Shang is just as likely as Noob/Rain imo. We don't have a picture of himself, but souls on one menu icon, a stage named after him and several others that are located on his island. Would kinda make sense for him to be there as well

It would, wouldn't it? His nethership seems to be a stage too.

Can't shake this bad feeling off though, and leaks on top of leaks without him aren't helping either. I'm scared he might end up like MKX's Rain.

Same can be said about Rain.

Problem is, Rain is at the same time soft confirmed and soft deconfirmed (tower NPC assist instead of Playable summon assist), so a Schrodinger situation.

He could be in though and Shang Tsung could be an extra secret square like happened in klassic games so there might be room for more.

I also think he will be in one way or the other.
My personal guess would be Rain and Shang in base and Noob as first DLC, though. Somehow the position Noob is in right now reminds me of Red Hood for Inj2, who was one of the most requested and ended up as anchor for the first pack. And they kinda have the same edgy vibe

Maybe so, but I don't like how DLC characters are handled all that much. I hope he's main roster, maybe unlockable or something.

I'm still a bit iffy about the absence of Fujin, Rain, Mileena and Tanya. Since DLC characters have been handled very poorly, it's a shame if they're held behind a paywall.

Rain and Tanya won’t be DLC since they’ve already been DLC.

I doubt Mileena will be DLC since she was a main character in the previous game.

Fujin can be dlc or main. Either is ok with him.

When it comes to Rain Mileena and Tanya, either they’re main roster or not in the game.

I feel like 3 would be enough. If we are getting 25 characters in the main roster. MKX had more newcomers, so there shouldn't be more than 3 here. I wish someone from NRS confirms is Kronika playable already.
