glad it retains his color scheme, but his hair looks hella wack to me. The mask wouldnt bother me as much if he had his long flowing hair or pigtails. Maybe that'll be an option with the Deception mask, and if it is, i'm completely fine with the design overall. Wasn't a huge fan of the alt designs shown, especially the maskless one, but he's gonna have a lot more stuff anyway. I like that regular skin/burnt skin/revenant are options.

His hooksword play looks AMAZING. His speed looks great, he's flashy, doing all sorts of cool shit, he looks outstanding. I'm super happy with how they did him in this regard and i'm hella pumped to play him. Last thing, i'm REALLY surprised NDC is in in some capacity, but i'd like it if they added in that cancel animation from 9. He doesn't even move now when he does it. Super minor complaint.

I agree. I miss the old projectiles, but since these function the same, it's not the end of the world. I think they're doing some story tie in with that. He definitely has some rushdown potential from what I can see and I don't think they showed in all his glory.

As for his design, I agree. I hate the hair, but the unmasked version looks dope as fuck. I like the hair. I hope they have all of the old designs. Would love all the classic designs to make it in some capacity.

This is the daddy skin for sure. I can't wait to get home and watch game play, I'm already in love. People saying he is very spacing heavy is super exciting!

I think he looks good, but i’ll Probably still slap a mask on him if possible.

That costume though is the best one of the three shown IMO.

Never liked him; never understood the (albeit, niche) appeal of the horrorhead; nothing changed my mind from his M11K reveal.

At first I wasn't sold on the new mask and hair but after rewatching and looking at the render I think he looks pretty sick. I do not care for man-bun Kabal though. Yall can keep that.

I just know he is going to have loads of kool masks to pick from, hopefully we will be able to make him look like his MK self a little bit too. I love that look. I also really like the new Buzzsaw. Like 16bit said that was one of those specials that never made a ton of sense to me so now that it is some sort of gadget he throws/rolls makes a little more sense. No gas blast was kind of a bummer at first but looks like his new buzzsaw can do essentially the same thing so no problem from me.

Also loving the focus on him actually using his hookswords in this game. I always thought they were underutilized a bit considering they are his signature weapons.

TLDR: Looks great, I can't wait to play him!

love the masked version & that he seems idk bulkier...unmasked version looks like he would be the kombat kids misunderstood bully from a weird after-school special.

I noticed that his first gear piece is actually the mask, so yeah you probably are going to be able to give his unburnt self a mask. They probably left him without it to show off his face.
On the other way around, you're probably gonna be able to play with his burnt skins without the mask on so that'll be nice.

But damn does his new design look awesome and making him use his swords more helps make his gameplay look more fun.

I think he looks as he should, it's great. I also really like the undercut, and I'm guessing so does @Vslayer. The voice is quite weak though, I don't like it at all.
