Yea I'm the same way in execution, it's hard for me to execute longer more complex timed combos etc. I agree both cammy and Karin are pressure, throw, footsie characters. Very strong. I tried ibuki for like a week lol but she seems very execution heavy, heaviest in the game? Probably. Unless I'm missing someone.
Eh. I'd put guile, and Urien(maybe chun)up there with her for combo execution, and I still think akuma wins an execution battle just because of his input tricks.

It's all so very confusing.
Chun is the hardest character for me in the game. Guile's loops are difficult but, at least as far as I know they are all he has that's hard. Akuma is pretty difficult when you start bringing Demons into the mix. Of course, difficulty in SFV is relative. In terms of static execution (training mode) I haven't really found anything I cant do with some basic practice, I just dont have the patience to get it down enough to use in matches, or commit *all* of the variations to memory - which is the case with Urien. I can see and repeat his sequences easily enough in training mode.

In USFIV I struggled with execution. It was my first FG and I had no idea wtf I was doing. the first 6 months or so I played that game I was held back immensely by my execution, even though I was practicing my ass off.. Then I picked up KOFXIII on Steam kind of randomly, after hearing it had crazy-hard execution, as a means of general practice.. KOF kind of redefined what I considered hard and I was able to improve a lot by practicing some of the batshit KOF stuff.

Corner Saiki combo as an example (obviously they arent all this silly, but quite a few are)

st.C xx qcb+D (hold D), j.4B, dp+B [DC] qcf+C, qcb+D (hold D), j.4B, qcf+A, dp+BD/qcfqcf+K

I agree with @EntropicByDesign about guile. His vtrigger boom loops are pretty hard but his gameplay isn't, but I might be wrong as I really don't play at a high leve. I mean yea you have to know his stuff but so do you have to every other character. Yea akuma is up there, I guess I'm so scrubby I forgot about his demon setups lol.

Can I punish a move that's -5 on block with a 5 frame move? Wouldn't that be neutral? Not to mention by the time I react that would take me a couple frames to press the button? I mean a lot of things come into play am I rite?

A 3 frame move hits ON frame 3, the first active frame and the last startup frame of a move are the same thing. It's why when calculating frame kills you have to subtract 1 frame after you add startup/active/recovery together. So yes a move that's -3 is punishable by a move that has 3 frames of startup. It's odd but it's just how frame data is written.

Ah ok, so a 3 frame move hits on the third frame, ok that makes it clear now. And the third frame is already active. But not all moves that are punishable on block actually punishable right? Like for example akumas regular fireballs are -6 on block, but you'd have to be point blank to punish it. Not to mention the pushback on some moves correct?

Yeah Akumas fireball is only -6 if it hits on the first possible frame it can hit, every single frame after that it gets safer by 1 frame. So you can punish it but if akuma does like cr mp, cr mp xx fireball on block he's gonna be far enough away that you aren't gonna punish.

Ok, real question for you. Since you play both I gotta ask, who is funner to play, akuma or Urien?

@FL Rushdown are there any input shortcuts for a sweep canceled into demon or do you just have to do a sweep and then bang out the whole demon input as fast as you can? And I know this thread is littered with demon shit already but trying to find it all is a bitch so do you have any recommendations for some of his easier to do setups/their input tricks?

Only shortcut you can take there is To do something like lp + cr hk, lp, fwd, lk, hp. If it's easier for you you could also just do lp + cr hp x2 at the start.

What's the shortcut with the demon about using the vskill then medium kick? I read this a while ago so don't know if that's the way you do it. Something about using the button that has all 3 punch buttons together?

It's not really a shortcut you're just using it to move forward while demoning. If you do it from too far they can jump after the demon starts but if you cancel out of v skill kick it moves you forward so they can't.

I think he meant the input shortcut for canceling all that into a demon quicker, which is what I was mostly looking for too (so thanks for the vids; they were helpful). In this case, appears to be:

3P+mk
3P+mk
f+lk
hp

The first two inputs should get you the v skill parry followed by the kick, but also buffer the first two lp's of the demon so you only need the f+lk and hp after, if I understand correctly. Hope that helps, @ILuvFightGames !
