I disagree, SF 5 is a game that rewards both defensive play and offensive play. You can play either and your skill will determine who wins, as opposed to something like mkx, where it's really tailored to offensive players. Don't want to make comparisons but just as an example sonicfox uses fang real offensively in this game while xian uses a more defensive fang, and xian has placed much much much better with his style of play.

It can reward defensive play but it's a lot more difficult and unless that defense turns into offense it isn't effective because a lot of characters only need to hit you once

I think Xian places higher because he is more practiced with the character and plays both aspects very well. F.A.N.G staying away and poking isn't a win condition and neither is F.A.N.G going in on characters when they can V-reversal punish his multi-hitting normals into their own mix-ups.

im down to play, just know that when I beat you I'm going to make a theatrical movie that'll open in select theaters on September 14th, and that I'll advertise it on national tv. Might throw a parade too if the Kickstarter goes through.
