Playing Kitana since the game's release has made me fundamentally a better player. Even back when she needed buffs, I stuck with her and her arguably worst variation Assassin. I had to work for my wins.

Now that she is in a better place, I still have to work for my wins. It's a good feeling to truly overcome your opponent. I have a fighting chance against any character or variation (HQT maybe the only exception).

To make Assassin Strike an overhead would be absolutely ridiculous because of B14. The opposing player would have to guess low to block the combo, or block the overhead leading to a hard knockdown into another B14.

She's fine. The ONLY thing I'd ask for is for B2 to be a few frames faster start up. Nothing insane, just a bit faster so they have to be on point to stuff it opposed to on reaction. You don't need to be able to combo after it either. B2 with sharpen hurts.

I was in this same stream chat today and the downplaying was absolutely ridiculous . When I stated that Katana may not have the best buttons in the game but Overshadow that with wonderful meterless damage off full screen presence, the ability to anti-air with the fan and a fullscreen convert, ability to deal out ridiculous dmg in Assassin for only a bar or two.

They said they didn't understand what I was saying and I was making no sense.

I nearly killed myself.

Personally I don't understand why people think she loses this one. I think it's 5-5. I would play a million A-lists before a HQT

Yeah its literally a full game of cat and mouse and jc's antiair game is weak as fuck so kitana gets away with jumping around like a dick 24/7.

She can check f3 pretty well in the neutral with jump back fan, she also now has a 6f poke (has crappy range but has its uses)

Once he gets in he can pressure well but her armour leads to decent damage (yeah its punishable but still a pain in the ass) and she can pretty effectively shutdown any attempt to counterzone with her reflect.

If the jc is patient as hell its maybe maaaaybe slightly in his favour but its a pain in the ass matchup. 5-5 IMO

LOL it was embarrassing. Asking for a crutch OH, wanting better pressure, more damage etc.

I think she is fine the way she is but the way they dismissed her strengths in an attempt to get any buff they can get was pitiful.

She got the best buff possible in the last patch: d3 has range now. It's a 6f poke that's -3 on block.

Because I had a discussion with some people who claimed Kitana was bottom tier and added that Kitana community all felt the same way so I'm here to find out.

Agree with most of what's been said so far.

She's solid, but Assassin needs an overhead. It's not got anything to really make it more in your face offensive, which it should be to be more of the rushdown variation.

Her chin is bad and only salvaged by wearing her mask.

why does she need an overhead ... f2 is an overhead... you want an overhead that launches or cancels into lift or fan.. ?????
please tell me why do you want an overhead? is it because other characters have it? well, other characters also don't have instant air fans and a god damn floating njp that blows up any anti air attempt
