No for honor has been losing its player base like crazy. You don't have to look far at all just look at tym for proof.@Basic Stupidity
@MisguidedAngel
It seems to be working fine so far. I'm still all in and there are enough others to keep things going for a while.
Part of the skill gap is created through knowledge and planning, but part of it exists through reactions.
Have we have become so conditioned to building our perfect plans that we scoff at games that don't allow them to become the do all end all with enough practice? I love these games too, but I am happy to have something new. To me, its exciting. Think whatever you like, but I think your closed mindedness is forcing you to miss out.
I'll pre-empt - Missing out on what?
Something new that could be a great gaming experience.
These "flaws" are positives to me. Your sentiments aren't shared by everyone. Opinions aren't facts just because you agree. I agree with the game's direction, but I am OK that you are not. My posts aren't arguments intended to sway you. They are just my opinions. No for honor has been losing its player base like crazy. You don't have to look far at all just look at tym for proof.
So you're saying a skill gap of knowing to dodge glowing moves is a skill gap worthy of competitive play?
"Have we have become so conditioned to building our perfect plans that we scoff at games that don't allow them to become the do all end all with enough practice?"
Apparently.
"To me, its exciting."
How can you be so narrow minded? You seriously think that everyone that plays this game have the same reactions as you and so they have a blast randomly reacting to moves that others can react to all the time. How can you accuse me of closemindedness when you refuse to except the fact that players have varying reaction speeds.
"I'll pre-empt - Missing out on what?"
Almost, I'm missing out because if something out of my control, being able to consistently react and not being so delusional to realize that there are others like me, and missing out on what?
New\=\better
You still refuse to address the blaring flaws in your idealistic 'new experience'
No raider sucks you have no idea what you are talking about. You can't judge how good a character is based off of how some noobs on 4s win/lose to them. Take him to duels and then tell me if he's goodSo, my Raider is at Level 20. Before I prestige, I figured I would critique my stats a bit. I'm not very good with Raider - so I'm not proclaiming dominance ir anything like that. I'm just offering levity for these tips that helped me.
I practiced with Raider until I had his unlocks down. It only took a few minutes. Then, I played 2 bot Dominions. Then, I only played against people after that - mostly in Dominion, but I played a few other modes here and there.
My win percentage in Dominion with Raider is 85% with a K/D of 6.5. My win percentages and K/D in other modes are about the same. This is with all grey gear.
Other than abusing the crap out of the unlock, here is some if the things I do.
When I get Revenge, I don't pop it until I exhaust my stamina first, need the counter to stay alive, or are about to lose it. The threat of the Revenge Pop is a big part of it, but why not use up what you have first? Its common sense, but very few players utilize revenge in this manner.
I know the basics and the controls feel natural so I'm not terrible, but this does emphasize a few things. Players are impatient. Gear isn't as important as everyone says. The unlock glitch is very OP making Raider not suck at all. Lastly, playing smart is just as important as being good.
I don't care about duels. They're boring. No raider sucks you have no idea what you are talking about. You can't judge how good a character is based off of how some noobs on 4s win/lose to them. Take him to duels and then tell me if he's good
Yes, and do you know why? It's because of solely having reactable moves.I don't care about duels. They're boring.
Duels define actual skill not 4v4sI don't care about duels. They're boring.
Says the guy who won't play 4v4's.Yes, and do you know why? It's because of solely having reactable moves.
Duels is the best way to isolate and eliminate random and look at the core gameplay of the game, characters and other players.
Saying something is good or bad based on 4s is just like going to test your luck on mkx and determining balance based on how well you do.
Don't care about that. I play for fun.Duels define actual skill not 4v4s
Its not fair to judge the viability of a character where most of the players are potatoes and only get kills because they have 1337 gear. Raider IS trash. Klling shit kids on Dominian doesn't make him good.Don't care about that. I play for fun.
That was my plan when I bought the game on release but I dropped it a couple weeks later lol....anyone else totally dropping this game come May 16th??
"Says the guy who won't play 4v4's"Says the guy who won't play 4v4's.
There are lots of 1v1 fighting games. Very few are 4v4.
Win or lose, I play for fun. Dueling = not fun.
When I was young, I felt like I had stuff to prove - so I get it. Everyone feels the need to legitimize their time spent, but good times legitimize the time."Says the guy who won't play 4v4's"
This is a two way street, why even bother say this? Everyone knows that duels is the least random game mode and so it is the most competitive.
Congrats bro, if that's the case then go play puzzle and Mario games and stay away from competitive games. When I was young, I felt like I had stuff to prove - so I get it. Everyone feels the need to legitimize their time spent, but good times legitimize the time.
There are skills learned in 4v4's that aren't classic fighting game skills, but that isn't why I play the mode - or the game.
Fun and teamwork are meaningful concepts to me in gaming. My ego isn't connected to my successes or failures in gaming.
...or I can just continue to play the games I like.Congrats bro, if that's the case then go play puzzle and Mario games and stay away from competitive games.
I've always thought of this as well but some people in general just have fun at taking games competitivelyThere is the a fine line in fighting games between having fun and being competitive. If your just playing for fun your a scrub. If your just playing for competition then your taking it way too serious. In my opinion playing for fun while being really competitive is a good balance to have in fighting games makes the experience more enjoyable
