Actually she is not an amazon. She's a British archaeologist that under nefarious circumstances became the avatar of an African Cheetah God. In most telling of the story she does it willingly to gain power.

I remember reading that issue and thinking "man they are over embeleshing Cheetahs speed and stength to make her seem relevant".

No way she's fast enough to clip the flash or strong enough to bite through Superman's skin. DC is just trying to establish WoWo villains because she's severely lacking compared to Batman, Superman and the rest of the JL except Cyborg. She's a B tier villain they're trying to make A tier....but I respect it, WoWo has a movie coming out and their trying to establish a property. I just wish they were a little more subtle about it.

She got a speed up from Zoom & her powers are magic so Supes has no extra protection against her from his powers.

Man it's like whoever designed Cheetah in IGAU2 was afraid of being a furry & designed well that.

I didn't hate Cheetah, but I think she might look better appearing more feral/wicked like in these shots. Something about the Cheetah face but with normal, human teeth doesn't mesh as well. Give her some fangs, make her darker, her eyes more glowing, I think it'd look better.

Well, there's a pretty good chance the leaked list is legit. Black Canary, Cheetah, and Swamp Thing are pretty good guesses otherwise. If the leaked list was made up and it is just by coincidence that these three are in the roster, I want the guy who invented the leaked list to buy lotto tickets for me.

But in all seriousness, Batman villains are only popular because Batman is overexposed! He gets all the movies, video games, comics, cartoons, tv shows...etc whereas everyone else gets practically nothing! Thankfully all that overexposure is starting to backfire and more and more fans are calling DC/WB out on their stupidity!

Well Cheetah has access to the speed force since Zoom taught her how to use it plus she is a goddess so to speak so I don't think her going toe to toe with Superman and Flash is out of the ordinary! She fights Wonder Woman on the daily as well! Also the male Cheetah (Sebastian) knocked Superman out (if memory serves me right). I'd say Cheetah is a very underrated character!

This is true. However the problem with that is if they expose the same characters over and over again, they'll be stuck having to use the same faces and none of their lesser faces can go anywhere. By pushing the Batman characters more, they sacrifice a chance for other characters to gain recognition.

Compare that to Marvel, who went out of their way to make names like Iron Man, Thor, etc popular among non comic readers. As well as Guardians who were complete unknowns to the average joe before their movie. Marvel still gives Spider-man and X-men plenty of spotlight(though to be fair, Spider-man is Sony and X-men is Fox, as far as movies go, but I digress), but they're pushing the Avengers characters way more heavily than DC has ever pushed Wonder Woman or Flash.

Albeit, Green Lantern probably would have been as popular as Batman or even Superman if the general consensus of the 2011 movie was that it wasn't a disappointment.

I actually do like Cheetah, she's the 2nd best Wonder Woman villain and between her and Catwoman, I'd've picked her. But compared to the two missing members of Black Manta and Lex, I'd pick both.
