It's all so very confusing.
Did Urien's reflector damage get nerfed in AE? I'm running through some of the Aegis stuff @FL Rushdown gave me months ago in a video, and I'm not seeing the same numbers.

Have basic reflector setups changed since AE?

All VT combos got nerfed dmg wise in AE. For the most part all the setups still work but some got harder. The f mp into crossunder ones are trickier now.

Yeah I was messing with the crossunder stuff earlier and it was harder than I remembered it being. I'll have to poke around and watch some footage and see what you crazy kids favor using these days with your fancy reflectors and elbows and such.

Any particular Urien players I can hunt down footage of on YouTube? Other than Rb. I know him. I looked for footage from you Rushdown, but didn't see much that wasn't from pre-AE.

I appreciate the help. I know Ive wasted your time in the past, and Im sorry about that. Urien has long been one of my favorite characters in the game, Im just so damn bad at what makes him so interesting that Ive traditionally never been able to get comfortable with him.. if I can get back into the SFV groove though, I think it'll be with Urien. I like a couple other characters, but Urien is likely my best chance to STAY interested.. I'll be playing him with Aegis, and just try not to get ahead of myself. No reason I need to know some of the insane setups and crazy resets and all that shit when my neutral and basioc grasp of the gameplay itself is liquid garbage. I just need to stick to basic ass BnBs across the board and if, by some chance I stick around and feel like Im improving, I can always start adding that shit on.

If the timestamp doesnt work, start @ about 3:29. Wtf happned? How did Abigail through Urien THROUGH the mirror like that>? Is mirror a projectile and that throw immune?

Nemo, dogura, tommyx2step, pianodensetsu, norespect, slavicgold, yanoob, orphancrippler. Those are a few uriens.

Yes you can get thrown through the mirror. It’s weird but it happens with everyone.

@EntropicByDesign there’s a bunch of Urien dirt compilations on YouTube that feature all those dudes and bumdown here too, so look for those as well.



Now, my question for all you wonderful SFV enthusiasts is: is Vega really that trash? I mean I can kinda see it but it’s just hard to believe with Tourniquet out there mopping everyone still.

Welp, just played some sets as Urien vs a small handful of people in a lobby.

A- Going from pad to stick is hard and weird and I am bad.
B- I am bad.
C- I started to adjust and settle down towards the end and almost started to look like I knew how to play the game.
D- Urien is a lot of fun.
E- I need to figure out my damn spacing.

Seems like it's just a case of getting back into the game a bit more and practice. And yea for a lot of people going from one tool (pad,stick,etc.) is hard at the beginning.

Yeah, I did functionally well I guess, but - and I don't mean to sound like a dick - they should have been pretty easy wins, but my utter failure at putting two hits together was making for a lot of close rounds. I tried to AA with cr.hk probably half a dozen times, meaning to hit HP of course lol
