General/Other - Takeda Takeda General Discussion Thread

Besides the kunai gaps, are there any other things to know for the Takeda match up?
You should play at a range to make him whiff one of his strings that use whips and then run in or tele for a full combo punish, then you wanna stay in his face and corner him with heavy pressure. NJP/K beats/avoids all his armored wakeup options or you can just break his armor with your best meaty armor breaking string. Tele cancels are always negative. Anything into ex kunai has a gap. Jump out of ex kunai setups. But don't jump alot hisbwhip strings cover alot of space including the air

There's been lots of talk about SR's HTB but people like St9rm and Raptor almost never use them in tournament. Why is that? I know I've had people who know about it just jump out of it and go for an air to air rather than deal with it. So is it as strong as people say or do people not know how to work around it?

I'm not sure why but I usually use it when I need to close out a round or if I really just can't open someone up

The only thing I can think of is that it's used after conditioning someone to block a certain way or to respect his ex kunai's or other options. At high level play it's only ever seen working once or twice. Hell most of time it doesn't work and the read on how they'll escape is what gets the damage.

From my point of view (and testing results) opponents always have options to either block it successfully or try screw up Takeda's conversion, but that's hard read. In order to deal with that Takeda has to either make his setup easier to block or be greedy and make it very hard to block but allowing more possible ways to escape.
