Normalize grab immunity.
I like him. He's fun to play and well designed, but if I'm being honest I enjoy winning with a fun character more than losing with one so it's Urien for now. They're both really fun though, I enjoy that they've got a more technical side than most characters in V. I'll still play akuma for fun though, he's just not what I wanna get better at right now. After the balance patch that may change though.
What do you think about taking away cancelling first hit of ex tackle into aegis?
Make tackle either slower or slightly negative?
 
Also if Urien uses ex tackle from close gief can mash v skill and absorb the second hit to straight up punish. If Urien does the tackle far enough that there's no gap you can still mash and nothing bad will happen. @JJvercetti

Ex tackle into second aegis is actually unsafe already. Also a lot of people don't know that ex tackle from close has a punishable gap.
See, I've been going off of top player footage I've seen. I've noticed a lot of matches were Urien uses that. Wish I could lab the DLC. How punishable is the gap from close? How close is close? right next to me? A dash away?

Do you know how to read the active frames for that move? In the FAT app it says "9(9)5".

9 active 9 gap 5 active. Close is pretty damn close. First hit has to land on first 2 active frames I believe.

Kolin movelist. Motion character, one move has a Honda hands input option. Certain dash follow-ups are locked to certain strengths of the dash. Probably has an overhead normal. I think the projectile strengths determine starting height and they're at a fixed horizontal distance.

Fuck the concept of a main. I just cant do it. I stress and stress over it and makes things unfun for me. I'm gonna just try to stick to small group of characters I find fun. Im not trying to win Evo and I dont even play ranked really, so its not like I need to focus to get them points. I find Urien, Balrog Rashid and Laura fun and I feel like I can actually play them. I love Ibuki (still fav character) and Juri, but Juri I just dont enjoy playing that much, and Ibuki I literally cant.

So, fuck it. I main whoever is interesting.

Urien's cr.mp or cr.hp seems like a reliable AA, don't know why some people say his AA game is bad.
I feel like people say that because he doesn't have a braindead AA you can mindlessly mash and have it always work. I mean, sure, if you're in the right spot with the right advantage and all that you can jump in on him, but that's true of almost any character in the game outside a couple (looking at you Gief).. and Urien makes up for having situational AAs by generally getting a lot OUT of an AA. He can also power-fill his vskill bar if he gets a trigger up and uses a headbutt or something to AA/Absorb a jump in.. I know its situational and such, but its a thing that he can do.

Urien doesnt have bad AA's he just doesnt have mindless AAs.

Why would you jump in against gief?

This game does realize that 5 bars means the connection is supposed to be good right? Just wonderin.
Capcom's version of rollback netcode is garbage.

Well, at some point you have to actually attack Gief, otherwise he walks you to the corner and then one-touches you into his.. I wont call it a vortex but its close.. and you die.. Some characters have almost no way to approach him. I'm not saying jumping is a great idea or some magic solution, but getting past his long, high damaging and amazing-in-general normals is a huge hurdle for a lot of characters. Sure, you can try to read him coming to you and punish him, but if he gets the lead, Gief doesnt have to do that any more and you're faced with having to get through his normals, vskill, vtrigger (possibly) command grabs, armor and everything else to get damage. This makes jumping an attractive prospect IN THEORY. But obviously, due to Giefs complete and utter air control it doesn't matter how you time it, or space it, if your feet leave the ground its Gief's world with damage ranging from minimal to completely insane.

I wasnt insulting Gief or anything, i was just putting him in the 'no thought just mash' AA catagory. He doesnt have to worry about timing or spacing or anything. He can mash jab and AA you if you're already behind him and shoulder height, and of course lariat just wrecks.

They claim they are going to upgrade/fix/something to the network this spring. Lets hope, because they have screwed the pooch with this shit. I am TRYING to play ranked on occasion and in addition to the ultra slow matchmaking and idiocy in general, im lucky to get 1 good game in 3 in terms of connection and I know damn well its not on my end. I'm hardwired, no virus or software firewalls or downloads or anyone else on my network, and where most people are on a 10-50mb connection, mine is 300mbs, but actually runs closer to 350-375.
